Cavaliers Reach Agreement With Kevin Jones

The Cavaliers and Kevin Jones have reached an agreement on a three-year, partially-guaranteed contract, reports Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv (via Twitter). Jones, a 6'8" forward from West Virginia, went undrafted on Thursday night, despite being ranked as this year's 45th-best prospect by ESPN.com's Chad Ford.

Jones' agent, Bill Neff, told Zagoria last week that a team picking in the first round in the draft had committed to selecting his client. If that didn't materialize, Neff said, he expected Jones to be picked in the second round. While it's easy to write the agent's comments off now, you have to wonder if Cleveland was the team interested in Jones — the Cavs traded three of their picks (Nos. 24, 33, 34) in order to move up and nab Tyler Zeller 17th overall.

In his senior season at WVU, Jones averaged 19.9 PPG and 10.9 RPG with a .509 FG% in 38.3 minutes per contest. Zach Links of Hoops Rumors profiled Jones right here.
