Chris Bosh Withdraws From Olympics

On the heels of teammate Dwyane Wade pulling out of the Olympics due to injury concerns, Chris Bosh has decided to withdraw as well, tweets Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Agent Henry Thomas told Winderman that Bosh has pulled out of the London games to deal with his lingering abdominal injury.

"The adrenaline in going for the championship really helped," Thomas said (Sulia link). "But we just felt that turning around into basketball for another couple of months was not something that was recommended."

Bosh joins Wade, Dwight Howard, and Derrick Rose as members of Team USA who will be unable to participate in the Olympics this summer due to injuries. On Wednesday, we heard that Lamar Odom, Blake Griffin, and last night's No. 1 pick, Anthony Davis, will try out for spots for the U.S. squad next week, and now Jerry Colangelo says that workout could be even more significant.

"Maybe a couple of them (will make the team)," Colangelo told Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida (Sulia link). "Yes, it’s an important workout."
