Kennedy On Roy, Celtics, Sixers, Gasol

HoopsWorld's Alex Kennedy has the day's major story so far, about the return of Brandon Roy. While Roy suffers from a degenerative condition in his knees, Kennedy is confident that Roy can not only come back to play in the NBA, but do so at a high level. Kennedy recalls a conversation with Jamal Crawford, who said Roy looked dominant in pickup games against NBA players right before he retired. There will be plenty of suitors for Roy, Kennedy opines, believing he'd fit in as a sixth man with the Heat or the Lakers. There are several rumors on other topics around the league in Kennedy's latest chat transcript, and we'll hit the highlights here.

  • Kennedy says he has yet to talk to anyone who believes Ray Allen will re-sign with the Celtics, citing Allen's displeasure with being shopped at the trade deadline and a strained relationship with Rajon Rondo
  • Kevin Garnett will have plenty of teams trying to woo him away from Boston, too, and if Allen and Garnett both leave, Kennedy believes the Celtics will trade Paul Pierce, shedding each of the "big three" in a single offseason.
  • The Sixers have been dangling Andre Iguodala in trade talks, and they may deal him in order to move up from the 15th pick, Kennedy says.
  • Pau Gasol isn't a fit for any of the teams drafting in the top five, so while the Lakers may trade Gasol this summer, it probably won't be for one of those picks.
