Free Agent Rumors: Rush, McGee, Flynn, Landry

Hoops Rumors' list of 2012 restricted free agents has fewer than a dozen names left on it, and a couple more (Jeremy Lin, Nicolas Batum) are set to come off the board as soon as we get resolution on their respective offer sheets. With a number of players having signed new deals and a few others having become unrestricted, it might not be long before there are no restricted free agents left on the market. But for now, there are still a handful looking for work, and we have updates on a couple of them within today's round-up of free agent rumors….

  • Brandon Rush confirmed to Yannis Koutroupis of HoopsWorld that the Lakers are interested in him and that the two sides continue to talk (Twitter link). The Lakers, whose interest we heard about a couple weeks ago, could offer Rush their mini mid-level exception, worth $3.09MM. The Warriors retain the right to match any offer sheet Rush signs.
  • Asked about his negotiations with the Nuggets, restricted free agent JaVale McGee said, "I’m just trying to let my agent handle it, and I’m hopeful that we get it done" (Twitter link via Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld). Denver reportedly has a five-year deal on the table for McGee.
  • Unrestricted free agent Jonny Flynn worked out for the Cavaliers today, tweets Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
  • The Bucks have had interest in Carl Landry in the past, but aren't pursuing him this summer, says Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times (via Twitter).
