Sixers Notes: Landry, Hickson, Humphries

Earlier this afternoon, the 76ers saw one of the mainstays of their 2011/12 rotation agree to sign with an Eastern Conference rival, when Lou Williams reached an agreement with the Hawks. The Sixers continue to do free agent shopping of their own, however. As the team prepares to ink Nick Young to his one-year deal and amnesty Elton Brand, here's the latest out of Philadelphia:

  • President Rod Thorn says the Sixers will add a point guard, preferably a veteran who can give the team about 10 minutes per game, tweets John Mitchell of the Philadelphia Inquirer.
  • Philadelphia is in the market for a power forward, but Thorn denied a rumor that the team was close to signing Carl Landry to a one-year contract, says Tom Moore of PhillyBurbs.com. Moore cites J.J. Hickson as another potential target for the Sixers.
  • One power forward the team won't be targeting, according to Mitchell, is Kris Humphries. Mitchell tweets that the Sixers aren't pursuing the 27-year-old "at all," despite speculation that they could get involved in the Magic/Nets talks involving Humphries and Dwight Howard.
