Several teams have inquired about Norris Cole, but the Heat are vehemently rejecting offers for their backup point guard, reports Shams Charania of RealGM.com. Most rival teams view him as a starting-caliber player, according to Charania.
Cole is in the third season of his rookie scale contract, making slightly more than $1.1MM. That bargain price could go up soon, as he’ll be eligible for an extension this summer, when starting point guard Mario Chalmers, among many others on the Heat, is set to become a free agent. Cole will make about $2MM next season, the final year before an extension or a new contract would kick in.
Not surprised and glad to hear. Norris is a drafted home grown prospect who has developed well. Gotten better every year. Is a true professional who works hard on his craft and wants to get better. Norris has the potential to become one of the best PGs in the league in the future and possibly an all-star. He’s young as hell, speedy – an absolute hound on defense. The kid also is very confident and has the heart to go to the rim, he threw down a huge dunk on three Bulls defenders but I guess winning back to back titles in your first two seasons will boost ur confidence. His 3-ball is getting better as well.

Good thing. Hes too talented. Just look at the numbers he put up when they were resting the big 3. Like triple double numbers. His defense is annoying making him very good on both ends.
Norris also brings a Udonis Haslem like work ethic. He has done a great job, working hard to get better since being drafted. When he was drafted, he couldnt shoot the 3 and was somewhat decent from mid range. Now he shoots the 3 at 42% and his decision making is getting better and better. He obviously is a must defensively guarding the quick PGs in the league. He has ice in his veins and is definitely a player I would like to see spend many years here. Its no surprise to me that teams see him as a starter
