Bulls Offer Contract To Cameron Bairstow

The Bulls have offered a three-year contract to Cameron Bairstow, a source told David Pick of Eurobasket (Twitter link). The 6’9 big man is currently playing for Chicago’s summer league team in Las Vegas, and is averaging 8.3 PPG, 6.3 PPG, and 58.8% shooting in 27.7 MPG through three games.

The Australian native played for four years at the University of New Mexico and had a breakout year in 2013/14, posting 20.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 1.5 BPG while shooting 55.6% from the field; this marked a considerable improvement from his 9.7/5.9/0.6/45.6 line in 2012/13. Chicago selected Bairstow with the 49th overall pick in this year’s draft,

Awesome, Great to see a aussie in a bulls shirt again. Even looks a bit like luke longley :D

Nothing fancy here, but maybe the Bulls can get lucky & pull a decent bench player out of that 49th pick.

Nice to Omir Asik back. Maybe we can grab Cartwright out of retirement.

  4. In regards to his Summer League statistics, I believe you meant 6.3 RPG.

He’s a hard-working blue collar guy – and he has some skills as well. Bulls will love him.

A good 5th big off the bench, w/him @ min over 3yrs, Gasol and Noah @ C/PF, Taj and Mirotic that would be the best bigs in the Nba. We are also deep on the wings w3pt shooting. We need to get a Jordan Crawford to backup PG and play the wing. Maybe a J.Nelson as a vet off the bench. There are some good options left out there and not a lot of money left for teams to spend. Dunlevy is making too much and McDermitt can outplay him anyways, so maybe you do a sign and trade w/Dal for a big SF that can play D
