Jason Terry may still be under contract with the Kings for one more season, but he isn’t ruling out an eventual return to the Mavericks, as both Tim MacMahon (via Twitter) and Bryan Gutierrez of ESPN Dallas note. The former Dallas guard was a guest on 103.3 FM’s Fitzimmons and Friedo Show and expressed his desire for a reunion.
“I won’t rule out returning back to Dallas. It’s my home and my heart…I bleed blue. I’m a Maverick.” Terry added that championships are his driving force as he finishes out his career. “I want to get back on a team that has a realistic shot to win a championship, and I think Dallas is doing those types of things.

- Terry also commented on the current state of the Kings and his plans for the near future. “(They’re) in transition right now. For me, at this point in my career, I want championships…I wouldn’t say it’s rebuilding, but a building process…DeMarcus Cousins (is) a huge talent. (His attitude is) a little shaky. Rudy Gay (is) not a proven winner in this league but a tremendous talent and a guy you can build around…I think there will be some more conversations with my agent and the Sacramento Kings to get a better picture of where they are headed and what they’re trying to accomplish.”
- An increasing number of executives around the league expect the Timberwolves will trade Kevin Love before the start of the season, reports Marc Stein of ESPN.com. The Warriors and Wolves have resumed their trade talks involving Love after having hit a stalemate earlier, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Associated Press. Minnesota believes Golden State will eventually relent and be willing to trade Klay Thompson in a deal for Love, and that the Cavaliers will come around to including Andrew Wiggins in their offers, sources tell Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
- The Mavericks are still looking for another point guard and have spoken with free agent Mo Williams, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports; team president Donnie Nelson doesn’t seem too optimistic about their chances of landing him, notes Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star Telegram (Twitter link).
- Nelson later acknowledged that the team won’t have any money to make a play for Carlos Boozer (Twitter link).

I wouldnt move either Klay Thomson or Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love. I especially wouldnt move Thompson
I disagree, I think moving either for Love would make the Cavs or Warriors much better. Thompson is essentially a younger Kevin Martin, a good player sure but not worth Kevin Love, and Martin would almost certainly come back in the deal. On the Cavs side of things they have a window to win now and Love would certainly help that cause more than Wiggins, as he might take a couple years to start reaching his potential.
You do know that there are other parts of basketball besides the scoring side right?
Okay… So you are suggesting without seeing him play an NBA game that Wiggins defense will better than the overall contribution Love provides in rebounding, scoring and passing? Or are you suggesting Thompson is a elite defender? Because we already know he is not better than love in any other area.
I was saying that Klay Thompson is a very good 2 way player that has every chance to keep improving. Even with Andre Igoudala on his team, he guards the opposing team’s best player on most nights…I probably should have worded that a little differently, so that is my bad. Kevin Love is a very good player. I just think this is a guard league, and I wouldnt trade Thompson. As for Wiggins, I think he needs to be a part of Cleveland’s next contending team. Obviously, he still has a lot of room to grow, but I would bet on him having a better chance to reach his potential playing with LeBron James. He is an elite athlete, and the Cavs need to hold onto that for multiple reasons, including the fact that nobody on their roster besides LeBron James plays defense. I also dont think that a Cavs team with LeBron, Love, and Irving is a clear championship favorite, so the risk of losing Wiggins just doesnt seem worth taking, especially for a guy that can easily leave in a year
Best thing that could happen for for the Cavs is that the Warriors land Love, and he then joins the team as a Free Agent. Why strip pieces and future pieces when he’s available 1 year from now? Focus on filling out the roster with solid role players for a run at a championship this season, then try for a mock big 3 in 2015. Maybe targeting a Blair/Blatche/Big Baby as a back-up 4. Or they could take a shot at Ryan Kelly who could be a slow footed version of Ryan Anderson/Kevin Love. Not much there for a back-up C other reclamation projects like Bynum/Oden.
T-Wolves are just saying that because they don’t have leverage and trying to get some leverage, this is only guaranteeing that the Warriors and Cavs won’t include Klay or Wiggins. T-Wolves better be careful about leaking info as they might lose Love to any team with huge cap space (Lakers or Celtics) for nothing. Love might lose out on an extra $20 million but he’ll go to Laker town and team up with Kobe and Jeremy Lin. Lakers might still have more cap space to finally sign a good center to team up with Lin, Young, Randle and Love.
