No Deal For Sixers, Malcolm Lee

SEPTEMBER 29TH: Lee is not among the players listed on the preseason roster the team sent via press release, so presumably the deal is off.

SEPTEMBER 24TH: The Sixers have reached agreement with Malcolm Lee, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports (Twitter link). Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it’s likely a standard non-guaranteed camp deal for the 24 year-old out of UCLA. This brings Philadelphia’s preseason roster count to 18, with eight of those players having fully-guaranteed contracts, and four whose deals carry partial guarantees.

The 6’5″ shooting guard worked out for the Lakers and the Nets during the Summer, and his most recent appearance in the league was with the Timberwolves during the 2012/13 campaign. In 35 career games, including 12 starts, Lee has averaged 4.0 PPG, 1.9 RPG, and 1.5 APG. His career slash line is .385/.294/.703.

Lee will get a look in camp at the the wing as a potential backup to projected starter Tony Wroten, and with the Sixers expected to challenge the league record for losses in a season, the roster is wide open for Lee to stick around through opening night.

And the garbage collection continues. The league needs to strip the 76ers of picks, plus a fine

Shut the hell up they have a plan what are you gonna say when theyre too good and winning championships, the league needs to strip the Sixers of rings because their too good and they need to fine them. Shutup and learn about a topic before you make a bias comment on something and your probly a pissy knicks fan or other mediocre team because while youll be stuck in mediocrity for the next 10 years well be winning multiple championships by then *sshole

So what FA were dying to play for the Sixers this year or previous years? You can hate it or not but tanking was the only way the Sixers could build something that LAST like Okc.

Typical juvenile answer. So you tank for 5 years and draft KIDS who get paid millions, and havent proven they can even play? That’s your fu**ing answer? Shut up! Fact of the matter is, you have blind fans that are celebrating a GM who’s done NOTHING but dump players and tank! THAT’S THE FACTS!

Okay how about the fact that we tried it that way and havent gotten any closer to a championship? Say what you want about Hinkie but how is that different from celebrating spending money on washed up talent? Or how about celebrating tearing up a roster for Andrew bynum? And how is wasting 5 years tanking different then wasting 5 years as the 7th or 8th seed? And you have a problem with spending millions on unproven kids? News flash buddy thats basically the whole point of the draft, you either end up an Allen iverson or you end up… Read more »

the sixers are building a young team. no free agents really fit in to what they are doing and none of this summers free agents would have made much of a difference in the sixers record. guess they should’ve just signed LeBron. you are a dope ed Charles. the easiest way to improve a bad team in the nba is through the draft not free agency that’s just the facts pal.
