JULY 19: The Clippers have officially signed Bass, according to the team’s website.
JULY 16: The Clippers have reached an agreement to sign Brandon Bass, sources tell Shams Charania of The Vertical (Twitter link). It’ll be a one-year deal, presumably for the minimum, which is worth roughly $1.55MM, according to Dan Woike of the OC Register (Twitter link). Charania adds (full-length piece) the the Spurs had strong interest in bringing Bass aboard.
Bass spent last season with the Lakers, accumulating 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds off the bench. He turned down a player option worth $3.135MM last month in order to become a free agent. At the time, Eddie Scarito of Hoops Rumors speculated that the Clippers could be a possible landing spot.
The Clippers already added Marreese Speights earlier in the month, so they now have plenty of veteran depth in the frontcourt behind DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin.

Took less money. That makes me mad! We really needed his passion and wisdom off the bench. We lost Barnes to them in free agency and now this guy. Really fires me up even though he isn’t a big player but I really liked him and what he can bring to the table especially for the young guys. Wonder if the Lakers now bring back MWP for one more season in that mentor role. I would like it. Don’t care if he hardly plays. The contract won’t cost us much, gotta spend the money anyways and it’ll be off the records next season. Anyways, enough about my Lakers lol. I can’t stand all the fake Clippers fans. I go to the games like 3 times a year because my sister is a Clippers girl and it’s so darn boring lol. You go to a Lakers game and it doesn’t matter if we are a 17 game win team and we are losing the crown is super into it unlike those “Clippers fans” lol. Sure I’ll make some real Clippers fans mad with this and I apologize if I do, you are not the ones I am talking about anyways so don’t offended by this and I know there are some real fans out there but there really is more fake ones then real ones it seems like lol.
honestly the reason the lakers have more fans is because of the past and championships. if the clippers had the past the lakers do, which they don’t, there would be a lot more “fans” to make the games more interesting for you
