<ul>
<li>NBA executives are curious to see who the <strong>Pistons</strong> hire as a head coach, since it may indicate whether advisor <strong>Phil Jackson</strong> or GM <strong>Joe Dumars</strong> has more sway in Detroit. Dumars is believed to favor <strong>Nate McMillan</strong> or <strong>Maurice Cheeks</strong>, while Jackson&#39;s pick would likely be <strong>Brian Shaw</strong>.</li>
<li>Had Chris Hansen&#39;s purchase of the <strong>Kings</strong> gone through, Jackson would have run the team&#39;s front office in Seattle, and intended to hire Shaw as head coach, says Broussard.</li>
<li>The <strong>Nets</strong> have yet to approach any coaching candidates besides Jackson, who told the team he wasn&#39;t interested in coaching. Brooklyn is currently conducting &quot;rigorous checks&quot; on potential candidates, and is seeking someone tough and firm who is able to get the most out of the talent on the roster.</li>
<li>The <strong>Clippers</strong> are high on McMillan, according to Broussard.</li>
<li>Sources tell Broussard that <strong>Bobcats</strong> GM Rich Cho is interested in hiring <strong>Quin Snyder</strong> to replace <strong>Mike Dunlap</strong>.</li>
<li>&quot;Many league insiders&quot; believe <strong>Spurs</strong> assistant <strong>Mike Budenholzer</strong> is the favorite to land the <strong>Hawks</strong>&#39; job, says Broussard.</li>
<li>While <strong>Celtics</strong> GM <strong>Danny Ainge</strong> has privately told teams he won&#39;t grant them permission to speak to <strong>Doc Rivers</strong>, Broussard says if Rivers really wanted a change of scenery, Ainge would probably allow him to explore other options. There&#39;s no indication that&#39;s the case though.</li>
<li>Although <strong>Flip Saunders</strong> will run the <strong>Timberwolves</strong>&#39; basketball operations, he&#39;s looking to hire a general manager, and is currently performing background checks on possible candidates. A hire likely won&#39;t happen until after the draft, according to Broussard.</li>
<li>Rival lottery teams aren&#39;t necessarily jealous that the <strong>Cavaliers</strong> landed the first overall pick. Said one GM: <em>&quot;I&#39;d rather be two, three or four in this draft than one.&quot;</em></li>
<li>Another executive from a lottery team on the process: <em>&quot;We didn&#39;t want to win this year&#39;s lottery. Next year&#39;s the one to win. Then after that, you want to be out of the lottery.&quot;</em></li>

Later on in the interview, Burke spoke about his decision to stay with the Wolverines for his sophomore season this past year and how some of his teammates used him as a resource to help determine their immediate futures as well. Here are a few more draft notes worth passing along this evening:</p>
<ul>
<li>HoopsWorld&#39;s Steve Kyler thinks that while <strong>Ricky Ledo</strong> has some baggage that teams will have to sort through, he&#39;s a solid scorer who has drawn interest and could be taken between 20-40 in this draft (<a href="https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/337725848167800833" target="_blank">Twitter</a> <a href="https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/337725996138631169" target="_blank">links</a>).&#0160;</li>
<li><a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wizards-insider/wp/2013/05/23/wizards-move-up-but-could-still-miss-out-on-otto-porter-jr/" target="_blank">Michael Lee of The Washington Post</a> hears that <strong>Otto Porter</strong> is under consideration to be selected by the <strong>Cavaliers</strong> with their number one overall pick.&#0160;</li>
<li>According to <a href="http://www.sportando.net/eng/europe/lithuania/55985/mindaugas-kupsas-will-participate-at-the-adidas-eurocamp.html" target="_blank">Emiliano Carchia of Sportando</a>, Lithuanian center <strong>Mindaugas Kupsas</strong> will participate at the Adidas Eurocamp in Treviso and may travel to the United States for private workouts around two weeks before the NBA draft.&#0160;</li>
<li><a href="http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-pm-draft-prospects-respond-to-critics" target="_blank">Hoopsworld&#39;s Alex Kennedy</a> writes that despite some of the criticisms which suggest that this year&#39;s draft pool isn&#39;t very strong, the 2011 NBA Draft was a good example of one that was stronger and deeper than initially expected. Kennedy writes that a handful of prospects -including <strong>Nerlens Noel</strong>, <strong>Trey Burke</strong>, <strong>Michael Carter-Williams</strong>, <strong>Victor Oladipo</strong>, and&#0160;<strong>Mason Plumlee</strong> - &#0160;have noted those criticisms and are eager to use it as motivation once they enter the league.&#0160;</li>
<li>Adam Zagoria of Zagsblog <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/337692245522268161" target="_blank">tweeted</a> about forward/center <strong>Alex Oriakhi</strong>, who one NBA scout opined is &quot;as strong as three men,&quot; can rebound the ball well, and has been a high percentage field goal shooter because he never takes a bad shot.</li>
<li>Zagoria notes that one veteran NBA scout thinks that former Louisville point guard <strong>Peyton Siva</strong> will be taken in the second round of the draft (<a href="https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/337692755264430080" target="_blank">Twitter</a> link).&#0160;</li>
<li>Lastly, Zagoria (via <a href="https://twitter.com/AdamZagoria/status/337692969647874048" target="_blank">Twitter</a>) mentions that former Baylor guard <strong>Pierre Jackson&#0160;</strong>&quot;impressed a lot of NBA folks&quot; during his workout in New Jersey today.&#0160;</li>

<li>The <strong>Wizards </strong>are interested in drafting based on talent as opposed to a positional need, according to a <a href="https://twitter.com/JMichaelCSN/status/337282780113276928" target="_blank">tweet</a> from CSNWashington.com&#39;s J. <li>Sean Meagher from OregonLive.com <a href="http://www.oregonlive.com/blazers/index.ssf/2013/05/nba_draft_trail_blazers_no_10_pick_poll.html" target="_blank">has a poll up</a> asking what the <strong>Trail Blazers </strong>should do with the 10th overall pick.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.torontosun.com/2013/05/22/raptors-ping-pong-balls-love-cavaliers-wizards" target="_blank">Mike Ganter of the Toronto Sun</a> writes that it&#39;s probably for the best that the <strong>Raptors</strong>&#0160;won&#39;t have a pick in next month&#39;s draft, being that they have enough young players as it is. Toronto traded their first-round pick to the <strong>Rockets</strong>&#0160;in exchange for <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/lowryky01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Kyle Lowry</a></strong> last year. <div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>For a third consecutive year, there aren&#39;t any Pacific Division teams in the Western Conference Finals, a dry spell that&#39;s never happened before. The<strong> Lakers</strong> are mostly responsible for that history of success, but the<strong> Suns</strong> have had their moments, too. For most of the city&#39;s time with an NBA team, Seattle was a part of the Pacific Division, and the SuperSonics were no stranger to playing for a berth in the Finals. With the league reportedly having <a href="http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/05/nba-approves-sale-of-kings-to-sacramento-group.html" target="_blank">approved the sale</a> of the <strong>Kings</strong> to a Sacramento-based group, it looks like Seattle won&#39;t be an NBA destination for at least a while longer.&#0160;</p>
<p>Here&#39;s a check on each of the five current Pacific Division teams as they try to climb their way back into contention:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Clippers</strong> owner Donald Sterling, who&#39;s attending today&#39;s opener of the Western Conference Finals, has yet to meet with <strong>Vinny Del Negro</strong> <a href="http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/05/clippers-owner-to-meet-with-vinny-del-negro.html" target="_blank">as planned</a> this weekend, but resolution on the coach&#39;s future should come within the week,&#0160;<a href="https://twitter.com/ramonashelburne/status/336199694889918464" target="_blank">tweets</a>&#0160;Ramona Shelburne of ESPNLosAngeles.com.</li>

<li>Of all the people involved in keeping the<strong> Kings</strong> in Sacramento, none were as influential as David Stern, who demonstrated that he still has control of the league even as his tenure as commissioner comes to a close,&#0160;<a href="http://www.sacbee.com/2013/05/19/5431626/ailene-voisin-stern-saves-sacramento.html#mi_rss=Kings/NBA" target="_blank">The Bee&#39;s Ailene Voisin</a>&#0160;writes.</li>
<li><strong>Suns</strong> scouts have been high on Maryland center <strong>Alex Len</strong> since before this past season began, according to&#0160;<a href="http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/20130518suns-poor-draft-odds-put-focus-nd-tier.html" target="_blank">Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic</a>, who runs down some of the players the team will likely target with its lottery pick.&#0160;</li>
<li><strong>Greg Somogyi</strong> impressed <strong>Mike Brown</strong> when the two were together in <strong>Lakers</strong> camp last fall, and Brown has invited the 7&#39;3&quot; center to a <strong>Cavaliers</strong> mini-camp this summer, reports Sportando contributor David Pick (<a href="https://twitter.com/IAmDPick/status/336152110829817856" target="_blank">Twitter link</a>).</li>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p><strong>10:45pm: </strong>There have been some updates on the second to last day of the Chicago predraft camp, which started on Thursday and ends tomorrow night, as well as other draft-related news, including a few players who hope their names are announced earlier, rather than later, by David Stern in June.&#0160;</p>
<ul>
<li>Virginia Tech guard and ACC Player of the year, <strong>Erick Green</strong>, <a href="http://www.csnwashington.com/basketball-washington-wizards/talk/virginia-techs-green-expects-be-drafted-higher" target="_blank">told CSN Washington&#39;s J. Michael</a> that he expects to be drafted higher than expected. Despite averaging 25 PPG along with 4 APG and 4 RPG in his last college season, Virginia Tech&#39;s awful record kept him off the national radar, and at a smidgen under 6&#39;2&quot; he&#39;s undersized for an NBA off guard.&#0160;</li>
<li>One player the <strong>Wizards</strong> interviewed was Duke&#39;s <strong>Mason Plumlee</strong>, who Green beat out for ACC Player of the Year. When <a href="“I%20feel like athletically and how I played this year, I’ve proven that I am" target="_blank">Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer asked</a> Plumlee whether he believes he&#39;s a top 10 pick, Plumlee told him: &quot;I feel like athletically and how I played this year, I’ve proven that I am.&quot;</li>
<li>Another player hoping to be a lottery pick, but who didn&#39;t play in a big conference like the ACC, is Lehigh University&#39;s <strong>C.J. McCollum</strong>, who spoke with <a href="http://www.ohio.com/news/top-stories/2103-nba-scouting-combine-glenoak-grad-c-j-mccollum-hopes-to-be-a-lottery-pick-1.398905?localLinksEnabled=false&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal</a>&#0160;about his size (he&#39;s undersized for an off guard like Green, but can play both guard positions). &#0160;Two teams who don&#39;t really have a need at guard, in the <strong>Cavs</strong> and <strong>Wizards</strong>, both interviewed McCollum.</li>
<li><strong>Norvel Pelle&#0160;</strong>is even further off the radar than the others mentioned, but he&#39;s a player who <a href="http://zagsblog.com/articles/onetime-st-johns-and-iona-commit-norvel-pelle-now-shooting-for-the-nba-draft/" target="_blank">Jeremy Woo described at Zagsblog.com</a>&#0160;as &quot;the most enigmatic player on the court&quot; in Chicago, and he didn&#39;t even play in college after failing to qualify academically. Despite some praise from Woo, and one Western Conference scout&#39;s take that Pelle &quot;would have to make it via the NBA&#39;s D-League,&quot; another scout was a bit more harsh with his assessment, saying that the rail-thin 6&#39;11&quot; 20-year-old was &quot;an AAU tragedy who got bad advice. Wasted years of development. Get his passport ready.&quot;</li>
<li>After watching <strong>Bobcats</strong> general manager <strong>Rich Cho</strong> inquire time and again about players in the 10-20 pick range, <a href="http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/05/18/4049789/pick-swapping-could-give-nba-draft.html" target="_blank">Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer</a>&#0160;believes the <strong>Bobcats</strong> might be looking to trade down from wherever they wind up in the draft lottery this Tuesday, May 21st.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orlando-magic/os-orlando-magic-draft-lottery-0519-20130518,0,3650115,full.story" target="_blank">Josh Robbins writes at the Orlando Sentinel </a>that <strong>Magic</strong> Senior Vice President&#0160;<strong>Pat Williams,&#0160;</strong>is their good luck charm because his teams have won the draft lottery four different times: once for the <strong>Sixers</strong> in 1986, and three times for the <strong>Magic</strong> in 1992, 1993 and 2004.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>3:00pm:</strong> There isn&#39;t on-court action at the Chicago predraft camp this weekend as there was Thursday and Friday, though teams and players remain in town until tomorrow. Several general managers tell&#0160;<a href="http://ht.ly/l9wuM" target="_blank">Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel</a>&#0160;that they would prefer the event focus less on putting players through drills and afford them more time for interviews. With ESPN televising the part of the combine with players on the hardwood, I wouldn&#39;t expect the GMs to get their wish anytime soon. Here&#39;s the latest draft-related news:</p>
<ul>
<li>The league posted&#0160;<a href="http://www.nba.com/2013/news/05/17/nba-draft-combine-results/index.html?rss=true" target="_blank">measurements and athletic testing results</a>&#0160;from the combine participants on NBA.com.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/22265316/nba-draft-gm-says-no-one-worthy-of-no-1-pick-this-year" target="_blank">Jeff Goodman of CBSSports.com</a>&#0160;rounds up his observations from the combine, passing along gloomy opinions on the top talent from a pair of NBA GMs, one of whom says,&#0160;<em>&quot;There&#39;s really no one worthy of the top pick.&quot;</em></li>
<li><a href="http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2013/05/detroit_pistons_contact_list_w.html" target="_blank">MLive&#39;s David Mayo</a>&#0160;provides a master list of all the draft prospects whom the&#0160;<strong>Pistons</strong>&#0160;have interviewed either formally or informally, along with the dates of the individual workouts those players have scheduled with the team.</li>
<li><strong>Jamaal Franklin</strong>&#0160;attended the combine despite a sprained ankle that kept him out of workouts and drills, and he interviewed with at least nine teams, according to&#0160;<a href="http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/may/17/sdsu-basketball-draft-combine-jamaal-franklin/" target="_blank">Mark Zeigler of the San Diego Union-Tribune</a>. His first workout is scheduled for June 3rd with the&#0160;<strong>Mavs</strong>, and the&#0160;<strong>Hawks, Nets, Cavs</strong>&#0160;and&#0160;<strong>Bucks</strong>&#0160;are also &quot;in the mix,&quot; Zeigler writes.</li>
<li>The<strong>&#0160;Sixers</strong>&#0160;interviewed&#0160;<strong>Rudy Gobert</strong>&#0160;on Friday, reports&#0160;<a href="http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/20130518_Big_man_Rudy_Gobert_talks_with_Sixers.html" target="_blank">Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer</a>.</li>
<li><a href="http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/nba/news/20130517/nba-draft-prospect-questions/index.html" target="_blank">Chris Mannix of SI.com</a>&#0160;quizzed some of the top prospects with questions they likely heard in their interviews with teams.</li>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><div>A spring evening without an NBA playoff game is like a day without sunshine for many of us, but tomorrow, the Central Division champion <strong>Pacers</strong>&#0160;will try one more time to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since the <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/millere01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Reggie Miller</a></strong> era. If they get there, they&#39;ll try to avoid becoming the third straight Central team eliminated by the <strong>Heat</strong>, who already knocked out the <strong>Bucks</strong> and <strong>Bulls</strong>. Here&#39;s the latest from the division:</div>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.csnchicago.com/bulls-talk/despite-playoff-heroics-robinson-likely-move" target="_blank">Aggrey Sam of CSNChicago.com</a>&#0160;figures&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/robinna01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Nate Robinson</a></strong>&#0160;has played his last game for the <strong>Bulls</strong>. <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/rosede01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Derrick Rose</a></strong>,&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/hinriki01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Kirk Hinrich</a></strong>&#0160;and&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/t/teaguma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Marquis Teague</a></strong>&#0160;will all probably be around to play point guard, and Robinson&#39;s performance will likely make him too pricey for Chicago.<strong><br /></strong></li>
<li><strong>Bulls</strong> GM <strong>Gar Forman</strong> addressed the specter of a missed season for Rose&#0160;with <a href="http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/gm-forman-bulls-heading-right-direction.html" target="_blank">Adam Fluck of Bulls.com</a>, and in spite of an offseason of personnel decisions ahead, Forman identifies simply getting healthy as the team&#39;s primary goal this summer.</li>
<li>Bulls president and COO <strong>Michael Reinsdorf</strong> praised the work of&#0160;Forman and executive VP of basketball operations&#0160;<strong><strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/paxsojo01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">John  Paxson</a></strong></strong>, as Fluck passes along in a&#0160;<a href="http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/reinsdorfs-confidence-high-paxson-and-forman.html" target="_blank">separate piece</a>.</li>
<li>If the<strong> Cavaliers</strong> wind up picking third, their current position in the <a href="http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/04/2013-nba-draft-tiebreakers-tentative-order.html" target="_blank">pre-lottery order</a>, <a href="http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2013/05/cleveland_cavaliers_gm_chris_g_2.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter" target="_blank">Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Plain Dealer</a> expects the team to target a small forward, and take a backup big man with the 19th selection.&#0160;</li>
<li>Boyer also reports in her piece that the<strong> Cavs</strong> have hired <strong>Phil Handy</strong>, an assistant coach with the <strong>Lakers</strong>, to serve as an assistant under head coach <strong><strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/brownmi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Mike Brown</a></strong></strong>. The Cavs have yet to make an official announcement.</li>
<li>Former <strong>Cavs</strong> assistant <strong>Nate Tibbetts</strong> joined the <strong>Blazers</strong> staff this week, a move one executive classifies as a &quot;home run hire&quot; for Portland, notes <a href="http://www.ohio.com/news/top-stories/2013-nba-scouting-combine-cleveland-cavaliers-focus-on-drafting-good-players-not-overall-strength-of-draft-1.398711?localLinksEnabled=false&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal</a>. The <strong>Bobcats&#0160;</strong><a href="http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/04/latest-on-pistons-bobcats-coaching-searches.html" target="_blank">had been interested</a> in Tibbetts for their head coaching job.</li>

We&#39;ll see if today is as busy, but in the meantime, here are the latest updates on the 2013 draft:</p>
<ul>
<li>Some NBA executives believe that it&#39;s possible <strong>Shabazz Muhammad</strong> falls out of the top 10 and perhaps even the lottery on draft night, writes <a href="http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2013/05/16/another-hit-to-muhammad-draft-stock/" target="_blank">Scott Howard-Cooper of NBA.com</a>.</li>
<li>In an Insider-only piece, <a href="http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/draft2013/story/_/id/9284003/2013-nba-draft-draft-measurements-noel-muhammad-concern-some-gms" target="_blank">ESPN.com&#39;s Chad Ford</a> passes along the official measurements on the players in Chicago, and provides a few thoughts on the results.</li>
<li>Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News (<a href="https://twitter.com/timkawakami/status/335425251108347904" target="_blank">Twitter link</a>) hears from an NBA source that the <strong>Warriors</strong> believe they can acquire either a first- or second-round pick in this year&#39;s draft, if they so choose. Kawakami adds in a <a href="https://twitter.com/timkawakami/status/335425545909194752" target="_blank">second tweet</a> that a pick would mostly just cost money, but I&#39;m skeptical that the Warriors could pick up a first-rounder without giving up anything of value, or that they&#39;d even want to add a rookie-scale salary, given their proximity to the tax.</li>
<li><strong>Alex Len</strong> met with the <strong>Bobcats</strong> last night and will meet with the <strong>Cavaliers</strong> today, according to tweets from <a href="https://twitter.com/rick_bonnell/status/335427543211601920" target="_blank">Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer</a> and <a href="https://twitter.com/JasonLloydABJ/status/335426071803600896" target="_blank">Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon-Journal</a>. David Mayo of MLive.com <a href="https://twitter.com/David_Mayo/status/335427144673013760" target="_blank">tweets</a> that Len has nothing set up with the <strong>Pistons</strong> and &quot;wasn&#39;t too enthused&quot; when asked about them -- perhaps that would change if Detroit jumped into the top three in next week&#39;s lottery.</li>
<li>The <strong>Pistons</strong> will meet with <strong>Rudy Gobert</strong> today, <a href="https://twitter.com/Keith_Langlois/status/335427952768581632" target="_blank">tweets</a> Keith Langlois of Pistons.com.</li>
<li><strong>Steven Adams</strong> interviewed with the <strong>Magic</strong> last night, according to Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel (<a href="https://twitter.com/JoshuaBRobbins/status/335426529892921345" target="_blank">Twitter link</a>). Chad Ford heard that Adams was <a href="http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/blog/_/name/nba_draft/id/9285282/2013-nba-draft-notes-day-1-draft-combine" target="_blank">the big winner</a> on the first day of the combine, with &quot;GM after GM&quot; impressed by his showing.</li>
<li><strong>Kelly Olynyk</strong> has met with the <strong>Bucks</strong>, <a href="https://twitter.com/GeryWoelfel/status/335430268737449984" target="_blank">tweets</a> Gery Woelfel of the Racine Journal Times.</li>
<li><strong>Myck Kabongo</strong> met with the <strong>Knicks</strong> and <strong>Trail Blazers</strong> earlier in the week, says <a href="http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/2013/05/the-combines-like-a-festival-of-basketball.html" target="_blank">Doug Smith of the Toronto Star</a>. <strong>Mason Plumlee</strong> also expects to meet with the Blazers, <a href="https://twitter.com/jwquick/status/335432630675836928" target="_blank">tweets</a> Jason Quick of the Oregonian.</li>

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><p>With just one Conference Semifinal still ongoing, we won&#39;t see any NBA action tonight, as the <strong>Knicks</strong> and <strong>Pacers</strong> prepare for tomorrow&#39;s Game Six. Even if the Eastern Semifinal extends to a seventh game though, we can look forward to the Western Finals getting underway on Sunday, featuring a <strong>Spurs</strong>/<strong>Grizzlies</strong> matchup that few would have predicted last fall. As we get ready for those games, let&#39;s check in on a few odds and ends from around the Association:</p>
<ul>
<li>Following the <strong>Warriors</strong>&#39; elimination from the postseason, <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/j/jackja01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Jarrett Jack</a></strong> tells <a href="http://www.mercurynews.com/warriors/ci_23264465/tearful-jarrett-jack-says-he-hopes-stay-golden" target="_blank">Marcus Thompson II of the San Jose Mercury News</a> that he&#39;d love to get a chance to return to the team next season. <em>&quot;Obviously there are other things that go into seeing if that works,&quot;</em> Jack said. <em>&quot;We all know this is a business at the end of the day. If I could do it, if I could rearrange it, I would definitely be back at this same locker.&quot;</em></li>
<li><a href="http://www.denverpost.com/nuggets/ci_23263008/ty-lawson-tweeting-desire-have-nuggets-stay-andre" target="_blank">Christopher Dempsey of the Denver Post</a> takes a look at <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/lawsoty01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Ty Lawson</a></strong>&#39;s efforts to woo <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/i/iguodan01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Andre Iguodala</a></strong> back to the <strong>Nuggets</strong> via social media. Lawson says he&#39;s been &quot;telling [Iguodala] all year&quot; that he ought to stay in Denver beyond this season.</li>
<li><strong>Cavaliers</strong> GM <strong>Chris Grant</strong> suggests to Sam Amico of FOX Sports Ohio (<a href="https://twitter.com/SamAmicoFSO/status/335419527586271232" target="_blank">Twitter link</a>) that the Cavs expect to be bigger players in free agency this summer than in recent years.</li>
<li><a href="http://www.azcentral.com/sports/suns/articles/20130516phoenix-suns-gm-ryan-mcdonough-search-new-coach.html" target="_blank">Paul Coro of the Arizona Republic</a> shares the latest news on the <strong>Suns</strong>&#39; head coaching search, writing that candidates on playoff teams become less likely for Phoenix the longer their respective clubs stay alive.</li>
<li><strong>Bulls</strong> coach <strong>Tom Thibodeau</strong> is hoping the team can bring back <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mohamna01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Nazr Mohammed</a></strong>, calling his performance &quot;tremendous,&quot; but acknowledged that the big man may receive better offers. <a href="http://www.suntimes.com/sports/basketball/bulls/20156008-579/joakim-noah-might-require-surgery-on-his-right-foot.html" target="_blank">Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times</a> has the details.</li>
<li>The <strong>Bobcats</strong> can&#39;t afford a misfire on draft night this year, says <a href="http://www.hoopsworld.com/nba-am-bobcats-cant-afford-draft-day-whiff" target="_blank">Lang Greene of HoopsWorld</a>.</li>

Cowley also mentions that Chicago will likely have to find a way to re-tool their bench with several one-year deals again, as Thibodeau said that the market will dictate whether or not they&#39;ll be able to carry over several of their key role players - namely&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/r/robinna01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Nate Robinson</a></strong>,&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/belinma01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Marco Belinelli</a></strong>, and&#0160;<strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/mohamna01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Nazr Mohammed</a></strong>&#0160;- into next season. Here&#39;s more out of the Eastern Conference tonight:&#0160;</p>
<ul>
<li><a href="http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2013/05/16/ainge-confirm-that-doc-rivers-will-return-celtics/oBSd2NhEzMbm1DhJiYY09K/story.html" target="_blank">Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe</a> writes that even though <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/p/piercpa01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Paul Pierce</a></strong>&#39;s future in Boston is yet to be determined, one source says that Pierce&#39;s family is already preparing for possible relocation while anticipating that the <strong>Celtics</strong> will look to trade him or complete a buyout this summer.&#0160;</li>
<li><a href="http://www.jsonline.com/sports/bucks/bucks-could-be-looking-for-backcourt-help-in-draft-8g9vhvp-207807731.html" target="_blank">Charles F. Gardner of the Journal Sentinel</a> opines that the <strong>Bucks</strong> could be looking for backcourt help in the upcoming draft.&#0160;</li>
<li>Former Pittsburgh center <strong>Steven Adams</strong> would be ecstatic if he wound up with the&#0160;<strong>Wizards</strong>, according to <a href="http://www.csnwashington.com/basketball-washington-wizards/talk/adams-wizards-id-go-there-definitely" target="_blank">J. Michael of CSN Washington</a>. While it isn&#39;t likely that Washington would use their lottery pick on Adams, it seems sensible that they&#39;d target the 7-footer with one of their second round picks if he was still on the draft board.&#0160;</li>
<li><strong>Michael-Carter Williams</strong> would relish an opportunity with the <strong>76ers</strong> if they drafted him, notes&#0160;<a href="http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/sixers/Michael-Carter-Williams-interested-in-helping-Sixers.html" target="_blank">Keith Pompey of Philly.com</a>.&#0160;</li>
<li><a href="http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2013/05/cj_mccollum_will_be_a_first-ro.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter" target="_blank">Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Plain Dealer</a> observes that <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/o/odengr01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Greg Oden</a></strong> has been looking great in his workouts as he targets an eventual return to the NBA. As we&#39;ve heard before, Oden has been <a href="http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2013/05/free-agent-stock-watch-greg-oden.html" target="_blank">linked to a handful of Eastern Conference teams</a>, especially the Cavaliers.&#0160;</li>

It&#39;s worth noting that despite an offer north of $625MM as well as the $115MM relocation fee that would have been included by the Seattle group, Stern was able to sway the vote in Sacramento&#39;s direction, even though it appeared that more owners were in favor of Seattle&#39;s offer (<a href="https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/335168044580093952" target="_blank">All</a>&#0160;<a href="https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/335167836110589953" target="_blank">Twitter</a>&#0160;<a href="https://twitter.com/stevekylerNBA/status/335168682789593088" target="_blank">links</a>).&#0160;Here are a few more miscellaneous tidbits from around the Association tonight:</p>
<ul>
<li>Ken Berger of CBS Sports <a href="https://twitter.com/KBergCBS/status/335149789551411201" target="_blank">tweets</a> that the <strong>76ers</strong> are expected to interview lead assistant coach <strong><a href="http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/currymi01.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-www.typepad.com" target="_blank">Michael Curry</a></strong> for their head coaching job next week.&#0160;</li>

<li>Although potential number one pick <strong>Nerlens Noel</strong> wouldn&#39;t be ready to start the regular season of his rookie campaign, the&#0160;highly touted draft prospect is targeting a debut around Christmas, writes <a href="http://www.ohio.com/blogs/cleveland-cavaliers/cleveland-cavaliers-1.275356/projected-top-pick-nerlens-noel-won-t-be-ready-for-start-of-season-targeting-christmas-1.398309?localLinksEnabled=false&amp;utm_medium=twitter&amp;utm_source=twitterfeed" target="_blank">Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com</a>.</li>
<li>Noel&#39;s injury is just one reason why teams might not be too high in landing the number one draft slot this year, writes Lloyd. In that same piece, Lloyd cites one league executive who thinks that a team might be better off drafting whoever falls to the third or fourth pick rather than handle the risk of drafting first overall.&#0160;</li>
<li>Georgetown&#39;s <strong>Otto Porter</strong> spoke glowingly about being a potential fit for the <strong>Cavaliers</strong>, writes <a href="http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2013/05/georgetowns_otto_porter_jr_loo.html?utm_source=twitterfeed&amp;utm_medium=twitter" target="_blank">Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Plain Dealer</a>.&#0160;</li>
<li><strong>Shabazz Muhammad</strong> opened up about the controversy surrounding his listed age and briefly told <a href="http://www.mlive.com/pistons/index.ssf/2013/05/shabazz_muhammad_who_is_on_det.html" target="_blank">David Mayo of MLive.com</a> about how he&#39;d fare with the <strong>Pistons</strong> if they drafted him.</li>
<li><strong>Warriors</strong> majority owner <strong>Joe Lacob</strong> says that he won&#39;t have a problem finding a replacement for <strong>Vivek Ranadive&#39;s</strong> current share with Golden State once the Sacramento situation is resolved, says Tim Kawakami of the Mercury News (via <a href="https://twitter.com/timkawakami/status/335205760902520832" target="_blank">Twitter</a>). &#0160;</li>

<p><strong>11:09am:</strong> With a number of reporters in attendance at the NBA&#39;s predraft camp in Chicago, we&#39;re expecting plenty of noteworthy tidbits to trickle in throughout the day. Here&#39;s a round-up of the first batch of updates on 2013&#39;s draft combine participants:</p>
<ul>
<li>According to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal (<a href="https://twitter.com/JasonLloydABJ/status/335050708636299265" target="_blank">Twitter link</a>), the <strong>Cavaliers</strong> aren&#39;t on <strong>Otto Porter</strong>&#39;s list of teams he&#39;s meeting with this week. That&#39;s a bit of a surprise, given the rumblings that he&#39;s high on the team&#39;s big board, though as Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Plain Dealer <a href="https://twitter.com/PDcavsinsider/status/335063296325582848" target="_blank">tweets</a>, the Cavs drafted a pair of players they didn&#39;t interview last year.</li>
<li>Porter <em>is</em> scheduled to meet with the <strong>Wizards</strong>, who spoke to <strong>Victor Oladipo</strong> earlier this week, <a href="https://twitter.com/MrMichaelLee/status/335054681145499648" target="_blank">tweets</a> Michael Lee of the Washington Post. Porter will meet with the <strong>Pistons</strong> as well, <a href="https://twitter.com/Vincent_Ellis56/status/335056024769794048" target="_blank">tweets</a> Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.
