With nearly all of 2016’s most notable free agents off the board, it’s time to take an early look ahead to what next summer’s free agent period may look like. Our lists of 2017 free agents by position and by team are up to date, and are packed with interesting names.
We’ll publish the first installment of our 2017 free agent power rankings later this week, but before we reveal our list, we want to get your thoughts on next year’s potential free agent class.
Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap, Danilo Gallinari, Kyle Lowry, Gordon Hayward, Rudy Gay, and Greg Monroe are some of the players who could hit the open market, and those are just the guys with player options.
Stephen Curry, Zach Randolph, Serge Ibaka, Jeff Teague, Derrick Rose, George Hill, Jrue Holiday, and Andre Iguodala will highlight the unrestricted free agent group, while Giannis Antetokounmpo, Steven Adams, Rudy Gobert, Victor Oladipo, Nerlens Noel, and several others will be RFAs if they’re not extended this offseason.
Which free agents will be the most coveted next offseason? Which of those premier FAs may actually change teams, like Durant and Al Horford did this summer? Depending on whether Nerlens improves his offensive game this year I think we may see him leave in free agency if he isn’t traded. A team like the Lakers who desperately need help defensively down low could use him
If the Jazz disappoint again, look for Hayward too leave.
This is just my opinion, but I think that maybe Chris Paul will get tired of not winning, and might go for a championship somewhere else, like with one of the banana boat people, or with some other team like Spurs, Warriors etc. It’s likely not gonna happen. But if they under play and don’t get to the western conference finals, it’s possible we’re looking at the impossible like durant and he leaves to win.
well warriors is only possible if Steph leaves, and there is a small chance he might. the Warriors can’t keep this big 4 together and pay everyone what they’re worth, so someone’s going to have to take a discount, and I don’t think Steph, who’s arguably the best player is the world and has also been under paid his entire career will be the one to do it. I don’t think he’ll want to leave such s good team, but under armor might pressure him to do it so he doesn’t share a market with KD and Nike

Hope the Sixers max out Victor Oladipo and put him next to B.Simmons in the backcourt. Thunder already have Westbrook and Payne.
Don’t know that Oladipo fits with Sixers. With their frontcourt they need outside shooters, not slashers. Not ragging on his game. Like him as a player. Just don’t think he’s the proper fit in Philly.
