The Bulls have been linked to Jahlil Okafor and they continue to have conversations with the Sixers about acquiring the big man, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports (Twitter link). It’s unclear what Chicago is willing to give up in exchange for the former No. 3 overall pick.
The Sixers are reportedly seeking at least one first-rounder in exchange for Okafor, as I mentioned in the center’s Trade Candidate piece. The Pacers recently showed interest in Okafor after reports indicated they were willing to move their 2017 first-rounder in a trade.
Philadelphia discussed Okafor with the Pistons regarding a deal that would send Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to Philly, but Detroit was uninterested in such an offer. The Sixers previously had discussions with the Pelicans before they acquired DeMarcus Cousins and the team was close to shipping Okafor to Portland before the Blazers traded for Jusuf Nurkic.

Valentine and the bulls #1 for okafor.
Given that the Bulls don’t seem to be getting any better and its more than likely that they will move Butler at some point in time. I wonder if the Bulls would give up a unprotected 1st rounder in 2018 or 2019 and Valentine. As deep as this draft is another pick in the teens will not make the Sixers that much better. I rather gamble and hope the Bulls blow up the roster and rebuild.
I would love to trade Valentine and a pick for Okafor. Valentine has shown himself to be pretty mediocre. Will you take Bobby Portis too? We need to clear up room on the bench for Rondo to sit on.
I can’t believe anyone would question trading valentine and the bulls #1 for okafor. The sixers would be the team to balk at the trade.
Valentine can barely stick on this roster as it is and the bulls #1 pick isn’t bringing anything near to what okafor did last year in his rookie year at age 20… 18pts and 7 boards a game. The bulls need to get that kid.
No question as a Sixer i would balk at that trade if it was a 2017 pick. But a 2018 or 2019 unprotected pick sounds much better to me. Im betting on the bulls and Paxson & co will not be able to make this team better in the next 2 years.
Has Valentine been that bad? I know he’s been stuck on the bench but he is just a rookie. I don’t know if Chicago fans were expecting him to be a mini Draymond Green or something like that…but at least give him time.

A .44/.37/.88 shooting line while averaging 10 points and 3 rebounds a game. I think the numbers would disagree. Jeez it seems like all Bulls fans hate their draft picks. I don’t know if they hate the front office and by extension hate all their draft picks (which I get, but its unfair to the players) or if they’re expecting them to be the second comings of Michael Jordan. Seriously though, every article that mentions the Bulls and eventually talks about the roster, Bulls fans are smack talking the entire roster (with the few player–mainly Butler, Wade, and Gibson–and commentor exceptions here and there).
Since we are adding in food stuffs to Chicago trades, I suggest we also offer deep dish pizza if anyone will take Robin Lopez’ contract off our hands. That is a good deal, Robin will also hand deliver the pizza, and do a quick rendition of an “Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer” sketch in tribute to Phil Hartman.
Heck, if Philly gives us Okafor, we will even throw in the NBA rights to Rip Hamilton, and John Paxson will personally fly to Philly and give Colangelo a back rub, we just want to have another guy who can be introduced at the United Center with “…and FROM CHICAGO…”
If we can just get Milwaukee to trade us Jabari, and Cleveland to give us Shump, then we can do that 4 times during the intros. Imagine the cheers.
