Free agent forward Terrence Jones has agreed to sign with the Bucks for the remainder of the season, Shams Charania of The Vertical tweets. ESPN.com’s Marc Stein and Justin Verrier also tweet that Jones is poised to sign with Milwaukee.
The Pelicans waived him last Thursday after they were unable to deal him prior to the trade deadline. Jones appeared in 51 games, including 12 starts, for New Orleans and was averaging 11.5 PPG and 5.9 RPG in 24.8 MPG. He became expendable when the club acquired DeMarcus Cousins in a blockbuster trade with the Kings.
Jones spent the first four years of his career with the Rockets. He could quickly become a rotation piece for the Bucks, who have been seeking frontcourt help since Jabari Parker suffered a season-ending knee injury. Michael Beasley has received the bulk of the minutes at power forward since Parker was injured but is also out at least three games with a hyperextended knee.
Milwaukee is still in the playoff hunt, currently two games behind the Pistons, who hold the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
Jones’ representatives reportedly contacted the Celtics after he cleared waivers but ultimately passed on him, as they already had 15 players with guaranteed deals.

why pick him up if not signed for next year even if they mack the playoffs the Bucks will be eliminated in 4 games in a strong draft class in the 2017 draft . would rather be in the lottery and get the best draft pick they can.

Plenty of teams pick number two or three and the guy is a bust where is other teams pick 8 or 12 and get a star.
Even at 21 or 25 if you Scout properly you can get a great player. Tanking never works.
I wouldn’t say never. It doesn’t always work, but Philly is in good shape right now, and the Spurs tanked for Tim Duncan. That turned out ok. Others have too. Did the Knicks tank for Ewing? That draft was before my time.

Spurs got lucky that year too. Boston had worst record but Spurs lucked out and won 1st overall pick in lottery.
The Knicks did tank for Ewing, but that was the reason the draft lottery started in the first place. It doesn’t work that way now because the worst team is not guaranteed the #1 pick like it was then. Besides if tanking worked, then explain the Minnesota Timberwolves. 12 straight years of high lottery picks and really nothing to show for it.
Well the concept of tanking for good picks works. Drafting well with those picks is a different story.

Don’t see the fit here. How many 5s do they need? Surprised the heat weren’t in on this, but I guess Babbit actually knocking down shots since January made them hesitant to get rid of him?
Jones isn’t a 5. He’s a stretch four with some rim protecting skills (not great, but he’s not useless out there either).
Although, I just realized he’s not a great shooter. So he’s more of a tweener. He’s the slightest threat from outside, but he’s not great out there. He won’t clog the paint at least.
I’d agree he is more of a 4/5, but on a team like Milwaukee, he makes more sense as a 5 b/c of their lack of shooting

Unless Milwaukee got an exception for Parker? I hope they cut Vaughn to make room! Vaughn hasn’t done squat since being drafted. I say, keep Axel Toupone (Their D-League 10 day signee) and cut Vaughn! Mizra Teletovic can also go! he was suppose to be the answer for 3 point shooting 1 out of 3 last outing, and plays no defense! At 10 million a year, and 31 years old, time to go!
Teletovic would make the most sense since Jones is basically a stretch four.
Didn’t they get Giannis like mid first round and Brogdon in the late 1st-early 2nd. Bucks do draft well. Even tho they operate with a low budget. The drafted about half there roster. Better then most teams
