Jerry Sloan Withdraws Interest In Trail Blazers

Nearly a day after interviewing for Portland's coaching position with GM Neil Olshey, Jerry Sloan decided to remove himself from the Trail Blazers' list of coaching candidates (Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida reports). Although he declined to give reasons why the job no longer interested him, Sloan conceded that "it just didn't work out on my part" during a phone interview.

Although the Magic remain the only other team currently without a head coach, they have not made an effort to contact Sloan. While the former Jazz coach mentioned that he has not talked to any other team other than Charlotte and Portland this summer, it appeared that he still hasn't ruled out a return to coaching. When asked to what degree he desired to return to the NBA, Sloan said: "It depends on what I'm doing."
