Relationship Worsening Between Suns, Bledsoe

The relationship between the Suns and Eric Bledsoe appears to be souring further, as a source tells Chris Haynes of that an “ominous development” has emerged with both sides still very far apart in contract negotiations. The source adds that “the relationship is on the expressway to being ruined” at this point. This summer, Bledsoe had drawn significant interest from teams such as the Bucks and Jazz; however, Phoenix has effectively scared off potential suitors by making it clear that any offer sheet that the restricted free agent receives would be matched,

Prior to this update, we heard earlier this month that Phoenix was reportedly offering $48MM over four years; Bledsoe reportedly insisted on an $80MM deal over five seasons. Haynes mentions two sources who said that Phoenix’s offer included a decline in salaries each year. Not surprisingly, the proposal was quickly turned down.

He can do that by accepting a one year offer of 3.1 million for 2014-15. Then he’ll be UFA next year. Fact is, he’s just not worth the kind of money he’s asking for. Good for the Suns in holding the line to what the market has been paying other players with Bledsoe’s skill set and experience.

Bledsoe is screwed.. teams are all out of max cap space. he should take the 1 yr 3 million dollar deal on the table. bet on his self. i’m willing to bet a team like LA would offer him the max next off season. they have a whole at the pg spot next yr with LIN and nash be UFa

They’re letting the market be set for him, same thing with Monroe… if someone wants to offer them a bad contract they’ll let them go. If not, they’ll resign them for a reasonable figure.
