Jahlil Okafor appears to have offers waiting in China if he can’t find an NBA team to sign him, according to Emiliano Carchia of Sportando.
The third player taken in the 2015 draft, Okafor washed out in Philadelphia and didn’t play much after being traded to the Nets in December. He got into just 26 games with Brooklyn and averaged 6.4 PPG in 12.6 minutes per night.
Okafor is working out in Miami, but the Heat aren’t interested in signing him, Carchia writes. We detailed several other franchises that have apparently withdrawn their interest earlier this week, including the Nets, Pacers and Bulls. However, four teams sent representatives to Okafor’s recent workout in Las Vegas and he remains hopeful of catching on with someone before training camps open.

Tbh he wasn’t that bad his rookie year They were crowded with Embiid Noel and Okafor they must benched him after a decent rookie campaign he lost all confidence. Sixers got 0 value for him to because Coangelo refused to play him.
They got 0 value for him because he failed a physical with another team when Philly had a deal in place. So they ended up trading him to Brooklyn for nothing
How does Colangelo get blamed for that? Nobody is interested in Jah. It does not matter who his GM is.
That’s such a shame for the league when a guy as good & talented & young as him can’t find a team… Specially when the league is full of bums… SMH.

I don’t think it has anything to do with the system, unless by system you mean a league that has no use for 7ft’ers who don’t play D, cant pass, can’t shoot outside the paint, and rebound worse than most small forwards. Adding okafor to a roster would just increase the number of “bums” in the league by 1

You might be surprised to find out NBA teams actually employ people that know a little bit about basketball. So if he was as talented as you say he is and tbh as I thought he once was one would think that 1 of 30 teams may find a spot for him. One could make an argument that he wasn’t given much time or opportunity to prove himself. But you could also say that if someone is that bad NBA talent evaluators don’t need much of a sample size to figure it out. He was the 3rd pick 4 years ago! If 30 teams have no use for him that says something.

So many teams have nothing to lose and should really bring him. Even the Warriors let him ride the bench learn from Boogie. He wasn’t good by any means but I felt he could stick in the NBA
