Nuggets To Promote Calvin Booth To General Manager

Calvin Booth will be the next general manager in Denver, tweets Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Currently serving as assistant GM, Booth will be promoted to replace Arturas Karnisovas, who was hired this week as executive VP of basketball operations with the Bulls.

A league source confirmed the Nuggets‘ intentions to Mike Singer of the Athletic (Twitter link), but said the timing of an official announcement is uncertain because of the league’s hiatus.

Booth has served as assistant GM with Denver since 2017. After a 10-year playing career, he became a scout for New Orleans during the 2012/13 season, then joined Minnesota a year later, eventually becoming director of player personnel.

Must have been afraid that Arturas would offer him the Bulls’ GM and he’d have to say no thanks keep that s**t.

But kidding aside, congratulations to Calvin. Most of us can only dream of being an NBA GM or even working for an NBA front office in any capacity . Very nice accomplishment!

Having had ANYTHING to do with the Timberpuppy organization can hardly be considered a feather in ANYBODY’S cap.

One of the most genuinely nice guys ever… well deserved. And his dad, Calvin Booth, Sr., just passed away recently, so I’m super happy for Calvin, Jr. As a tall, gangly 11th grader you wouldn’t have thought he’d ever play 1 minute in the nba – let alone 10 years. And then to continue on in a front office… couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. No reason to see why he won’t keep on overachieving.
