Jazz forward/center Kyle Filipowski has officially been named the Summer League Most Valuable Player for 2025, the NBA announced today (via Twitter). Filipowski is also one of five players who earned a spot on the All-Summer League first team.
Here are the full All-Summer League teams, per the league (Twitter links):

- Nique Clifford (Kings)

- Jordan Miller (Clippers)
- Terrence Shannon Jr. (Timberwolves)
Second Team
- Ron Holland (Pistons)
- Isaac Jones (Kings)
- Kon Knueppel (Hornets)

- KJ Simpson (Hornets)
Filipowski, who is entering his second NBA season after playing 72 games as a rookie, appeared in a total of six Summer League contests (Salt Lake City and Las Vegas). He averaged 23.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 blocks in 27.6 minutes per game. He especially excelled in Las Vegas, averaging 29.3 PPG and 7.7 RPG in three outings.
Clifford, a rookie drafted with the No. 24 pick last month, posted averages of 15.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.2 steals in six contests. Jones-Garcia, who is seeking a contract, finished an eight-game summer campaign with averages of 22 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He posted averages of 21.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists in a handful of games in Vegas.
Miller (22.0, 7.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists) racked up impressive number in five summer games after being waived earlier this month by the Clippers. Entering his second season with Minnesota, Shannon (22.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists) excelled in three contests.
After competing in the Summer League championship game on Sunday, both the Hornets (Knueppel and Simpson) and Kings (Clifford and Jones) had multiple players recognized for their play in Las Vegas. Knueppel was named the MVP of the championship game.
Summer league stats are like baseball spring training stats. Just because somebody has a few good games doesn’t make them a good player.
Arc, I remember when Patrick Williams did a dribble between his legs, and hit a step back 3 in Year 2 of the summer league, and everyone in this city got excited and started the “Baby Kawhi” comparison.
Convinced because of that one play, AK decided to reward and justify his first pick ever. Lmao
I wonder if you remember that Cubs player that had a great spring and then hit 3 home runs on opening day. After that he did almost nothing the rest of the year.
Oh that was before my time. Tuffy Rhodes I believe and I was 8 years. I just googled him and he hit 13 HRs for his career. Lmao I love sports.
It’s worse than Spring Training. In ST, you pretty much know where the players will be when the regular season comes around. You’ll have a few surprises. With the SL, most of these guys are headed elsewhere. Kind of a meat market. The Warriors top scorer already signed with the Lakers.
In SL i didn’t see much defense and a lot of bog hogging by players to make na impression. Only player that stood out to me was the Trailblazers Center Yang. The guy can pass like Jokic.
You kinda gotta be a good player to be there in the first place…
Doesnt make you an All-Star, obviously.
But, you wouldn’t be there if you weren’t a good player.
Like I said, should be on Boston’s roster.
I think you previously said Kyle Filiposki. I believe it was said he was controlled by family and some religion and that’s why he slipped down in the draft.
That’s crazy….not even drafted and calling shots for religious beliefs. You practise whatever your beliefs anywhere you like. Wasn’t aware your address came into it. Also letting someone slide or thinking any less of them due to said beliefs is also crazy. Anyways, Kyle be getting better with action the next few yrs. Good luck to him.
Drew Timme? Made BR’s all-SL 1st team iirc.
You read bleacher report?
Jazz have a bunch of talented big men.
Only the fool fans find something to love in SL. The competition is better. You ain’t looking at personal achievements. You are looking at talent and competing. Its a team game always. There is still plenty to look for. Just don’t get carried away.
Kyle has talent as a big. Unfortunately he is in Utah. Not about being a player. It’s about finding your place and owning it. If you are not getting better every yr. Then either your team. Or you need to look in the mirror. SL is a place to show you are worth investing in. Team sport ……. try and learn that.
NBA really goes out of their way for participation trophies.
I love how Darius Bazley doesn’t exist all of a sudden. No updates on his injury, no mention of his play.
Kind of irritating that there’s no update on his knee so far, agreed.
My favorite part of summer league this year was watching the Kings fanbase give delusional takes on Nique. I’ve seen so many people heralding him as Sac’s savior.
This is how I tell the difference between Kings fans and Kings enjoyers. If you still have hope, you haven’t been here long enough.
