Hornets forward Miles Bridges has generated “significant” trade interest as the February 5 deadline approaches, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic, who reports that the Bucks, Warriors, and Suns are among the teams eyeing the 27-year-old.
Bridges, who is earning $25MM this season, is under contract for $22.8MM in 2026/27, so the Hornets aren’t facing any urgency to make a decision on him right away. And they’re unlikely to move him unless a potential trade partner is willing to step up and meet their asking price, Amick writes.
“They want a first (round pick),” one league source told The Athletic. “Maybe two.”
The 12th overall pick in 2018, Bridges has spent his entire NBA career in Charlotte, starting 363 of his 468 regular season games for the team since entering the league. In 2025/26, he has averaged 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in 32.8 minutes per contest.
Bridges isn’t an elite defender or shooter — he has made a modest 44.3% of his attempts from the floor this season, including 33.2% of his three-point tries. Still, the 6’7″ forward has averaged over 20 points per game across his past three-and-a-half seasons, has good size and versatility for a wing, and is very durable, having never played fewer than 64 games in a season (he has appeared in 44 of 45 this year).
Of course, teams with interest in Bridges will also need to consider his off-court history. The former Michigan State standout lost a full season in 2022/23 after he was arrested on felony domestic violence charges just ahead of his restricted free agency. He later accepted a plea deal in that case and had three criminal counts related to separate domestic allegations dismissed. Bridges, who was suspended at the start of the ’23/24 season, hasn’t been in any legal trouble during the past two seasons.
The Hornets aren’t particularly enthusiastic about acquiring forward Kyle Kuzma, per Amick, which is one obstacle complicating a potential deal with the Bucks. There are other trade candidates on Milwaukee’s roster, but Kuzma and his $22.4MM salary would be the most logical outgoing piece.
A trade with Golden State would likely involve forward Jonathan Kuminga, whose $22.5MM salary is a near match for Bridges’ cap hit. It’s unclear whether Charlotte has any interest in the former No. 7 overall pick.
Phoenix’s interest is notable given the fact that Bridges shares an alma mater with Suns owner Mat Ishbia, though Ishbia’s team is reportedly reluctant to risk upsetting its positive chemistry by making a significant in-season move.

Keep Bridges in the Team Hornets no trade this season👍
I can only speak for myself but if I was a player, I would struggle to share a locker room with a someone who I know beat up on a woman. Perhaps he’s learned and changed and if so, more power to him. But personally, it would always be in the back of my mind that this guy is a coward and a scumbag.
He’s just the one who was caught.
idk man, you gotta give people the opportunity to earn trust again. he has gone 2 years without incident. i don’t see him being an impact player on a championship caliber team though.
Go look at the pictures of what she looked like. That kind of beating isn’t a one a done kind of thing. This guy is a dirt bag.
Not beating the hell out of a woman because it would cost you tens of millions of dollars is not as honorable as you’re alluding.
You say that, but I wonder where you work at. I’m pretty sure there’s plenty of people on every job who has DUIs hit women done a bunch of criminal activity that they either got off on or just under the enough to they could get the job. So yeah morally I will say there’s people who work for me that I don’t like but I would never not promote him or do certain things if they’re getting the job done. His personal life is his personal life and as a professional you got to be a professional. Honestly I get it. I don’t respect him as a man as a father as any of that cuz you don’t put your hands on women at all but you still have to be a professional
His girlfriend did many scary and sketchy things not to defend Bridges but it is not as cut and dry as you state.
I work in corporate insurance. I’m not against giving people who have committed a crime or crimes my time, I am for the crime of beating on women though. People make mistakes but bashing girls is too big a mistake for me.
I’m sure there would be people I work with who would have done that, they wouldn’t have been charged though as they would have been gone if the company found out. I did have a mate from high school that we found out hit his wife. As a group of mates, it was a unanimous decision that he was dead to us and haven’t spoken to him since.
“..the Bucks, Warriors, and Suns are among the teams eyeing the 27-year-old.”
Let’s face it, the Warriors are eyeing every single player in the league !!
Good, get this wifebeating scumbag outta here and give Salaun and McNeeley more minutes.
I like what you guys have going there. Another good draft and next year I could see them really rising in the standings. Love it for that fan base. Charlotte is such an under rated city!
Ishbia’s Spartan fetish will never not be funny
Anything they get for Bridges asset wise would be a slam dunk for the Hornets organization considering he was almost cut and wasn’t going to receive anything for him after his off court arrest. If you can land a 1st rd pick in this draft, that would be great. You already have Kon and Miller so Kuminga wouldnt make sense. Maybe a 3 way deal where Kuminga lands on a 3rd team and the Hornets receive assets and expiring contracts.
And trade Ball
Love it! Totally agree about Bridges and Kuminga; I though would try and raise Lamelo’s value a lot before trading him (especially after seeing that pathetic Hawks/Trae young deal) and that’s just gonna be too tough to do before the trade deadline imo
Why would anyone want to trade for a wife beater? Teams can do better.
Good riddance! Hornets need Bridges gone, like yesterday; He’s long been an embarrassment for the Hornets (read above comments if not familiar), and they need to strike while the irons hot and flip him for the best first round pick they’re offered! I would also say for me, strong pass on Kuminga and Kuzma; both seem like fifth or sixth options on a really good team and not real difference makers 🤷🏼
Bridges and Josh Green with a pick for Grayson Allen, O’Neale and Khaman Maluach
Waive Reeves and sign a young young PG
