February 6: Doncic will undergo an MRI on his left hamstring on Friday, head coach JJ Redick confirmed after Thursday’s victory, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
“Yeah, he felt some soreness in his hamstring, so he didn’t feel like it was good enough to go back in,” Redick said. “Neither did (our) medical (staff), so we held him out. And he’ll get some imaging. I mean, too early to say if there’s an injury, but just had a sore hamstring.”
February 5: Lakers star Luka Doncic experience left leg soreness in Thursday’s game vs. Philadelphia and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest, the team announced (Twitter link via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin).
According to Jovan Buha (Twitter link), the Slovenian guard was grabbing at his hamstring for a couple of possessions prior to leaving the court. He was also holding his hamstring when he went to the locker room with 3:03 remaining in the second quarter, tweets Brad Turner of The Los Angeles Times.
Obviously, any type of hamstring injury is very concerning for an athlete. The Lakers will be hoping Doncic’s soreness is simply that and not a strain, which would likely sideline him for multiple weeks.
Doncic, 26, has missed eight games to this point in 2025/26. Through 41 appearances, the NBA’s leading scorer has averaged 33.4 points, 8.7 assists, 7.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 36.0 minutes per game. His shooting slash line is .475/.348/.779.
Austin Reaves is currently on a minutes restriction in his second game back from a calf strain, but he’s a candidate for more on-ball responsibilities if Doncic misses additional time. LeBron James and trade addition Luke Kennard are among the other Lakers who could receive more usage depending on the severity of Doncic’s injury.

Got in shape and seems to get injured more.
Losing weight and being in shape aren’t the same.
Not really. Although I’m a huge fan of Luka Dončić, Nico Harrison was right about one thing, his durability. He still made the dumbest trade in NBA history but the next time Luka plays more than 72 regular season games will be the first time.
Glass
What was that AD?
Mr. Oden maybe.
GLASS
Has never played 80+ games (he’s 26 turning 27)
Has only played 70+ twice 70 and 72 (again he’s 26 turning 27)
Has almost 90 different times he’s been listed with an injury since his rookie year

Almost no one plays 80+ games, and with being an 82 game season, three rest days pushes a guy below that threshold.
70+ is reasonable to say, but 80+ is asking a lot from any NBA player.
Twice the glass is still glass.
The dudes missed 10+ games his entire
Career
82 games in 7 years (I don’t remember how many we had during Covid) is 574 games
He’s played 426 games (not accounting for his covid games)
That’s roughly 75% of games he’s played in meaning he’s playing in 3 out of every 4 and missing 1 out of every 4.
Those numbers aren’t gonna get better as he misses another season of 10+ games
Why does a 23 24 25 year old need rest btw
I don’t think there is a single person alive that thinks the AD for Luka trade was good for Mavs. So even if Doncic misses the rest of the season that trade would still be a win for Lakers. He’s prolly out for a month, tops.
Lakers will never win a title with Luka.
That’s a very brave prediction on your part. Only one team wins every season. Even if Luka plays 8-10 more seasons the odds against him, just like anyone else in the league.
Sorry let me be more clear. Lakers will never win a title because of Luka……unlike their previous title with what stars?
Once the circus-show distractions, known as LeBron James and Rich Paul, are gone and mostly forgotten (maybe except by those LA sports fans who think the Lakers franchise began sometime in the 20-teens), there’s a pretty good chance the new ownership group will be able to surround Luka with a better group of talent – while still in his prime – than he had his lone Finals trip with Dallas. I wouldn’t be surprised if Luka gets his first ring before the decade is up.
There are people who believe the whole thing was fixed & that the acquisition of Cooper Flagg was part of the deal. For those people, the AD for Luka trade turned out well for both sides.
Those people also likely believe that extraterrestrials live among us and vaccines are bad for humans. I don’t understand how people can believe that the NBA draft is fixed to favor certain teams and still care about the league. How does this conspiracy take into account Wemby going to SA? Don’t answer, because I’ve learned that the conspiracy minded can justify and explain any inconsistency in their fantasy because no facts are required, just strongly held beliefs.
Phoenix is a curse. They are are like a curse,
Workout in the off-season did not work so well?
I don’t think the Lakers fans will be as forgiving as the Mavericks fans if Luka keeps having these injuries and fails to compete for a championship in the next couple of seasons.
I think he’s done…
They should do an MIA on his defense …….😳🤑😭
All these haters hating on Luka? Maybe because he’s better than the best player on your team & probably your teams entire history!
I “hated” on Bird and Magic because they beat Dr.J as well as the Rockets. That’s who I rooted for in the 80’s.
I “hated” on Jordan because I just wanted anyone to beat him, except for Stocton and Malone. 😂
I even “hated” on Kobe and Shaq.
Luka hasn’t done anything worthy of being “hated” on.
Those guys put winning championships as a priority in their careers.
We can’t say that about Luka.
And by “hated” on I just mean rooted against.
I recognize the greatness of those players.
