Hornets Waive Alabi, Wright
John Reid of the Times-Picayune reports that the New Orleans Hornets have released center Solomon Alabi and guard Chris Wright. These moves bring the Hornets' roster down to 14, which means it appears their regular-season roster is set barring a late signing.
Alabi played briefly for the Toronto Raptors last season but spent most of the year in the D-League. Wright played in Turkey last season. Both were signed by New Orleans prior to training camp.
Wizards Waive Steven Gray, Shavlik Randolph
The Wizards have waived camp invitees Steven Gray and Shavlik Randolph, the team announced via press release. The subtraction of the pair, both of whom were on non-guaranteed deals, leaves the team with 17 players, meaning at least two more cuts are still to come. Earl Barron, Brian Cook, Shelvin Mack and Jannero Pargo are all without full guarantees on their deals. Mack has a partial guarantee for $300K, while Pargo's contract also includes an unknown partially guaranteed amount.
Randolph went undrafted out of Duke in 2005, but has played in parts of five NBA season, his last action coming in 2009/10. He played last year in Puerto Rico and China, and averaged 2.2 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10.0 minutes over five preseason games this month. Gray saw just eight total minutes in two preseason games as he was a part of his first NBA camp since going undrafted out of Gonzaga.
Grizzlies Waive Dupree, Jordan, Murray
The Grizzlies have let go of Ronald Dupree, Jerome Jordan and Ronald "Flip" Murray, tweets Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, clearing the last of the team's non-guaranteed contracts from the books. Memphis is down to 13 players, which is the minimum it can carry.
Dupree, 31, has played in parts of six NBA regular seasons, but spent last year playing overseas in Italy and Argentina. He averaged 3.5 points in 13.1 minutes over six preseason games this year. Jordan has been linked to teams in China while still in camp this month, so he could be headed overseas after appearing in 21 games last season for the Knicks. The 33-year-old Murray is a veteran of eight NBA seasons, but hasn't played in the league since 2009/10. He played three games in the D-League last year, an unconventional destination for a player of his age.
Clippers Waive Marqus Blakely
The Clippers have waived guard Marqus Blakely, as Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times tweets. He was the team's last player on a non-guaranteed deal, leaving L.A.'s roster at the regular-season limit of 15.
Blakely failed in his third attempt in as many years to make an NBA team out of training camp. The undrafted 6'5" University of Vermont product was also with the Clippers for the 2010 preseason, and went to Rockets camp last year. He appeared in three preseason games with the Clippers this year after signing in September, but failed to score a point.
The rest of the Clippers all have fully guaranteed deals, so the team's roster appears to be set for opening night.
Heat Cut Garrett Temple
The Heat have waived point guard Garrett Temple, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports (Twitter link). The move brings Miami's roster to the regular-season limit of 15. Terrel Harris, Josh Harrellson, Dexter Pittman and James Jones, all thought to be competing for a roster spot at one time or another, appear as though they've made it to opening night. Winderman believes the good health of starting point guard Mario Chalmers made Temple expendable (Twitter link).
Hawks Waive James Anderson, Damion James
The Hawks waived their last pair of players on non-guaranteed deals, cutting ties with James Anderson and Damion James, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports via Twitter. The team's roster is down to 14 players, 13 of whom have fully guaranteed deals. Kyle Korver has a partial guarantee of $500K on his $5MM deal, but he seems unlikely to be let go.
Knicks Waive Bellfield, Shurna, Thompson, Sims
The Knicks waived four players to get down to the 15-man roster limit today, cutting ties with Oscar Bellfield, John Shurna, Mychel Thompson and Henry Sims, as Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today reports (Twitter link). Shurna and Sims had partial guaranteed of $50K, while Bellfield's and Thompson's contracts were non-guaranteed. The moves likely mean Chris Copeland, who has a non-guaranteed deal, will be on the Knicks opening-night roster.
Cavs Waive Eric, Jones, Brown
The Cavs have waived Micheal Eric, Kevin Jones and D'Aundray Brown, the team reports via Twitter. The moves bring the team's roster down to the regular-season limit of 15. Eric's deal was partially guaranteed for $300K, while Jones had a partial guarantee of $50K. Brown's contract was non-guaranteed.
Sam Amico of Fox Sports Ohio tweets that Brown appears headed to the team's D-League affiliate in Canton, while it's unclear whether Eric will wind up there. Jones will likely go elsewhere, Amico says.
Lakers Cut Goudelock, Will Waive Johnson-Odom
The Lakers have waived Andrew Goudelock, Mike Trudell of Lakers.com tweets. Emiliano Carchia of Sportando reports the team will also waive fellow camp invitee Darius Johnson-Odom, who has a deal lined up with the Ukrainian club Azovmash Mariupol. The subtraction of both players, who were on non-guaranteed deals, will leave the Lakers with a roster count of 14, one fewer than the regular-season limit.
The Lakers took Goudelock with the 46th overall pick in the 2011 draft, and the 6'3" guard was in the team's rotation early last season, when he wound up averaging 4.4 points in 10.5 minutes per game with an 8.4 PER. A deeper backcourt in L.A. this year squeezed him out, however. Johnson-Odom, also a 6'3" guard, was the 55th overall pick in this year's draft, but didn't get much time in the preseason, averaging just 1.5 PPG in 4.8 MPG over four contests.
The moves appear to signal Robert Sacre, the team's only other player on a non-guaranteed deal, has made the team. The Lakers could opt to carry only 13 players, though, and if they do so, or decide to sign someone else, they could cut Sacre anytime between now and January 10th without being on the hook for a full season's salary.
Mavericks Sign Ely, Douglas-Roberts

THURSDAY, 7:51pm: Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas reports that the Mavericks have agreed to sign Melvin Ely and Chris Douglas-Roberts to non-guaranteed contracts. Both additions are expected to compete with Eddy Curry for the 15th and final roster spot.
Ely last played in the NBA during the 2010-11 season for the Nuggets, averaging 2.3 PPG, 2.5 RPG, and 12.2 MPG in 30 games. He had most recently played for Brujos de Guayama of the Baloncesto Superior Nacional in Puerto Rico, where he averaged 8.0 PPG and 5.6 RPG in five games after signing with the team in March.
Douglas-Roberts was recently waived by the Lakers after appearing in four pre-season games, averaging 4.0 PPG and 45.5% shooting in 8.3 MPG.
