Suns Seek Expiring Deal, Second-Rounder For Knight

The Suns are seeking an expiring contract and a high second-round pick for combo guard Brandon Knight, Sam Amick of USA Today tweets.

As we pointed out in our Trade Candidate series last month, Phoenix has been actively shopping Knight since the offseason, with the emergence of Devin Booker making him expendable. The Suns have talked to the Magic, Kings, Sixers and Bulls about Knight, who still has three years and nearly $44MM remaining on his contract after this season.

Knight, 25, has seen his playing time diminish this season and he briefly dropped out of the rotation. He’s averaging 11.0 PPG and 2.4 APG in 21.1 MPG this season, after posting a career-high 19.4 PPG and 5.1 APG in 36.0 MPG last season.

  1. How about Tyreke Evans and a 2018 2nd rounder for Knight; I think its a great trade for the rebuild

That actually would be a really good trade for both sides. As a Bucks fan I would like to see Knight come back for Henson or Hibbert(expiring contract) and a second.

      • I can just imagine Vlade reading hoops rumors and then being like you know what that is a good trade and then calling the suns!

This has Washington Wizards written all over it; Trey Burke plus their 2nd rounder for Brandon Knight would give them a great backup PG on an affordable contract.

    • That definitely doesn’t work cap wise. Plus, that would basically prevent the Wizards from resigning Porter (or it would put them into cap hell).

Arrogance to think that someone will give them anything of value for Knight. He has one of the worst contracts in the league and has been terrible this year

      • Its barely going up (I think the soft cap is going up by like $4 million) and then the cap for the next two years is projected to be a flat cap (as in no increase).

Nets need this man he’s cheap they have the cap and they NEED a PG/Sg when Lin comes back they put Knight at SG while RHJ plays SF nice lineup , they don’t have their pick so won’t hurt them
