The Bucks have officially signed forward Terrence Jones and released Axel Toupane from his 10-day contract, the team reports in a press release on its website. Milwaukee’s roster now sits once again at 15.
Toupane, whose 10-day deal was set to expire today anyway, will presumably return to the Raptors 905 of the D-League as Chris Reichert of The Step Back speculated earlier today. He saw action in two games with the Bucks during his NBA stint but had a negligible impact in the 6 minutes he saw on the floor.
In Jones the Bucks get an intriguing 25-year-old big man who’s flashed potential with both the Rockets and Pelicans previously. Jones averaged 11.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game in 51 games with New Orleans this season but was released when the club added DeMarcus Cousins.
Jones – who has been signed for the remainder of the season – will wear No. 6 for the Bucks, according to the press release.
Should have kept Toupane, and released either Vaughn, or Teletovic. Both are useless, and just a roster space. Jones should help right away. At least it will keep Teletovic off the floor, Until Beasley gets back!

Vaughn is still quite young (20) and has shown flashes at times while Teletovic is still under contract for the next two seasons and owed $21MM. No need to cut him just to eat his salary. If they are so inclined to move on from Telly they can easily move him in the offseason. Toupane looked confused/lost in the little action he did see and was the sensible choice.
Vaughn is young but he will never be a key player in the rotation and because of teletovic contact you can’t do anything with until the off season.
Vaughn has been sent down to D league 3 times already. Teletovic here of late, couldn’t hit a barn with a basketball, even if he was standing inside of it! @ 20 yrs. old, Vaughn looks very lost, Plays no defense, and can’t remember which person to guard? Toupane was only in for 3 minutes, in 10 days. If he had the time Vaughn has had, he would have been the better choice to keep. The Bucks are probably kicking themselves now, Knowing they should have drafted Bobby Portis (Now with the Chicago Bulls) instead of Vaughn. At the very least, Postis can at least shoot a 3 ball, Does rebound, and plays defense. Finally, and Hopefully, by next season, J Kidd will also be gone! If Lasry (One of the owners) wasn’t his boss AND personal finance advisor, Kidd would have never come to the Bucks, (Who also gave up 2 2nd rd. picks for him!) Hopefully if Jones works out, as Beasley has, Milwaukee will keep him, as Parker has a long road ahead of him to recover!!
I don’t agree with your take on Vaughn. You must not even watch the games, he plays better defense than anyone gives him credit for, and will continue to develop on that side of the ball as he gains strength, which will also help him keep his shooting consistency. I totally agree with your takes on Teletovic and Kidd though. Teletovic takes bad shots and way too many of them and that’s all he really does. Kidd doesn’t use his talent enough. John Henson could be an elite rim protector with more minutes and when he gets those minutes he puts up a very good point output.
