The NBA has handed out the punishments for the fourth-quarter scuffle between the Knicks and Grizzlies brawl on Wednesday night.
According to the league, Knicks guard Elfrid Payton has been suspended one game for pushing Jae Crowder at the end of the contest. Grizzlies players Jaren Jackson Jr. and Marko Guduric have each been suspended one game for leaving the bench.
Crowder, who took the late-game three-pointer that irked the Knicks, did not get suspended but instead will receive a $25K fine. Marcus Morris has also been fined $35K for his role in escalating the fight.
The Memphis players will serve their suspensions on Friday when the team plays the Pelicans in New Orleans. Payton will miss Saturday’s contest against the Pacers.

There’s nothing more annoying than players crying about unwritten rules, don’t get the ball stolen don’t be down by 15, if you are who cares if he shoots it or not, maybe a bush league move by crowder but certainly a baby league move by Payton

This right here. Dude gets paid to play the game. Payton acted childish, when he chased after Crowder he didn’t know he was going to shoot. He was made the ball got swiped and was going after him any ways.

He has to play on the run. The slow-down game was going to hurt a player already a bit inflated playing in fast systems.
Payton has to be tough considering he had that awful haircut for so long.

Knicks seemed more angry that they suck then anything
There was still 48 seconds left. Are the grizzlies just supposed to stand there and do nothing? It was an awful inbound pass. The game still had time left. Payton is frustrated with the losing culture and that’s what happens when frustration boils over
Payton is fortunate, getting only the 1 game (same as the mandatory leaving the bench penalty). I was thinking 2-3 games.
