Marvin Bagley III Out At Least Three More Weeks

It’s turning into a lost sophomore season for Marvin Bagley III, who remains sidelined with a left foot injury. The Kings announced today in a press release that Bagley, whose injury is a mid-foot sprain, continues to work through the “reconditioning” process under the supervision of team doctors and foot specialist Dr. Martin O’Malley.

According to the Kings, the next update on Bagley’s status will come in three weeks, which means he’ll remain on the shelf through at least March 12. Even if last year’s No. 2 overall pick is ready to get back on the court at that point, which is hardly a lock, he’ll miss Sacramento’s next 11 games and would return with just one month left in the season.

Bagley had a promising rookie season for the Kings in 2018/19, averaging 14.9 PPG and 7.6 RPG in 62 games (25.3 MPG). He was expected to be a key player in the team’s push for a postseason berth this year, but has been limited to just 13 games due to health issues.

Bagley is one of several important Kings players who have battled injuries this season. De’Aaron Fox, Richaun Holmes, and Bogdan Bogdanovic have each missed between 11 and 19 games so far.

  1. i hate my father

Bagley is going to be the new Greg Oden, probaly out of the league or a shell of his former self in 5 years.

I don’t know about that. But one thing is for sure the Kings look like complete idiots drafting him over Doncic.

At least Atlanta got another superstar like Trae, not many regrets in there, I mean no doubt Luka is way better but… boy can Trae ball!!! He is outrageously insane!
Sacramento did real bad… no silver lining for them… at all!

  2. Bagley shouldn’t have been picked higher than #4 in that draft, but it’s not like the Kings reached that much taking him at #2. He was a surefire top 4, and should have been a VERY safe pick, albeit without the projected upside of Ayton, Doncic and JJ. It may still turn out that way. He was the consensus #1 player in his class both as a HS senior and a college FR. He was one of the most skilled American big men to come into the draft at 19 in the AAU era. But he does need to stay healthy, obviously.

Bagley sucks as an NBA player. I challenge anyone to name 1 skills he’s above average at except jumping. And btw, Atlanta got Trae Young AND a top 5 protected first rounder that turned into2019 #10 pick Cam Reddish. Kings could have done something very similar considering they likely coulda got Bagley later
