The winner of this season’s MVP award will be revealed on “NBA on TNT” at 7:00 pm Eastern time on May 2, the league announced (via Twitter).
The race has the potential to be very close, with Sixers center Joel Embiid, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Bucks big man Giannis Antetokounmpo all having submitted strong arguments for the award. They were announced as the finalists on April 14.
Embiid is considered the favorite to win the honor after capturing his second consecutive scoring title at 33.1 PPG. He also averaged 10.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.7 blocks in 66 games.
Jokic won the last two MVP trophies, and for most of the season it seemed like he was in a good position to claim three in a row. At 24.5 PPG, his scoring average was down from the last two seasons, but he averaged 11.8 rebounds and 9.8 assists in 69 games while leading Denver to the top seed in the Western Conference.
Antetokounmpo, also a two-time winner, put together another strong campaign with a career-high 31.1 PPG, along with 11.8 rebounds and 5.7 assists in 63 games as Milwaukee posted the league’s best record. The votes were cast before the playoffs began, so the Bucks’ first-round exit won’t affect his chances.

MOP should go to Ben Simmons or Zion, you can even make a case for Kawhi Leonard who in my opinion other than John Wall is the biggest bum in the sport. All of these guys should be in jail for stealing millions of dollars from these teams. In the latest CBA negotiations, Draymond Green said “The players lose again” meanwhile hes making almost 30 million this year, Ben Simmons at 40 mill, Kawhi at 40 mil, etc. If I were the owners, I’d go on strike. These players think its so easy to run a league. The NBA would be better off with a 3 year lockout strategy and hope the players cave into their demands. Lebron might be ok with a lockout, hes already made his millions, but these young players still want their money. Its gotten out of hand where role players who barely play half a season make 20 mil a year. Dogs like Kyrie and Kawhi play a third of the season if you are lucky, then have the audacity to requests trades

Honestly as a Nuggets fan, Jokic could care less about the MVP unless it’s MVP of the Championship. His shot is off because of his wrist and he is getting sick of fans yelling MVP when he’s on the free throw line. He’s even more annoyed with stupid questions from reporters currently.
Rigged NBA still waiting. Silver will say no to Joel E because he is injured. He will say no to Giannis loosing. So he will pick the no playing defense center who is overated. Maybe a rich man’s W Unsled idk. Cannot block one shot a game for his whole career lol
