VJ is the man ……. Looks like next Vinsanlty …
Too high tor Kon imo. He’s a big IQ guy. And being from Duke is why they took him. He is a killer shooter
Best pick is 20
Heat pick
The Best crying face I have ever seen is
Brother of Danny Wolf
Too exciting
2nd round pick you can expect
Jokic – 41
Ginobili – 57
Brunson – 33
Bailey is going to Washington …. They can’t pass on him
Not if Utah can do something about that.
Poor Ace, wanted to go to Wash and ended up in Utah.
I hope he takes Danny down with him …..
Not a fan ….. the Kon is a better shooter. I would have taken Fears …
Fears is a solid PG …. Wash needs a PG more than a scorer. What does this mean for Murray ??
Nets better take Maluach now please
Another bust for the Hornets.
Nets ……… Maluach .. lets go
Nets are crazy – 4 guards and a fwd? Did you see this?
link to si.com
And 3 of the guards are Euro PG’s.
This is an analytics driven front office that believes to develop a particular type of player, the best approach is to draft several candidates and watch.
Wolf and Demin are ok. But I take Maluach and Kasparas. No way the French guard goes before Kasparas. Nets need guard play. They should be looking at best talent available. Don’t get it lol.
In my opinion, Kasparas is very close to a finished product. You’re getting what you’re drafting, same as with a 23-year-old. The weaknesses he’s got will remain, and I don’t think he will find new sides to his game.
They’re looking for someone with upside. I don’t mind the way they drafted the French guy.
Windy is an idiot.
Are you serious ……. No no no
Like him just ahead of Maluach. What idiots. Now Raptors are jumping for joy.
There is a big Russian community in Bklyn lols …..
Also a big Jewish population in NY. So those two picks are part of that. Nets need more loyal fans in NYC. Maluach and Jakucionis, can’t believe tgey passed on both ….. big mistake imo.
They didn’t draft these guys because of their ethnicity. Come on.
Al is being kinda clueless. Jakunois is Lithuanian. Lithuanians and Russians have been enemies for awhile. Malauch is from Southern Sudan. Not at all close to Russia.
Crazy ….. another SF …. Basically another OG.
Raptors are idiots. Maluach makes them top 6 in East …..
100% the worst pick of this draft and I’m a CMB fan, just a terrible fit and Maluach was right there ….
Hah. I would love to go back to this post a year from now. 😆
> I’m a CMB fan, just a terrible fit and Maluach was
> right there.
That’s certainly a popular take. Here’s what Raptors say…
Maluach has awesome tools but he’s still raw. Consider that NBA teams rated Maluach lower than posters here assumed. A bunch of teams that were supposed to be interested in Maluach passed.
Toronto said it wants to compete NOW, and was looking for players that can help in the near-term. They acquired Brandon Ingram to go with Barnes, Barrett, and Quickley. Jakob Poetl is a polished C and will contribute more than Maluach in the near term.
You think dude is that good? I think he is a bust.
Suns should take Maluach or Queen ….
Suns lucked out man. Nets will regret this …
Surprised there hasn’t been a single trade after 10 picks now …..
Me too . I think one is coming. Tgey said the Grizz did something.
Maluach is Mutombo with offense. He is still learning to play. He will be dominant one day. Good for him .
Clint Capela
I strongly disagree …. He just took it up at 13 yrs old. Next 5 yrs you will see magic.
You go from bust to Clint ….. when you learn the game …. In 20 yrs . come back.
I think he will be a bust but his ceiling is Clint Capela. Let’s not forget you were the same dude on here hollering about Spencer Dinwiddie being a missing piece and turning the Knicks around. Where is he now?
Another dumb pick …. Queen should have been the pick. They will regret it. Bulls have all wings now. He plays same position as Buzellis …. What’s the point.
Fire the scouts right now ……
Queen is there for Minny. Teams will regret letting him slide. Minny just got a future star ….
Thought Minny was going to…
Great trade for Dumars …. Cut Zion today. Queen is a serious talent. He gets in shape he will be s star ….
Good pick for Spurs. Man Spurs are super deep and young ….. just crazy man.
OMG. talk about the best getting better.
Love this pick …..
OKC can trade IHart no problem now ……. He is going to be great next to Chet ….. WOW
Big is in !!!!!!!!all the geniuses here who have been telling me for years. That centers are not in game anymore. That the game has changed………
What did I tell you. Espyall the Warriors small ball clan …’you can’t teach size. Only Centers can be rim protectors. Half the gm is on defense ……
Are you leaning yet ……
Don Nelson traded for Manute Bol. He had a lot of 7-footers. Why can’t you have big men and play small ball? It has been going on for decades.
Really ……. I have been teaching this board for years. Especially the Warriors fans who always tell me the big man is gone. You are like 10 yrs late.
You can’t teach size. I say that. The first to say it. I taught that here. 80% of the clowns here went wild ….. still teaching. See all the bigs drafted …..
Who was telling you big men are gone? It definitely wasn’t me. Just because you have size doesn’t mean you can play.
> You can’t teach size. I say that. The first to say it. I
> taught that here.
Al, I can attest to never hearing anybody else say that.
Until the rest of the basketball world awakens, the folks on this board are grateful to you.
😆
Bklyn needed a PG …., Kasparas ?????
Can’t believe he is still there .
Kasparas should of went lottery. They will regret passing on him. He’s in a good place. So happy for him ….. Can’t believe Nets passed on Maluach and Kasparas. I should definitely have a job there.
Unbelievable …..
Newell is a solid pick for Hawks …. A teal 4 finally.
Not impressed by Nets …. I’m available …
Finally a Nets pick I like ….
Nets probably had the worst showing today 5 picks and 3 of them on 3 foreign point guards that can’t shoot.
I like Powell, Wolf is fine and Demin is alright but should’ve been a lot more active on trades
There was absolutely no reason for the Nets to hold onto all of those picks.
Yeah ……. Definitely can see that.
All guards and wings. Don’t know what to make of it yet. I’m a-big Maluach and Jakucionis guy. Suxxx lol
I like Demin a lot. He is NOT a PG. He is an NBA SF. A wing with size and a handle. This kid has a big future. Great vision and solid handle. Has NBA size now. He’s a solid pick at 10. Just I don’t take him ahead of Maluach. Maluach can steady your team on one side of the ball . Thats what a true defensive center can do for your team.
Maluach will be god sent to Suns. He can give them mins just as a defender. Should learn quick. Unfortunately Suns don’t have a true PG. Still a great pick for Suns.
Does the name Hasheem Thabeet mean anything to you??
Don’t get the raptors pick at all. Maluach was available!
Can someone with a brain please ban or sanction Nico, the HOU GM, and the Nets? Paper-bag-on-the-head situations that people wouldn’t even do with their fantasy teams
might be the most Nets thing I’ve ever seen
Nets were likely high on who they picked at 8 due to his time in Real Madrid’s academy.
RM’s academy sounds more like an indictment than an endorsement, right?
Nets are going for the best team in the league this year. It is just the G-league.
ESPN draft coverage is so bad. It’s downright AWFUL.
But would you get under Malika’s 2nd apron?
@ Ancientone….violently.
Warriors have their Center …… Or do they
An NBA ready at #41 in the draft, what are you smoking? I think you need to layoff the chronic.
Any real Center Warriors can add is a plus……. Only you talk NBA ready ….
Raynaud is a player who started playing ball late in life. He is stll learning the game really. He is ready to help next year. More important he has upside and fits their offense. This is why they have blown all their top picks. They take a guard they don’t need. Raynaud as a trade asset is even more important and valuable than any pick at this point. A position of need. Only fools pass on that in 2nd rd …. You really should know who he is. You see what Edey has done. This guy is more advanced offensively. Players who started playing late in life like Edey and Reynaud. Learn fast and progress faster. Another missed opportunity ……

“Scoring and Rebounding:
He was a primary scorer and averaged a double-double with 15.5 points and 9.6 rebounds per game in his last season “

Umm…Peachtree hoops did a nice video analysis of Maxime. He has tendency to look lost on defense.
How many times have you told me no one plays D in nba. Now your a D guy. D is the easiest thing to teach and coach. Your right why would you go to Warriors for that. You just make sure you watch him develop in Sacramento.
When did I tell you that? The Warriors didn’t get into the playoffs last year based on their shooting. That is laughable if you think that. Where do you get the idea it is the easiest thing to teach.
So Warriors take another guard ….
Umm…No…The Bogut connection at work.
If it’s of any consolation, I didn’t think Joe Ingles would of made such a career in the NBA. Toohey has size, young, bit of an all rounder. Joe could stroke it, run an offence and create for others though.
Twohey is know for his love of playing defense. And, his stoke suggests their is a potential jumper in there.
Knicks pick at #51 Diawara. Is a long wing defender. Another French player. Diadet and him are suppose to be good friends. Hopefully he gave us a good scouting report.
GSW gets Toohey, who back in March was called a potential first rounder, way back at #52 and at #56 gets a rotation piece to replace GP2 in Will Richard, a guy who had a legacy game in the national championship….MDJ masterclass. Why did everyone sleep on Will Richard?
How is MDJ this good at drafting late 2nd rounders lol
The Warriors select two guys who are both 2 inches too short for their ideal position. Go figure.
The reality will be that their lack of size will force them down a slot, and they’ll be beaten time and time again by players who are quicker.
I don’t care if a guy has a sweet shooting stroke.., if he can’t stay in front of his man on defense, he won’t play.
How long before 95% of the Warriors fans on this board cry about not developing these two guys?
About the only positive thing to hold on to is this wasn’t a Bob Myers draft lol. I do have a lot of faith in MDJ so there’s a flicker of hope.
Ill give it until the end of October before the resident clown calls for their head like how they do on GP2. The other clown will downplay the importance of 2nd round picks for a championship team, opposite of what he is doing now.
A little pushback. Curry is a little shorter than the ideal. Twoohey is getting notice for the fact he loves to play defense. The coach of the guard they drafted said he just knows how to play. He has like a 6’10” wingspan. The still have 6’6″ Aussie guard who we haven’t seen. But, he has gotten rave reviews from Bogut. So, no All-Stars in the bunch. But, going forward, they’ll have a solid bench. That is what killed them in 22-23. They probably wouldn’t have traded Wiseman.
> But, going forward, they’ll have a solid bench
It’s unreaonable to expect these guys to contribute to the W’s this season. Best case is that one of them sticks with Santa Cruz and is ready after 1.5 seasons, as with Gui Santos (who was drafted).
Realistically, a team develops 1 undrafted guy into an NBA player about every 3 years. Most will be released after the Summer League. Very few undrafted players in the NBA are with the team that signed them after college.
Good comment Giants74.
> How long before 95% of the Warriors fans on this
> board cry about not developing these two guys?
I won’t. Player development plans are for first round picks. That’s where the W’s have the worst track record in the NBA over the last 10 years.
We do a decent job with our CBA team, bringing the lesser guys along. Gui Santos benefited from 1.5 seasons in Santa Cruz. Quinten Post couldn’t have played in the NBA last year without being prepared for 3 months in Santa Cruz.
With respect to our 1st round picks, the HC breaks too may of the cardinal rules of player development. Let’s start with all the minutes given to the transient bottom-tier players (like Anthony Lamb, Lindy Waters, Lester Quinones, etc, etc) prevent the consistent, predictable experience required for development. (That holds in any sport.)
Oh Aristotle…Have you seen Armstrong play? It is a bit presumptuous to say that he’ll got cut after the Summer Leagues. The Warriors have already had him on a 2-way contract. He has played in SC already. He’ll probably get another one.
There are lot of people who think highly of Toohey’s defense. I doubt he’ll get cut after the Summer Leagues. And there is some potential in his shot.
Giants74, you misrepresent me.
You made this comment about these second round picks and the undrafted player (Armstrong):
> So, no All-Stars in the bunch. But, going
> forward, they’ll have a solid bench.
I made no comment about any individual player, only that it’s highly improbable that these players collectively represent “a solid bench” for the Warriors in the next year or two.
The best indication of a rookie player’s potential is where/whether they were drafted. The Warriors are no different from any other NBA team. 2nd round picks and undrafted signees are unlikely to succeed. And, if they do ultimately succeed, it’s highly unlikely to be in the first year or with the team they originally signed with.
Toohey was a great pick.
