The Lakers have waived two-way player Trey Jemison III, the team announced in a press release (hat tip to Khobi Price of the Orange County Register).
The Lakers have completely revamped their two-way roster. They reportedly are signing Christian Koloko and Chris Manon to fill two of those spots. Jemison held the third and final slot, so the Lakers are now free to sign another player to take his place.
That may have already been determined. The Lakers reportedly agreed to a two-way deal with former Villanova forward Eric Dixon shortly after he went undrafted in June, though the signing isn’t yet official.
Jemison signed a two-year, two-way contract in January. The 25-year-old center had some productive moments in his 22 games with the Lakers, averaging 2.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.3 minutes per night while shooting 61.9% from the field. He also spent time with New Orleans during the 2024/25 season and had brief stints with Washington and Memphis in ’23/24.
Overall, Jemison has 63 games of NBA experience (14 starts), averaging 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds in 15.3 minutes per game.
It’s not very important but Jemison had the wider frame and could slug with the big boys, but he looked like he never had a clue where to be on the court. Koloko looked passive and unsure of his own size. They better hope Manon’s steals numbers translate to pro defense because they got yet another wing who can’t shoot.
Now trying to trade for KCP and the Villanova guy that used to be a Knick?
Koloko not impressive last year. Glad to see CP3 go to a better organization.
Koloko is an interesting player. An early second round pick he missed the entire 23/24 season with a blood disorder. He was good enough at Arizona to be named PAC 12 defensive player of the year played real well in yhe G league, hopefully with a bit more time he will blossom into the player he could be.
They’re desperate for size and hope Koloko can develop over the season. That’s all I’ve got on him. He looked like a deer in headlights from what I saw of him last season. Dude has no confidence and doesn’t know how to use his size. But who knows.
A better organization? You’re suggesting the Clippers, a team that never does anything, is superior to a team that rolls out the red carpet for their players. Silly comment. BING Boy has more money but the Lakers treat their players like royalty.
You mean the organization where the owner sleeps with the coach and the bro and sis air their dirty laundry in public. Yeah, I guess I mean that one.
Erik Dixon should have been drafted
