A boat trip is sparking speculation that two of the NBA’s biggest names could eventually team up with the Nuggets, according to BasketNews.
In an Instagram post on Saturday, Misko Raznatovic, the longtime agent for Nikola Jokic, shared photos of himself with LeBron James and Maverick Carter, James’ business partner, in St. Tropez. Raznatovic added the caption, “The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026! @kingjames @mavcarter.”
Speculation has been building that James could be on the move — whether it’s during the upcoming season or next summer — ever since he picked up his $52.6MM player option. That decision was accompanied by a statement from his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who said the 40-year-old star still wants to compete for championships and would be monitoring the Lakers‘ offseason moves.
The Cavaliers, Mavericks, Warriors and Knicks are among the teams that have been mentioned as future homes for James, but the Nuggets also make sense from a competitive standpoint. James is coming off a second team All-NBA season, and partnering him with Jokic could significantly bolster Denver’s title chances.
The Nuggets couldn’t afford to give James another $50MM contract with Jokic ($59MM) and Jamal Murray ($50.1MM) already on their books for 2026/27 and beyond. Aaron Gordon ($32MM) and Cameron Johnson ($23MM) will also limit the Nuggets’ financial flexibility, but James might be willing to accept a smaller salary to join a team that would give him a chance to win a fifth ring.
There seems to be a growing sense around the league that this will be James’ final season with the Lakers as the team focuses on building around Luka Doncic and prioritizes cap space for the summer of 2027. James has been an All-NBA selection in each of his seven seasons since coming to L.A. in 2019 and delivered a title in 2020.
Makes sense.
Ok, where exactly did he suggest that? Just retire already, so sick of this guy.
How the heck is it LeBron’s fault that a lonely writer in Denver chose to write about something that Nikolas agent maybe possibly said?
He didn’t “possibly” say it, it’s actually posted on Instagram. It’s linked above. What it means, if anything, is up for debate. But don’t think for a second that LeBron didn’t know this was getting posted exactly as it is. There’s no one more calculating than Bron.
LeBron is a sophisticated public figure. If didn’t want his business partner to be hanging out with Jokic’s agent then this would not have happened. Similar to the trade rumors, which were basically started by LeBron’s agent.
Ah yes. The Bronuminati is everywhere and LeBron could have easily stopped this.
Bye Felicia
Now, that’s quality “journalism”!
He’s to greedy and selfish to sign for less. I wish he’d go somewhere else today. I’ve been a laker fan since 72 but haven’t watched a basketball since he’s been in LA
Did you watch for the seven years prior when they missed the playoffs for the longest consecutive streak since you’ve been a fan in 72?
Even with that streak of no playoffs, for Brawny Sensation to match Kobe’s title percentage (5 in 20 years) he’d have to win the next two (from 4 in 22 years to 6 in 24 years). Let’s not even get into the ‘streak’ BS would need to go on – in terms of title after title after title after (yeah) – to match MJ’s percentage, luvhoops. Jesus…..and what if the team loyalty also wasn’t there for Kobe and MJ – would we be talkin even HIGHER title percentages for this two right now?? (crazy to think about)
What are you talking about? How is any of that relevant to the state of the Lakers recently?
It implies Kobe coulda sat on his behind and not played a single minute his final 5 or 6 seasons – when the Lakers weren’t a good team – and he still woulda had a more legendary/storied career than Brawny, whose case for top-5 all time probably woulda looked better if he had retired immediately following 2020 – really the only bright spot for the Lakers (if you wanna call a summer league tournament title a ‘bright spot’) of his 7+ year tenure there.
You’re the one obsessed with him. I’m simply saying delusional Lakers fans need to stop acting like he came and broke up the showtime Lakers. That franchise wasn’t trending mediocre, it was trending bad.
Whatever else you’re talking about seems kinda unhinged tbh
“Title percentage” isn’t a thing. If it was, Patrick McCaw would be the GOAT.
Sure, that may not be the best term for it. But when Brawny’s opportunities to win a title are getting to be in an almost double-digit range more than the span of your average NBA player’s career, it really needs to be taken into consideration…..kinda like…..how is a 23+ year NBA career – with a boatload of playoff games included – even POSSIBLE, considering that it never previously happened in the league’s 8-decade history.
Like I said slick a laker fan since 72 and yes a laker fan for the 12 titles before his title searching arrival to LA
Calling b.s.
I agree he’s definitely greedy but the headliner for him would be to win a championship with 3 different teams and retire as a NBA champion. Not to mention, doing it Denver of all places to close out his career.
Soap opera level insipidity: “The summer of 2025 is the perfect time to make big plans for the fall of 2026! This is like what I imagine The Kardashians being like.
If this were ever to even have a whiff of happening , a big IF…. It would happen in LA not Denver . Cmon the king is entrenched in LA and he likes to go home at night, drink his wine and be with the fam as much as possible. Lakers have the largest international fanbase and storybook franchise (just a fact). For this, he would most certainly take a pay cut to play with Luka and Joker and retire with his fifth or even stick around one more for a back to back 6th…but he ain’t goin to Denver to do it, ha! No way, It would happen in LA with Luka. And then by 3030 he’ll have a statue outside of Crypto. Ha!
Jokic ever wanting to play for the Lakers is about as likely as, I dunno, James Harden wanting to play for the Hornets. No offense to anyone, but Jokic is so anti-glitz, anti-fame, and uninterested in Hollywood or the entertainment industry that the suggestion is just silly.
So is luka, it seems
I would go see that statue in 1,005 years .
Nobody knows where LeBron will be next year. I doubt he even knows which team he will be on next year. looks like Lakers are moving away from Lebron.
Perhaps joining forces w/ valanciunis in europe.
It’d be the ultimate switcheroo, and weakening denver at backup 5 !?
Sooner the better
LaDiddy James can go where he wants but he’ll take up two roster spots and a lot of your cap space to make a winning team with.
What a dumb comment ….. won’t that come back to bite them if it goes down as tampering ??
Guess Lbj couldn’t handle being outta the news for 2 weeks –
Ship this dude out at the deadline if there’s a semi reasonable offer even if the teams holding water at the time
It’s an agent, a player, and a business partner, no team executives. I doubt there would a case for tampering since no one on the boat works for the nuggets.
Lmao….that right there what made him the goat, lols. Look at me, look at me. I’ve already decided to put Steph @ no.10 on my personal all time list. The longer this clown keeps up his circus act, he may end up outside the top 15. It would be funnier if he went to San Fran.
Would rather see Luka in Denver.
Jebron Lames for a pallet of urinal cakes.
Jokic isn’t putting up with his bulls**t and LeBron doesn’t make thatt team any better than they already are.
He would actually make them worse defensively.
He’s been useless in LA for 8 years.
