Anthony Davis will be out for at least the next week with his left calf strain, the Mavericks announced (via Twitter).
The tweet stated that the team’s recent re-evaluation of the injury showed good progress, but that he will be evaluated again in 7-10 days with further updates to come.
“He wants to play. He’s doing everything to get back,” head coach Jason Kidd said, as relayed by Mike Curtis of the Dallas Morning News (via Twitter). “For AD, I’m not trying to speak for him but he wants to be out there to help us. but this gives him 7-10 days to get better & hopefully in 7-10 days he’s back on the floor.”
Davis has played five games for the Mavs this season, during which time Dallas went 2-3. He is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
He has missed the last eight games after leaving the team’s win against the Pacers after six minutes of play. The Mavs currently hold the fifth-worst record in the league at 3-10.
Rigged trade to help the Lakers.
Officials are reviewing footage to determine how Davis got that baby cow onto the court resulting in it’s injury.
Praying it’s nothing serious calf strains have obviously always been an issue but after the last 4 major Achilles tears having calf strains as precursors it’s even scarier
AD thru most of his career. Has complained about playing center. Considers himself a 4 a PF. That was a big issue as a Laker. When the NBA was going more small ball. Now he has a chance to play the 4 only in Dallas. And he still doesn’t get in best shape to do it. He owes the Mavs fan base. His commitment to getting in best shape possible. And justify his trade for Luka. Let’s go AD ……..
He’ll justify it when he’s traded. He needs to play to build up his trade value.
I like to see a davis for morant swap
