Raptors point guard Immanuel Quickley will miss his team’s NBA Cup quarterfinal game against the Knicks on Tuesday due to an illness, Steve Popper of Newsday tweets.
It’s a big blow to Toronto’s chances of advancing. The Raptors are already without RJ Barrett, who is sidelined by a right knee sprain. The good news is that reserve point guard Jamal Shead, who was listed as questionable with a right quad contusion, will play tonight.
Quickley has started all 25 games for Toronto, averaging 16.5 points, 6.2 assists, 4.2 assists and 1.2 assists in 32.2 minutes per game. Shead figures to receive the bulk of his minutes with Ja’Kobe Walter also seeing plenty of action.

Question to all Knicks fans. Do you still like the OG trade? RJ and IQ was a lot to give up. OG also always injured and I’d give him up more than Bridges in Giannis deal. Don’t break up the Nova Knicks.

RJ Barrett is not a good defender and his style of play does not typically lead to a lot of winning. It was a good trade as OG is the kind of player a team needs to get to the next level. He does everything on the court. I like Quickley, but he’s been inconsistent and injured the last couple of seasons. Also, the Knicks would’ve had to have paid both and they are making a ton of money. Also, although OG has had injury issues in his career, he played 74 games last season so he is not always injured. Talk about injured, take a look at how many games RJ Barrett has missed the last few seasons. It was a very good trade for the Knicks.
It’s a good trade for Knicks. We couldn’t sign Quickley. He was do an extension. Imo he is overpaid at 30 mill a year. RJ and IQ combined make way more than OG. Knicks are getter off. Forget Giannis it’s a pipe dream ……
Bucks need young talent and picks. Only way Knicks get in on a Giannis trade. Is by moving OG and Towns to other teams for assets. Then we can talk a Giannis trade. It would have to be a 4 way trade.
Does anything matter in the East? Top 4-5 teams are all West. West Conference Semi are going to be more exciting than a 4-0 sweep in the Finals.
