3:45 pm: Curry will be active today, tweets Nick Friedell of The Athletic.
3:21 pm: Fifth-year forward Jonathan Kuminga underwent an MRI on Friday which revealed he has a bone bruise in his left knee, the Warriors announced in a press release (Twitter link). Kuminga hyperextended his left knee in the second quarter of Thursday’s loss at Dallas and did not return.
Kuminga has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at Minnesota. The team will monitor his progress and will determine a reevaluation date “in the coming days,” per the release.
The seventh overall pick of the 2021 draft, Kuminga demanded a trade out of Golden State on Jan. 15. The 23-year-old had been out of the rotation for over a month, but was recently reinserted into the lineup in the wake of Jimmy Butler‘s season-ending torn right ACL.
Kuminga played very well in his two appearances last week prior to the injury, recording 30 points (on 10-of-13 shooting), six rebounds, four assists and three steals in 30 total minutes. Overall, he’s averaging 12.1 PPG, 5.9 RPG and 2.5 APG on .454/.321/.742 shooting in 20 games (23.8 MPG).
In other Warriors injury news, Stephen Curry experienced right knee soreness on Saturday and is questionable for Sunday’s game, head coach Steve Kerr told reporters, including Anthony Slater of ESPN (Twitter video link). The star guard will warm up before determining whether he can play tonight.
De’Anthony Melton and Al Horford will suit up on Sunday, but neither will play in Monday’s rematch with the Wolves, Kerr added.

Kuminga ain’t going anywhere this year …..
live with it. Gotta root for him to grow up and show out. Next year you move him. Unfortunately it’s another lost year for the Old Warriors.
I hope you are wrong. They can’t run it back without Jimmy Butler for the first half of next season. That ain’t gonna work. Either start the rebuild now or get the roster assembled for a final push next season.
Do you really have a choice. The draft and FA coming. Kuminga balls out you can get value for him. Don’t see other options. You won’t get much for a hurt JK. Unless you give up two picks for MPJ.
Kuminga and Kerr don’t seem capable of coexisting. But if the Warriors were to change their philosophy and just showcase JK maybe they move him for something better in the summer.
In other words, they should tank. We have seen this movie before.
Even picks 14-18 are solid picks. What do you expect without Jimmy. Better to regroup for next yr. Tanking would be top 10 pick. Great pick this year.
They just haven’t been great at drafting really for a while.
Well this is a deep lottery in 2026. Even top 20 is a future rotation/starter.

With Kuminga banged up. I doubt you get good offers. So what’s best for team. Imo you play him when healthy. Live with the results. And help him to get better. Help his value for a trade next yr. What else is there…..
JK has to get healthy first. Kerr has to suck it up lol. Do what’s best for team. You never know JK could ball out. Think positive
Closer to the deadline a young team that is out of teh playoffs should trade for Kuminga. Trade away their vets for Kuminga. I got to think teh Kings will trade some of their vets for Kuminga. Bucks are a team to watch since they lost Giannis for some time they might trade off their vets.
This is what happens when you get a sudden uptick in minutes after months of not playing
Confusions are bruises. He could have gotten it playing all season long.
Honestly warriors just need to blow it up
I’d trade Green and Horford to the Thunder for
C Jaylin Williams
C/PF Kenrich Williams
C Ousmane Dieng
Pg/Sg/ Sf Nikola Topic
Thunder get some better depth down low
Warriors get some youngish pieces that haven’t found their way into the thunders rotation consistently even though they were high draft picks at one point thing ousmane was 11 overall topic was like 12 overall Jaylin was a high 2nd rounder
That trade does not work on any level. They cannot “blow it up” they are too young to begin with. Look at who just won today btw. The Warriors are too good to blow it up. You are talking about blowing up a 26-21 team. That is lunacy. Just let it go, you arent getting your way – Curry is a Dub 4 life.
By blow it up I don’t mean trade curry
But 26-21 without jimmy butler isn’t getting the warriors anywhere long term and certainly isn’t winning them a championship
The trade works. You’re trading 35 year old green and 39 almost 40 year old horford for
Former 11th overall pick Dieng who’s 22
Former 12th overall pick Topic who’s 20
Former 34th overall pick Williams who’s 23
Kenrich who’s 31 but needed to salary filler
Youre getting significantly younger pieces and more depth trading away 2 aging guys who probably aren’t around in 2 years or even after this year. Yeah the trade works.
They also just need to end things with Kuminga and take what you can get at this point. They need to rebuild the roster around Curry. Pod Moody and Post is about the only pieces I’d consider keeping
No way in hell the Thunder make that deal though. Apologies, it does work on salary. You are right it has players GSW need, but its very Warriors-friendly.
GSW doesn’t need to end it with Kuminga, they need to end it with Kerr. Small ball is all he knows.
Just for the sake of argument
Dieng is playing 14 mins a game with Hartenstein and Williams out
Jaylin Williams is playing 18.1 for the same reason
Topic hasn’t seen time
And Kenrich Williams is playing 15.3 a game
You’re essentially replacing Jaylin Williams and Ousmane Dieng with more veteran pieces in Horford and Green
The Thunder are also gonna face a roster crunch at some point
They’re looking at potentially 3 1sts next draft with Utahs being 1-8 protected
LACs pick swap, SAS lottery protected, and Denver top 3 protected in 2027
That’s 6 1sts potentially they’re gonna have to work around. They could trade them away for future picks but I think they should trade up and grab some elite pieces the next two drafts who they have cheap control over. Which means guys like Jaylin Williams Ousmane Dieng and Nikolai Topic are probably not in their long term plans
You aren’t wrong, OKC has to make trades…but I just don’t see them going after Draymond. 26-21 GSW needs Horford to compete, too.
Of the players you mentioned, only Dieng actually plays center. He could obviously help GSW, but I don’t think OKC is looking for declining Dray and no B2B Horford.
Dieng is not a C at all. PF/SF
Williams is not a C either. SF/PF
Bro
This is a nice clean way to fulfill what some have said all week.
He’s never playing another game for the Golden State Warriors. Never, done, finished.
Or they can’t find an offer they like, and keep him the reast of the season.
Stay tuned…
You don’t seem to understand what I’ve written. I’ll say it again.
Jonathan Kuminga has played his last game for the Golden State Warriors.
There is no, “keep him the reast of the season.”
Take a screenshot or copy and paste.., whatever you need to do to understand this fact.
Weird.
Your comment is easy to understand.
But FYI, “future facts” don’t exist in REALITY.
If GSW can’t get a trade offer they think makes them better by the deadline, they will keep him. And they won’t sit him for the remaining 29 games, because that would be stupid considering they want to trade him as much as he wants to be traded.
The Kings are being rumored to have made Sabonis available, so maybe MDJ can get a JK trade that includes him, despite the apron restrictions.
My goodness it looks like you’re having a tough time here.
They will not “keep him.”
Simply.., You really don’t know what you’re talking about, and I know exactly what I’m talking about.
Without going too deep as far as track record, aren’t you the Mac McClung guy? I rest my case.
Warriors and their stubbornness are the cause. Should have traded him.
Nice win by Warriors — 40-95 FG to Minny 30-79 .
That’s a big difference in shots …. Minny with no bench scoring. Tell me Coby isn’t the guy for this team. Guaranteed 20 a game. Another ball handler.
Warriors by 26 ouuch … spanked.
Minnesota has needed a pg all season. They seem to be in denial. I didn’t watch them get killed by Warriors, but it comes as no surprise.
A player like Coby even Schroder, Westbrook makes them better deeper. Coby is best cause it’s for next 5yrs plus. Minny is blowing their window.
Wolves were understandably distracted/unmotivated due to the trump storm troops’ murders in Minneapolis.
I wouldn’t be surprised if tonight is more of the same.
They owe them. TWolves should show up. They gave a bad habit of bad losses at times. They really need another ball handler.
Even with all their issues, most self-inflicted or kerr-inflicted, the Warriors are still a title contender, btw. If this team can either unleash Kuminga or get a regular rotation piece for him, they are easily going to the WCF. I think they should trade Jimmy for a healthy player making $50M too. Any of those moves improve them even more.
It’s so weird how badly many want them to blow it up, like…they are winning games…but they should blow it up…probably going to be like 35-25 in a few weeks, but its all over…hmm…this is wishcasting, folks…
It’s interesting that now that JK is back on the shelf, the Warriors are back to their winning ways…
Ha ha – 1 game over a team whose city is under siege doesn’t mean anything.
I think the wolves were playing with a full roster? Did anyone sit out because of something personal happening with their home or family?
By the way, the entire state and you could say the entire country is under siege right now. There’s currently protests going in many large cities.
I think you’re disagreeing because you don’t ever like to agree or yield to someone with a different opinion than you.
That’s fine.., you do you. No harm no foul on my end at all. In fact I appreciate the discussion.
“you could say the entire country is under siege right now”
You could say it, but it wouldn’t be true. trump is targeting Minneapolis due to being controlled by Democrats. There are more illegals in Texas and Florida, but there are no ICE storm troopers murdering people in those states.
Your lack of empathy for the players struggling with what’s going on there is on you, but a team that averages 13.4 TO/gm before last night’s 26 and shooting over 10% below their season avg shows they were distracted.
I’m leaving this alone. Thank you for your understanding.
If the Warriors make no moves prior to the deadline, do you think they are a contender? I don’t. They would be lucky to get a play-in spot. Or maybe unlucky, because then they wouldn’t be in the lottery pool. They need to pick a direction and make moves accordingly. Compete, or rebuild. Minor tweaks, not so much.
The Warriors think the can contend out of the play-in spot, so that’s what they’re focused on doing wrt trades before the deadline.
IMO, if they don’t do anything, it’s highly unlikely they get out of the 1st rd.
JBS I agree 100%. If they’re at .500 or better, they will make moves to improve the roster and go for it.
If the Warriors are 10 games below .500 they’ll tear it apart.
What they won’t do is stand Pat with the same roster they have today.
PS… I am repeating what I mentioned a month or so ago and it sure looks like they won’t be 10 games under .500. There’s just a week left before the deadline.
So It’s obvious to me the Warriors are going to go for it. That means including two or three first round picks in exchange for one or two impact players.
I hope they don’t trade their 1st round picks. The post-Steph picks are valuable.
Yep, that’s the decision.
Do they go for it, Stand Pat, or start trading away the vets?
I doubt the Warriors do anything major without Jimmy. JK only brings back good value if he plays. Which means he won’t be traded till end of year.
Only if Nets drop their demand to one pick for MPJ. I don’t see any trade now.
Just draft PG who can shoot Ryan Curry out of the Army
GSW are 13-5 in their last 18. “Back to their winning ways” they never left.
