In a radio appearance on 95.7 FM’s Willard and Dibs show on Wednesday, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr provided an injury update on Stephen Curry, who will miss at least five more games due to his ongoing right knee issue.
Kerr said Curry is “frustrated” and “dying to be out there,” but has not yet practiced, as Nick Avila of NBC Sports Bay Area relays.
“He’s getting shots up, but he’s not in a place yet where we’re saying he’s going to be practicing anytime in the next few days,” Kerr said. “It’s pretty methodical. As you guys know, Rick (Celebrini) is as good as they come and he’s going to be very cautious and make sure Steph gets the right build up and we go from there.”
Here’s more on the Warriors:
- Kerr is optimistic Moses Moody will return from his right wrist sprain at some point during Golden State’s upcoming road trip, tweets Nick Friedell of The Athletic. The Warriors play six road games from March 15-23, including a couple of back-to-backs. Moody, a fifth-year wing who is averaging a career-high 11.9 points while shooting a career-best 40.2% from long distance, will miss his fifth straight game Friday due to the injury.
- Although the Warriors have been in a rut of late without Curry and Jimmy Butler, dropping three straight games, two-way player LJ Cryer has been a bright spot over the past four contests, averaging 11.8 points while shooting 48.0% from three-point range in 18.8 minutes per game. Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area profiles the former Baylor and Houston guard, whose family is full of athletes. “Went from being one of the last guys on the bench coming into college to being the star,” Cryer said. “Sometimes you just got to wait your time and put in work behind the scenes. It’s kind of what’s happening now.”
- On his podcast, Draymond Green expressed regret for his actions in Tuesday’s loss to Chicago, per Florito Maniego of NBC Sports Bay Area. The veteran forward/center fouled Jalen Smith with one second left in regulation and the Warriors up two points. Smith converted both free throws to send the game to overtime. “Unfortunately, I feel like against the Bulls, I let my team down,” Green said. “Something that was completely in my control or our control, but s–t happens, and we got to move on. And we got the Timberwolves coming in (Friday), and you just got to figure it out.”

Alright… Here come the lazy, boring takes filled with Draymond haters and the Warrior bandwagon “fans” clamoring for Kerr to get fired
It’s actually really difficult keeping track of all the different ways Draymond discourages normal, average functioning members of society from admitting they are NBA fans. It’s hardly lazy.
It is quite refreshing to read a criticism of Draymond in which the nauseating excuse of his exceptional basketball IQ can’t be applied by all his fanboys.
He blew the game they had no business losing. There’s a reason he can’t win without actual productive players surrounding him. He’s not that good.
He’s a grunt who does the dirty work and loves his job.
He’s about as effective as Dennis Rodman would be on a crappy team. Not gonna work.
They’re both perfect for a skill team that needs a banger, defender, dirty work guy.
Warriors suck right now so Green has to actually take some shots and he looks horrible doing so. Especially at age 36.
I’m either hoping that curry comes back to play with Porziņģis and they make a little noise…, or if not, next year They’ll be able to put something together.
It’s been nice to see Cryer play. He looked good in summer league and preseason and can really shoot. Hopefully he gets more run in the upcoming games, this team could really use his shooting!
Cryer is being extremely efficient right now. The thing is that He’s very small, he’s not very good at getting to the hole and when he does, his size prevents him from being effective in any way.
He’s strong but at his size he’s not fast enough to make up for that.
He’s shooting well because they’re leaving him open right now because he’s a G league scrub.
At 5-11 and shooting from his chin that will not be something he’ll be able to pull off against regular NBA defenders in the fourth quarter of a playoff game.
Nice little player and I’m glad he’s helping out right now but I don’t think he has an NBA role on a squad with championship aspirations.
Cryer is more of a pelicans Hornets Warriors kind of guy right now.
Curry gone cum back 1 day after the season end
“Cum back?”
Ok bro.., sis.., sus?
I think the consensus is that he wants to come back and so he’ll make it happen so he can play with Kristaps Porziņģis and see what happens in the play-in game.
Hopefully, they can make some noise, but the chances are slim with no prep time to build familiarity.
Without Moody the defense has been terrible. Shows how good of a defender Moody is.
I have been saying this for years in here lol Moody is a baller. He isnt thick enough to be a PF like idiot Kerr plays him, but his 7’1″ wingspan plays up at both SG/SF. I see a lot of Kawhi in Moody’s game.
Arc I expect more from you. You sound like David Junior.
Moses Moody sucks and he is not a good defender.
You have to see this when you watch Arc. He constantly gets beat off the dribble and his teammates Need to help him. It’s the most frustrating thing ever to watch.
The only thing Moses Moody has to his advantage defensively is his long arms which can disrupt passing lanes.
Essentially that’s it.
I disagree. Moody is a good defender his problem is being inconsistent on offense. moody is also over compensating for the other bad defenders on the floor. Podz has not looked very good. Spencer is the one getting beat off the dribble. Every team they face he gets switched by the teams offense to expose his poor defense. Kerr tries to hide him defending the corners but still get put on a double switch and lose his man.
Draymond is so close to getting it (he is washed up and cant get it done anymore).
LJ Cryer is who Kerr wishes Pat Spencer would be. Spencer (and Podz) go missing for way too long offensively, and their defense is not good enough to warrant their playing time, another critical Kerr error. Cryer on the other hand, has pretty much only gotten buckets every time he goes out there. Wish Podz+Pat would be the same. Hope Kerr plays Cryer more.
Moody being back also changes the dynamic of this team. Mark my words, if GSW get everyone back with like 5-10 games left in the season, that may be all they need to gel and start cooking again.
Losing to the Bulls and Jazz in the same week equals a championship contender.
No, not really.
Our first clue was when they lost to their peers back to back Lakers and Clippers. Dubs Can’t beat them then it’s really over. That was just two weeks ago.
When you lose your 2 best players and another starter you will not win very many games. You can’t name any team out there that would survive that much injuries. look how when Leonard went down Clippers were terrible. Bucks with Giannis. So the bigger questuion is why does it bother you so much being that you hate the warriors?
