The Grizzlies are working out Vanderbilt’s Tyler Tanner on Wednesday, along with Chase Ross (Marquette), Sam Alexis (Indiana), and J’Vonne Hadley (Louisville), reports Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal (Twitter link).
Tanner, a potential first-round pick, is the most highly regarded prospect of that group and will face a decision in a matter of hours on whether or not to keep his name in the draft. The deadline for early entrants to withdraw and retain their NCAA eligibility is 11:59 pm Eastern on Wednesday.
Tanner is one of the more notable prospects who has yet to finalize his decision — it’s possible the feedback he gets on Wednesday from the Grizzlies, who hold this year’s third, 16th, and 32nd overall picks, will help sway him in one direction or the other.
We have a few more draft-related updates:
- Flory Bidunga, who is transferring from Kansas to Louisville, has withdrawn from the draft, per Joe Tipton of On3 (Twitter link). So has Shane Blakeney, who is transferring from Drexel to South Carolina, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports (Twitter link), as well as Anton Bonke, who is transferring from Charlotte to Michigan State, agent Scott Nichols tells Jon Chepkevich of DraftExpress (Twitter link). Bidunga is entering his junior season in 2026/27, while Blakeney and Bonke will be seniors and will be automatically draft-eligible next year.
- In addition to Dillon Mitchell, Tre Donaldson, and Tyler Nickel, whose participation was previously reported, the Warriors are bringing in Nevada guard Corey Camper, South Carolina guard Kobe Knox, and San Diego State guard Reese Dixon-Waters for Wednesday’s group workout, according to the team (Twitter link).
- Nick Boyd (Wisconsin), Wyatt Fricks (Marshall), Nate Johnson (Kansas State), and Tre White (Kansas) are among the prospects visiting the Hornets for a pre-draft workout on Wednesday, league sources tell Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer (Twitter link). Charlotte currently only holds the 14th and 18th overall picks, while Boyd and White rank 76th and 93rd, respectively, on ESPN’s top-100 list, so the team could be eyeing potential undrafted targets for two-way offers.
- Cincinnati forward Baba Miller had been scheduled to take part in a group workout with the Kings on Wednesday, but he was unable to participate due to an illness, tweets Sean Cunningham of KCRA News.

I hope GSW does not draft Tre Donaldson, but the other guys are ok by me, although I hope they draft 2 big 7 footers or Yaxel and a big body, ready-now 7 footer who at least knows how to fill the lane vs Joker/Wemby. The roster was too small-heavy last season, GSW needs to flip those positional spots around. Having 10 undersized SGs on the roster was idiotic work. There was no reason to get Seth Curry.
davey…..you dont consider Q.Post a nice piece? not a star, granted…..but he can shoot and improved over time
He needs better coaching than GSW have given him, being the coach is obsessed with playing 4 undersized players at the same time, and he is a 7 footer. He took steps backwards last year, likely due to sporadic playing time.
I think GSW should have 4-5 7-footers on the roster, and he can be one of them. I have nothing against him aside from how much money he might want. But as the back end of that group of bigs, QP is fine. I like him as a guy who is improving. He’s kind of a lottery ticket player, as of right now, he isn’t a guy who should be starting or #1 backup, but as the back end of a larger group of 7 footers this upcoming season, Post is fine. If he improves next year, it will mean GSW have more depth and will win more games.
Bottom line the “Joker switches off Horford to dunk on one of the 4 6’2″ guys out there” crap cannot stand anymore. If he switches off one big man, there has to be more of them out there to avoid the way he runs over every team in 4Q.
He won’t find a better coach.
Future Hall of Fame coach Steve Kerr isn’t good enough?
Where do you think any team can find 5 7 footers that are worthy of an NBA contract? That is weird.
they are not drafting Donaldson because he is the same as Cryer their 2 way player. Same size about the same stats. Only a couple of them had impressive stats. A few clunkers in those names that i doubt they will even consider.
Why even invite him, then? I fear GSW is still stuck in their small ball ways. It’s never going to work as long as Wemby and Joker exist.
It is called “due diligence”. Every team does it. You look at as many players as possible. You never know what you will find.
This draft is extremely weak at C. Has everything else. Alot of C’s have returned to college. Maybe 10 C’s available. I do see a couple 7 footers that will most likely go undrafted.
Donaldson looks like the best player in that group. Most likely undrafted two way guy
GS does need a heir apperant at PG. One year with a younger PG would be great development.
A four year or so blck guy 6’11 or taller is what they should be looking at. Age 23 or older is the age they should be looking at. Shot blockers
I agree they should have three or four C’s
Or draft a really young player and start a new timeline
Glad that Tanner withdrew. He’s a good player but will benefit from another year in college especially being undersized.
