Suns Sign Leandro Barbosa
JULY 19, 2:01pm: The Suns have officially signed Barbosa, the team announced today (via Twitter).
JULY 6, 11:00pm: The deal includes a team option on the second year, Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.com tweets.
10:54pm: The Suns have agreed to a deal with unrestricted free agent Leandro Barbosa, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports (via Twitter). The pact is worth $8MM over two-years, Wojnarowski adds. It’s unknown if the deal includes any options, be it player or team.
The 33-year-old makes his return to Phoenix, where he spent the first seven years of his career after being selected No. 28 overall in the 2003 NBA Draft. The veteran also made a brief 20-game pit stop with the franchise during the 2013/14 campaign.
Barbosa was a member of the Western Conference champion Warriors this past season, appearing in 68 games and averaging 6.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 15.9 minutes per contest. He shot .462/.355/.839 from the field on the year.
Raptors Sign Fred VanVleet
JULY 18: The Raptors have officially signed VanVleet to a multiyear contract, the team announced today (via Twitter).
JULY 12: The Raptors have reached a contract agreement with free agent Fred VanVleet, Blake Murphy of Raptors Republic reports. The pact will be a multiyear arrangement, according to Murphy, and barring a last minute alteration, will include a partial guarantee.
VanVleet went undrafted out of Wichita State this year and he has been playing on Toronto’s squad at the Las Vegas Summer League, Murphy notes. The scribe notes that the guard has impressed the franchise with his composure running the offense and an improved 3-point stroke. Through three summer league contests, VanVleet has scored 19 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and added five assists.
The 22-year-old made 31 appearances for the Shockers this past season and averaged 12.2 points, 3.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists in 29.0 minutes per outing. His slash line on the year was .390/.381/.817. He’s a longshot to make the regular season roster, but would be a wise addition to the Raptors’ D-League affiliate where he can be developed as a player during the 2016/17 campaign.
Heat Sign Okaro White
JULY 15, 5:01pm: The Heat have made their deal with White official.
JULY 14, 6:30pm: The Heat have agreed to a deal with unrestricted free agent forward Okaro White, Greek basketball journalist George Zakkas tweets and international journalist David Pick confirms (via Twitter). The length and terms of the agreement are unknown, but it does include a partial guarantee, Pick notes.
The 23-year-old went undrafted out of Florida State in 2014 and then headed overseas, spending the 2014/15 campaign with the Italian club Granarolo Bologna, where he averaged 12.2 points and 6.9 rebounds on the season. White then headed to Greece, spending this past season with Aris BC, notching averages of 13.9 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 26.8 minutes per outing. He shot .465/.337/.791 from the field on the year.
White attended a free agent mini-camp that Miami held in June, but didn’t come away with a contract offer. He appeared in the Orlando Summer League for the Magic’s squad and has been suiting up for the Heat’s squad in Las Vegas, chipping in 10.0 PPG and 6.3 RPG over four contests.
Mavericks Sign Jonathan Gibson

JULY 13, 10:39pm: The Mavericks have agreed to a deal with unrestricted free agent point guard Jonathan Gibson, Shams Charania of The Vertical reports (via Twitter). It will be a three-year pact that includes guarantees, Charania adds. The scribe’s report doesn’t specify the type or amount of the guarantees, nor which years of the arrangement they cover.
Gibson, 28, has been playing for Dallas’ summer league squad, making three appearances and averaging 22.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 29.5 minutes of action. He’s shooting .511/.440/1.000 from the field in Las Vegas this summer.
The guard went undrafted out of New Mexico State in 2010 after completing his senior campaign. He has primarily played overseas since then, spending the 2015/16 season in China with Qingdao. Gibson appeared in 36 games for the Double Star Eagles this past season, averaging 42.0 points, 6.8 rebounds and 5.1 assists on 46.7% shooting overall.
Mavs Sign Nicolas Brussino

JULY 7, 4:33pm: The Mavericks have reached a contract agreement with Argentinian swingman Nicolás Brussino, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports (ESPN Now link). Hat tip to Orazio Cauchi of Sportando, who also relayed the news.
It will be a three-year, minimum salary deal that includes a partial guarantee, Cauchi notes. The exact amount of that partial guarantee is unknown, but it is likely a minimal sum, though that is merely my speculation.
Brussino, 23, spent last season with Penarol in Argentina, making 59 appearances and averaging 14.6 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists in 28.1 minutes per night. His shooting line was .474/.394/.721.
Magic, Clippers Swap Marble, Wilcox
JULY 15th, 11:14pm: The trade is official, the Magic announced.
JULY 14th, 7:44pm: The Magic and the Clippers are finalizing a trade that would send Devyn Marble and a 2020 second round pick to the Clippers for C.J. Wilcox and cash considerations, Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel reports (via Twitter). It’s unclear if any protections will be attached to the second-rounder.
Orlando was reportedly set to waive Marble today, but the opportunity to work out a swap with Los Angeles popped up, and the Magic will be able to extract some value for the player. Marble appeared in 28 games for the Magic this past season and averaged 2.1 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 8.9 minutes per outing. His shooting line was .296/.250/.417. He will earn $980,431 if he remains on the Clippers roster past Friday.
Wilcox, 25, recently underwent surgery to repair a broken right hand and he is expected to be out of action for four-to-six weeks. He is set to earn $1,209,600 next season and has a team option worth $2,183,328 for 2017/18. The guard appeared in 23 games for the Clippers this past season, averaging 3.0 points in 7.3 minutes of action per outing, while shooting .394/.391/.750 from the field.

International Notes: Raduljica, Goudelock, Randolph
Serbian big man Miroslav Raduljica has officially inked a two-year deal with the Italian Club Olimpia Milano, Novosti.rs relays (Translation via Emiliano Carchia of Sportando), confirming an earlier report from international journalist David Pick. Raduljica last appeared in the NBA during the 2014/15 campaign, playing in five games for the Timberwolves and averaging 1.6 points and 1.0 rebound in 4.6 minutes per game. His shooting line was .375/.000/1.000. The big man reportedly turned down a minimum salary offer from the Wizards prior to heading overseas, according to Pick.

- Point guard Andrew Goudelock has a contract offer on the table from the Turkish club Galatasaray, Pick reports (via Twitter). The Rockets had cut ties with Goudelock earlier this month, a move made in advance of August 1st, when his salary of $1,015,696 for 2016/17 would have become fully guaranteed. Goudelock appeared in just eight games after signing with the Rockets in March when he completed his season in China. He averaged 2.8 points and 0.5 assists in 6.3 minutes per outing, shooting .450/.111/.750 from the field.
- Former NBA player Anthony Randolph has signed with Spanish power Real Madrid, Pick reports (Twitter link). The 26-year-old last appeared in the NBA during the 2013/14 campaign when he played in 43 games for the Nuggets and averaged 4.8 points and 2.8 rebounds in 12.3 minutes.
- Former Hawks big man Gustavo Ayon has agreed to a three-year contract extension with Real Madrid, Euroleague.net reports. Ayon last appeared in the NBA during the 2012/13 season.
And-Ones: Ginobili, Beaubois, Arcidiacono
The Spurs‘ initial offer to unrestricted free agent Manu Ginobili was in the range of one-year, $3MM, but the team was forced to significantly increase its offer because of the Sixers, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports (video link). Philadelphia offered Ginobili a two-year, fully guaranteed deal worth $16-$17MM in the first season, Wojnarowski notes. Sixers coach Brett Brown has an excellent relationship with the shooting guard dating back to his days as a Spurs assistant, the scribe adds.

- The Mavericks and unrestricted free agent point guard Rodrigue Beaubois continue to discuss a potential deal that would bring the former No. 25 overall pick back to Dallas, Marc Stein of ESPN.com relays (on Twitter). The 28-year-old last appeared in the NBA during the 2012/13 season when he played in 45 games for Dallas and averaged 4.0 points and 1.9 assists.
- Ryan Arcidiacono‘s multiyear deal with the Spurs includes a partial guarantee for $75K this season, plus includes a number of trigger dates for further guarantees, Michael Scotto of Sheridan Hoops relays (Twitter link).
- The Bulls and Mavericks have expressed interest in unrestricted free agent Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders relays (on Twitter). The forward appeared in two games for the Knicks this past season.
Warriors, Anderson Varejao Nearing Agreement
The Warriors and unrestricted free agent Anderson Varejao are closing in an agreement that will keep the big man in Golden State, Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports (via Twitter). It will be a one-year deal for Varejao, Stein adds, though no mention was made regarding the amount of the proposed contract.
Varejao was signed by the Warriors last season after Portland waived him, which was shortly after Cleveland, trying to lower its luxury tax hit, dealt him to the Blazers. He didn’t see much action for Golden State after the trade, appearing in 22 games and averaging 2.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 8.5 minutes per outing.
The 33-year-old has struggled with injuries the past few seasons, but does provide the team with a veteran presence off the bench. Coach Steve Kerr told reporters after Varejao was first acquired, “He’s a great insurance policy for us. It’s been good to get him minutes and get him some rhythm. He’s exactly who we were hoping for — a big who is smart, knows how to play and can fill in if we need him. We’ll see what happens in the playoffs with the rotation. But he’s got a lot of experience; we know he can play.”
