RJ Luis Signs Two-Way Contract With Jazz

July 7: Luis’ two-way deal with Utah is now official, according to NBA.com’s transaction log.

June 26: Free agent wing RJ Luis has agreed to a two-way contract with the Jazz, reports Shams Charania of ESPN (via Twitter).

Luis, who reportedly turned down lucrative NIL offers to return to college, didn’t hear his name called tonight in the second round, making him an unrestricted free agent. He was ranked No. 56 on ESPN’s big board prior to the draft and was No. 58 on Sam Vecenie of The Athletic‘s board.

The St. John’s standout was named Big East Player of the Year and was a second-team All-American in 2025 following a breakout junior season in which he averaged 18.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 35 games for the Red Storm (31.8 minutes per contest).

At 6’6″ with a 6’10.5″ wingspan, Luis has good size for a wing and is viewed as a strong defender. However, he didn’t score the ball efficiently — his shooting slash line was .439/.336/.747 (.525 TS) — and there are question marks about how his offensive game will translate to the NBA.

Luis, 22, will fill one of Utah’s three two-way spots. Assuming it goes through as planned, the signing will be finalized in July.

Ryan Nembhard Signs Two-Way Contract With Mavs

July 3: Nembhard’s two-way deal with the Mavericks is now official, the team announced in a press release.

June 26: Ryan Nembhard, who led all Division I players in assists last season, has agreed to a two-way contract with the Mavericks, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype tweets.

Nembhard, the younger brother of the Pacers’ Andrew Nembhard, logged 134 starts in college. He played two seasons with Creighton before transferring to Gonzaga, where he played two more years.

Nembhard averaged 10.5 points on 44.6 shooting, including 40.4 percent from long range, as a senior but he mainly concentrated on being a distributor. He averaged 9.8 assists and was also a factor on the defensive end with 1.7 steals. The 6-foot Nembhard reached double digits in assists 19 times last season, including 11 in his final college game — a loss to Houston in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Nembhard is one of two undrafted rookies to reach an agreement on a two-way deal in the immediate wake of the draft, joining Auburn’s Miles Kelly.

Mavericks Sign Miles Kelly To Two-Way Contract

July 3: The Mavericks have officially signed Kelly to a two-way contract, the club confirmed in a press release.

June 26: Free agent guard Miles Kelly has agreed to a two-way contract with the Mavericks, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link).

Kelly, who spent his first three college seasons at Georgia Tech prior to transferring to Auburn in 2024/25, went undrafted tonight, making him an unrestricted free agent. He was ranked No. 80 on ESPN’s big board entering the draft and is considered the outlet’s 24th-best prospect among players who weren’t selected.

The 22-year-old shooting guard averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steal in 38 appearances for a Tigers team that advanced to the Final Four this past season (28.6 minutes per contest). He also converted 37.8% of his three-point looks on high volume (6.1 attempts).

A two-way deal will allow Kelly to play in up to 50 NBA regular season games and will pay him $636,435 if he remains under contract through the league-wide salary guarantee deadline in January.

Vlad Goldin Signs Two-Way Contract With Heat

July 2: Goldin has officially signed his two-way contract, tweets Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

June 26: Former Michigan center Vladislav Goldin is signing a two-way deal with the Heat, sources tell Shams Charania of ESPN (via Twitter). Goldin had been an unrestricted free agent after going unselected in this year’s draft.

The 7’1″ big man bounced around in the NCAA, kicking off his career at Texas Tech in 2020/21, then transferring to Florida Atlantic for the subsequent three seasons. During his fifth collegiate season, 2024/25, the Russian-born center notched averages of 16.6 PPG, 7.0 RPG, 1.4 BPG, 1.1 APG, and 0.5 SPG.

The 24-year-old earned a host of honors during his various college stints, including an All-Big Ten First Team accolade and Big Ten Tournament MVP honors with the Wolverines this past season.

Sam Vecenie of The Athletic had ranked Goldin as the year’s No. 51 prospect in his final big board.

Miami selected former Illinois guard Kasparas Jakucionis with the No. 20 pick in the draft. The Heat did not have their own second-rounder this week.

Sixers To Add Hunter Sallis To Two-Way Contract

The Sixers are signing former Wake Forest guard/forward Hunter Sallis to a two-way contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania (Twitter link).

Sallis played his first two collegiate seasons with Gonzaga before transferring to Wake Forest. While he played well in limited minutes at Gonzaga, he really blossomed with the Demon Deacons, averaging 18.1 points while shooting 47.2% from the field and 34.7% from three in two seasons there.

Sallis ranked as ESPN’s fifth-best available undrafted player. At 6’5″, he’ll slide into the Sixers’ wing depth chart. The 76ers have Alex Reese currently signed to a two-way deal, so they will have one more two-way slot available after completing the Sallis signing.

Alongside Reese, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Jeff Dowtin closed 2024/25 on two-way deals with Philadelphia.

Hawks Add Eli John Ndiaye On Two-Way Contract

July 3: As expected, the Hawks have officially signed Ndiaye to a two-way contract, the team announced today in a press release.

June 26: The Hawks intend to sign free agent forward/center Eli John Ndiaye to a two-way contract, reports Shams Charania of ESPN (via Twitter).

Ndiaye has spent the past four seasons with Spanish club Real Madrid, which competes in both the EuroLeague and Liga ACB. In 24 EuroLeague contests this past season, he averaged 3.7 points and 2.5 rebounds in 14.6 minutes per contest, with a shooting slash line of .429/.341/.667.

The slender 6’8″ big man from Senegal was ranked No. 92 on ESPN’s big board prior to going undrafted tonight and 35th among players who were not selected. He was also ranked No. 77 by Sam Vecenie of The Athletic.

Daeqwon Plowden is the only two-way Hawks player whose contract carries over to 2025/26, so Ndiaye will join him on the roster, leaving one two-way opening for Atlanta.

Mark Sears Signs Two-Way Deal With Bucks

July 3: Sears’ two-way contract with the Bucks is official, according to the team (Twitter link).

June 26: Consensus All-American guard Mark Sears, who went undrafted, has agreed to a two-way contract with the Bucks, ESPN’s Shams Charania tweets.

The 6’1” Sears started 37 games in each of the last three seasons for Alabama after transferring from Ohio University. He averaged a career-best 21.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.0 assists during the 2023/24 season, shooting 50.8 percent from the field and 43.6 percent from distance.

He averaged 18.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists last season but his shooting percentage plunged to 40.3 percent overall and 34.5 percent from three-point land. He was still a consensus first-team All-American and made the All-SEC first team.

Sears’ size (6’1”) worked against him in the draft but it’s not out of the question he could see some NBA action as a rookie, considering the Bucks will be down a starter at point guard due to Damian Lillard‘s Achilles tear.

Hunter Dickinson To Sign Two-Way Contract With Pelicans

The Pelicans are signing former Michigan and Kansas center Hunter Dickinson to a two-way contract, ESPN’s Shams Charania reports (Twitter link).

The two-time consensus AP All-American holds career averages of 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 1.5 blocks while shooting 55.5% from the field. He played his first three college seasons with the Wolverines before playing with the Jayhawks each of the past two years.

Dickinson makes sense for the Pelicans, as key decision-maker Troy Weaver continues to add players from the DMV area. Just this week, New Orleans added Dickinson (from Virginia), Saddiq Bey (Maryland) and Derik Queen (Maryland).

Lester Quinones remains under contract on a two-way deal for New Orleans. He isn’t guaranteed to hold that spot, but if he does, the Pelicans will have one more two-way contract spot to offer after Dickinson’s deal is completed.

Suns Sign App State’s CJ Huntley To Two-Way Deal

July 3: Huntley’s two-way contract is official, the Suns announced today in a press release.

June 26: The Suns were quick to add an undrafted rookie from the 2025 class, agreeing to sign Appalachian State forward CJ Huntley to a two-way contract, according to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony (Twitter link).

Huntley played all five collegiate seasons at App State, improving almost every year. In 2024/25, he averaged 15.7 points, 8.1 rebounds and shot 49.3% from the field and 35.6% from three. He’s a 6’10” forward, giving Phoenix a potential developmental stretch big.

As Givony notes, Huntley gained fans during the pre-draft process, which was highlighted by a standout performance at the Portsmouth Invitational.

Phoenix has no players currently signed to two-way deals, so they’ll have two more spots to fill if they so choose. Collin Gillespie, Jalen Bridges and TyTy Washington closed the 2024/25 season on two-way deals with Phoenix, but will all be free agents.

Chucky Hepburn To Sign Two-Way Contract With Raptors

Louisville guard Chucky Hepburn, who was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year, has agreed to a two-way contract with the Raptors, ESPN’s Shams Charania tweets.

The 6’2” Hepburn started 137 games during his four-year college career but wasn’t selected in the draft. He spent his first three seasons with Wisconsin before joining the Cardinals. Hepburn expanded his offensive numbers at Lousville, averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game last season. He shot 43.2 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from deep, while making 84.4 percent of his free throws.

Hepburn scored 14 points in the ACC championship game against Duke and supplied 22 points and six assists in an NCAA Tournament opening-round loss to Creighton.

Toronto finished the season with an empty two-way spot. Hepburn will likely be ticketed for the G League in his first season but, given his experience, could be an early contributor at the NBA level if injuries arise to the Raptors backcourt.
