David Stern On Hearing, Kings, Maloofs

This evening NBA commissioner David Stern told reporters, including John Hollinger of ESPN.com (via Twitter) that the league's competition committee will meet on Monday to talk about the "trickery" and "deceit" of flopping and the possibility of adding more replay.  Here's more on what the commish had to say..

  • Stern expects a quick decision on the Early Bird rights hearing and believes that the league will win, according to Al Iannazzone of Newsday (via Twitter).  While Stern is expected to be optimistic about the league's chances in the case, other reports have suggested that they are expected to come out on top
  • Stern said that the owners wouldn't approve a move of the Kings' to Anaheim if it was on table and the team's owners plan on staying in Sacramento, tweets Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports.  Stern is dismayed by the Maloofs not taking the NBA's aid for a new arena, but says that its their choice to play in an old venue and better for the city of Sacramento than leaving, Spears tweets.
