Bulls Notes: Noah, Gibson, Gasol, Valentine

Free agent center Joakim Noah is putting together a list of possible destinations and seems increasingly likely to leave Chicago, according to Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times. Noah and his agent, Bill Duffy, are working though a priority list as they search for Noah’s next team, Cowley reports. In order, those are a winning team, a chance to start and finish games and a franchise that will support his foundation, Noah’s Arc. The Knicks’ prospects for landing Noah improved with the Derrick Rose trade, according to Cowley. The Wizards and Timberwolves, under the direction of former Chicago coach Tom Thibodeau, will also be contenders.

There’s more tonight out of Chicago:

  • The Bulls have been talking to a few teams about a trade involving Taj Gibson, Cowley writes in the same piece. The 31-year-old power forward will make $8.95MM next season in the final year of his contract. Cowley says the Bulls also seem likely to lose free agent center Pau Gasol, who will turn 36 soon and doesn’t want to be part of a rebuilding project.
  • Denzel Valentine‘s college coach says the No. 14 pick will be fine in the NBA despite concerns about the condition of his knees, relays K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. “I think he’ll be great for the Bulls,” said Michigan State’s Tom Izzo. “I know people are worried about the knees. I’m not saying he’s got 20-year-old knees, but the guy played in 144 of 148 games. He missed some practices when he had surgery on it, but that was it. I used to have to drag him out of games. He practiced. He worked out. He loves the game.”
  • Free agent point guard Brandon Jennings could help fill the void left by the loss of Rose, suggests Kendall Gill of CSNChicago. Jennings averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 assists this season in 48 games with the Pistons and Magic.

Well since durant doesn’t thank he can win at home here what I think wizards should do
Get horford, and Noah to agree to take 4 years each 20 million each the 1st year then sign curry to a 4 – 16 million and 2 million first year
Sign grieves Vazquez to 3 years 9 million -2 million 1st year
    Oj mayo to. A 2 years 8 million , 3 million 1st year
Beasley to 2 year 10 million
Sadoransky to 4 year 4 million
    White to 2 years – 1,6 million
    I sign Roberts to 3 year 4 million – 850 thousand the 1st year
Then I give beal 2 years 45 million with 1 year opt out
Not pick up either Eddie or Gooden contracts
Hat team would be at least as good as any other team
    C Noah
    Pf horford
    Sf porter
    Sg beal
    Pg wall
    C gortat
    C Roberts
    Pf Morris
    Pf white
    Sf Beasley
    Sf ombré
    Sg satoransky
    Sg mayo
    Pg curry
    Pg Vazquez
That team would show Durant , media and rest of nba . That team at least would win the east southern division and have great chance to make eastern conference finals and I think would give labron and cavs a challenge . I love it if he sign with Boston or New York they beat them. Or if sign with golden st, San Antonio , clippers the don’t even make the finals .

    • Have you heard of a salary cap? Signing Horford, Noah, and Beal at $20 million each puts the team at $60 million, not counting contracts to Wall and Gortat. Besides how crazy this idea is, I also enjoy how all these players are going to sign bargain contracts that make no sense other than what you value them at.

    • I keep seeing your name, and it’s always attached to the craziest ideas. Haha keep dreaming. I like your imagination kid.

Don’t forget the fact that you can’t just order raises however you want 7.5% raises max with bird rights. The only exception is the ultra rare Gilbert arenas provision which these players don’t qualify for. This site has some wonderful resources for this kind of thing, you would be well served using them.

I find it funny that Noah’s supposed first priority is joking a winning team but his three suitors aren’t likely to be playoff teams as of now

Izzo says… ““I know people are worried about the knees. I’m not saying he’s got 20-year-old knees”….. He’s 22 years old and according to his coach he has the knees of what? A thirty year old? You’d think with all of the issues the Bulls have had with Rose they’d want a guy with knees equal to his actual age…..

This guy again? Get real man. Quit posting this nonsense

It’ll be interesting to see how far under .500 the Bulls will finish without playing any defense.

Hopefully they do trade to T-Wolves and start a rebuild. As constructed, wont make playoffs and will pick in middle of draft.

  6. As a Knicks fan, I don’t want Noah. Too much money will be committed when i could use it else where. You can find cheap centers that can play decent defense and rebound.
