Andre Iguodala will miss his fifth consecutive game this Thursday, according to the Warriors, who issued a press release today officially ruling out the veteran forward for Game 1 of the NBA Finals.
The Warriors, who continue to call Iguodala’s injury a left lateral leg contusion/bone bruise, suggest that the 34-year-old is making progress, but is still experiencing pain and nerve inflammation. He’ll be re-evaluated prior to Game 2, according to the club.
League sources told ESPN’s Chris Haynes earlier this week that Iguodala recently received a second opinion on his troublesome left knee in an effort to address the issue. However, he has had no luck so far as he seeks a remedy for the injury. Head coach Steve Kerr had said prior to Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals that Iguodala’s body “has not responded at this point.”
Iguodala suffered the injury during Game 3 of the Western Finals when he bumped knees with James Harden.
While Iguodala’s absence may help open up the Cavaliers’ offense, considering the veteran is often tasked with guarding LeBron James, Cleveland has an injury of its own to worry about — Kevin Love remains in the NBA’s concussion protocol and his availability for Game 1 of the Finals is very much in doubt.
He’s also ruled out for game 5 since the series won’t last that long.

People just don’t seem to get that the refs try to influence every single game. The “missed calls” and “bad calls” are by design. They can only do so much to ensure the masses don’t catch on, but try watching LeBron game footage and it’s pretty obvious. The league panicked when Michael Jordan retired and the league lost viewership. They attempted to manufacture another Jordan and that’s why we get LeBron. No travel calls, no double dribble calls, can’t even defend him without getting a bogus call. It’s sad. I mean LeBron rubbed his groin on draymonds forehead and draymond get suspended, only after the league officials consult with lebron…
Sadly, most people with an opinion didn’t actually watch MJ play, or remember that time far differently than it actually was.
MJ got calls too. Superstars have been getting calls for a long time. If you genuinely think LeBron is a manufactured superstar, you’re a flat out idiot. He’s a superstar because he’s the best player alive – no matter how much you, and every other hater wishes he wasn’t.
You know I am really tired of all the Lebron haters & Golden State fans. Lebron is way way better than Jordan… not even close. & the calls by the referees is all trash man, if you believe this you shouldn’t watch NBA no more. Stop. People also say that about Harden & so on… but the reality is that the most of missed or bad calls I see favor always Curry, Durant, Green & so on… If anything there is no doubt that the NBA helps Golden State. So please stop talking garbage. Sorry if you are a Warrior fan, but enjoy Lebron while it lasts man.

You really meant to post, LeBron James would dominate if he played in any era. There wasn’t a player in any era with his size, speed, athleticism, passing ability, post up moves, step back jumper, dunking, blocking, stealing, basketball IQ, passing ability all rolled up into one human being.
If you missed it, most of the old timers have said this about James, “I have nightmares if James were to have the hand check rules like we had back in the day.” And my favorite, “LeBron being able to shoot a shorter 3 point line as it was back in the day? He’d be the all time 3 point % shooter of all time.”
