Lakers big man Anthony Davis says he’ll play Game 6 in the Finals despite a nagging heel injury, according to Mark Medina of USA Today.
Davis limped off the court late in first quarter of the Heat’s 111-108 win on Friday and some feared he might have a serious injury. It turned to be an aggravation of a right heel contusion that he first suffered during the conference finals against Denver.
He played 42 minutes and racked up 28 points, 12 rebounds, three steals and three blocks but was clearly hobbling as the game wore on.
“I’ll be fine Sunday,” Davis said.
Coach Frank Vogel isn’t ready to fully commit to Davis playing as the Lakers try to close out the Heat for the second time.
“He’s just battling through the heel,” Vogel said on his postgame press conference. “He was struggling to move a little bit but toughed it out. We’ll see how he feels (Saturday).”
Until the late going, Davis said the pain subsided and he was able to play effectively.
“It just wore off and got back to normal,” Davis said. “I kept moving around and tried not to sit down and get the adrenaline going. I was able to keep going and keep playing.”
The Heat have played most of the series without point guard Goran Dragic, who tore his left plantar fascia in Game 1.
Morris and Green might not be.
The whole team lacked effort and passion the entire game. Morris and Green shouldn’t have been in that position to begin with.

They will give it to LeBron even if the heat wins. Butler is the real MVP of the series being a one man team.
He got quite a bonk from Dwight. Howard and his “antics” might be losing future contract money with every game. Its possible he’s already resigned to re-sign with the Lakers for low dollars just to keep his homestyle.
I think the Lakers will win when they get Caruso going.
I do find it funny when somebody says Howard is getting more than a 1 year deal. He might get a team to ove rpay him on a 1 year deal but still there is a 50/50 chance he takes what Lakers offer him.

Howard isn’t getting a big contract.. for most teams, the traditional center is obsolete.. if he’s more than 5 million, lakers need to pass.. cousins will be back next year.. would take cousins over howard..Howard has alotnof moments of shaqtn the fool.. cousins is more skilled.. Howard has been absent from this series..
And if there was an award for Most Outstanding Player in the Finals, Butler would get it – win or lose. MVP is LeBron. Buckets has been phenomenal tho!
Howard hasn’t really done anything in finals..but what baffles me is why is kuzma getting minutes.. vogel quick to. Bench mcgee but kuzma not only isn’t shooting well but his defensive miscues are deplorable.. they are going at him on defense and he is failing miserably. He just isn’t a good player on a winning team.. he’s a player that can be good on a bad team and that will mask his deficiencies. Morris has provided a spark to team coming off bench.. he’s banging and he threw ball away.. rondo should’ve been in there at end.. kuzma has zero business being on floor.
Kuzma stock is falling fast. He looks like a 6th man off the bench not a all star.
If Kuzma’s stock is falling fast than Morris’s must be in freefall… I’ll at least give Kuzma the credit of playing with at least a little bit of energy…but Morris is 100% stagnant on both Off and D…Cannot believe Vogel has been using him in a close out rotation.
Morris is hitting 3’s.. Morris is also playing better defense than kuzma and also rebounding the ball.. what has kuzma done? Doesn’t shoot well, doesn’t defend, rebound or have assists
I agree with your analysis…both imo both are disappointing at the moment, certainly not trying to give Kuzma a wrap…that 4 point play…woeful in so many ways…but Morris also had a moment where he could have been a hero…instead it’s like he summoned his inner JR and just had a brain fart…so many other options than a deep contested pass to AD…like ummm being a hero and taking it hard to the hoop…or maybe giving it to a wide open Lebron may have been a lot easier pass
Basically anyone not named AD, Lebron or Rondo, can all play a lot better.
Loving this series though it’s been a lot more entertaining than what is seemed like it might play out though
I’m not saying Morris didn’t mess up.He panicked.. . but he at least bangs and he can hit 3’s.. he plays hard nose defense.. kuzma in other hand isn’t providing anything.. next game you watch, watch defender after defender drive by kuzma.. he is hurting the team and I don’t have patience for a player not playing within the team and the structure of winning basketball.. kuzma is too busy trying to be Hollywood..
Kuzma I am talking about was supposed to be the next big star now he is looking more like a 6th man off the bench. Wasn’t that long ago he was one of the up and coming players in the NBA. Now he looks like a average NBA player.
Another reason why lebron isn’t the goat. Completely disappeared last night to let Danny green hit brick after brick. Need him to step up final 2 minutes the way jimmy butler did he had 2 points. If lakers choke this lebron won’t be able to live this down.

MJ and Kareem did it at both ends of the floor – Russell didn’t. Respectfully, Russell’s biggest argument is always “11 rings”. That’s team, not individual. Celtic teammate Sam Jones has 10 rings. Does that make him a top 5 player of all-time But I understand the sentiment for Russell. Great man and great player. But, he wasn’t better than Hakeem or Shaq.

Truth is without Bron having an MVP series. LA wouldn’t even be here. He’s more important than AD. But their combination makes them a very good team. Difference is Bron knows where he is and what he wants to do. Unlike Harden n Westbrook who have only been a virtual fan at a NBA Finals. I’m rooting for Heat. But Bron is a baller we should all appreciate.
Lebron and Butler played amazing tonight, but the reason Heat won is Butler carrying the team and taking the pressure in the end. That is one of the mysteries of Lebron not taking the last shoots in game or try to force to get into the line . I know all well say the pass was the right play but he could of got fouled and went to the line and take the pressure of his teammates . Anyways only way Heat win Game six if AD still

Butler is a good at FT’s… LBJ not so much, he is not the guy you want takin’ them at the end of a tight game, you’d rather have AD in that situation.
