The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association announced today that eight new players have returned positive tests for the coronavirus since their last update on December 2.
The league and the players’ union announced last Wednesday that 48 players has tested positive for COVID-19 during the initial round of testing prior to training camp from November 24-30.
This week’s update represents a step in the right direction, though without a bubble in place to essentially eliminate the spread of the virus, it’s a safe bet that positive tests will continue to be reported in the coming weeks, especially with teams starting to travel to other markets for preseason games this weekend.

The players who have returned confirmed positive tests are isolating themselves until they receive clearance based on the rules and guidelines that have been established by the NBA.

No names ?? Don’t get how athletes don’t get protocols. Stay inside away from folks. Screen time only.
Man players catching the virus ain’t their fault, only way not to catch is not breathing, which I wouldn’t recommend personally btw!
Of course it’s their fault. Blaming others for your problems is a copout.
They can get after their families to wear protective gear or not go out. If they don’t take it seriously then they won’t play this year. If that means they need to get their own places to live until it’s over then that’s what you gotta do.
It’s not that hard to be careful. Wear a mask, gloves, and a eye coverings. Wipe things down touched by others or by your gloves since the gloves touched other people’s things, etc.
It’s not being paranoid. It’s protecting your health.
For example, my sister, who lives with her husband, both got it, but that’s because they went dancing and eventually took their masks off. He recovered quicker than she did as she coughed up blood. It’s very real, but you can recover if you also build up your immune system like she had been doing before, during, and after.
The takeaway is to not put yourself in dangerous situations or you also risk your family. Again, if they have careless family members then it’s okay to take measures to protect yourself. People understand.
I try to be proactive vs reactive when it comes to Covid. Have to be when you can’t afford to get sick and live with others.
Great defenders are also proactive vs reactive. Wonder how many of these players are offensive players? It’s definitely a mindset.
