Amid rumors that the Nets are willing to talk with the Sixers about a possible James Harden trade, Kevin Durant wants to see his All-Star teammate remain in Brooklyn, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said on tonight’s “NBA Countdown” (hat tip to Real GM).
Durant is currently sidelined with a knee injury, but hopes to return after the All-Star break. When he does come back, he wants “everyone in Brooklyn to be as committed to winning a title as he is,” Wojnarowski said.
There have been reports in recent weeks that Harden is unhappy in Brooklyn and is planning to test free agency this summer. He has a $47.4MM player option for the 2022/23 season, which he may turn down in hopes of landing a longer-term contract.
Assuming they keep him through the trade deadline, the Nets would still have the advantage of being able to offer more money and more years than any other team, but that may not be enough if Harden is determined to go to Philadelphia.
Harden, who has denied being the source for the free agency speculation, has been telling Durant and Nets management that he wants to stay with the team, according to Wojnarowski.
I don’t see Harden leaving Brooklyn this is his best shot to win a ring.

Just trade Ben and Thybulle and a first for Harden and Millsap.
Nets can atleast play good defence and the offence of KD and Kyrie can Ole fully carry them. Kyrie Joe Harris KD Simmons Aldridge line ups would work and Mills and Thybulle off the bench would be really nice. Plus Cam Thomas, Sharpe, Griffin etc it would be looking good.
For the Sixers Harden can go back to playing SG and dropping 40 a game again. Link back up with Morey and his mate the owner and go to the finals and win a ring. Joel and Harden would be an insane and unstoppable duo.

Jimmy vs Harden would be nice but Joel beats out Bam. Harris vs Lowry as support cast, Herro vs Maxey in battle of youth, but I’d take Drummond Millsap Green and Curry over their guys.
Bucks, don’t see Holiday doing enough to stop Harden in a 7 gam series. Middleton vs Harris would be nice, Giannas vs Joel would be great. But again Maxey Green Drummond Curry, I’d have those guys over Lopez, Hill, Portis and so on.

Harden has averaged at 7 assists per game per season for the last 10 years in including 5 seasons of 10 or more. He has a career Usage rating of 30.5 including the 2nd highest rating of all time. Dude has been literally a PG for the last 10 years. He loves to be the PG.
He’s been listed as a shooting guard and dropping buckets like one forever too. He’s the fourth greatest SG of all time not point guard. Yes the numbers are great passing wise and that’s been a huge part of his game but he’s not a point guard. Next to Becerlybhe was a SG next to CP3 he was a SG and next to Russ he was a SG

Like all American pro sports, the NBA is all about the playoffs. The regular season means little. Since 20 teams out of 30 make the playoffs the regular season is a cross between training camp and exhibition games.
It’s all about players being healthy for the post-season, and having some familiarly with one another as the league plays more playground basketball than organized basketball.
So if the Nets Big 3 are healthy then the supporting cast can do the heavy lifting of necessary grunt work while the stars preen for the cameras.
But the fact is that the post-Jordan stars that demand to be catered to are aging, and have been replaced by full teams of young players that listen to their coaches as opposed to visa versa. Last year the Bucks and Suns played for the Championship. Solid teams that shared the ball and rotated on D. That is the new trend of the NBA. Teams such as those 2 along with the Bulls, Heat, Cavs, Jazz, Grizzles, Sixers and others are now taking over the NBA. It’s no longer the Globetrotters against the Washington Generals.
The phrase: “It’s A Young Mans Game” has always applied to professional sports in America. A pity the national sports media can’t keep up.

KD is showing that he is Robin, and not Batman. The players that he recruited are out of control. The head coach of his choosing is not aging well. Harden continues to show he does not play well with others and Kyrie has a different agenda unless LeBron runs the team.
