Ariana Andonian will be named the general manager of the Sixers‘ NBA G League affiliate, the Delaware Blue Coats, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype tweets.
Andonian is already the Sixers’ VP of player personnel, a position she has held since last September. She was previously the Grizzlies’ director of player personnel and a scouting coordinator for the Rockets. She graduated from USC in 2015 and received her MBA from Duke in 2020.
We have more from the Atlantic Division:
- How can the Sixers regain relevance in the Eastern Conference chase? According to Philadelphia Inquirer columnist Marcus Hayes, they must treat oft-injured stars Joel Embiid and Paul George with kid gloves. He suggests plenty of load management, including no back-to-backs for either one and even some road trip “vacations.” Hayes calculates there should be at least 17 games in which neither is available and believes both of them should play sparingly until around the trade deadline.
- The Knicks won’t begin training camp until Sept. 24 but The Athletic’s James Edwards III offers up his depth chart surprises, rotations and starting lineup changes. Edwards believes Mitchell Robinson should start in the middle with Josh Hart serving as the sixth man. Edwards rounds out the second unit with Jordan Clarkson, Miles McBride, Guerschon Yabusele and Ariel Hukporti.
- In case you missed it, the Raptors are making general manager Bobby Webster their full-time head of basketball operations. Get all the details here.
Yes, the sixers key to success is not to play their best players. No wonder they moved the capital…
Well technically they moved the capital as a sop to the Southern racists and to protect slavery, but you do you.
You are both right. But you are more of a buzzkill.
Embiid should start the season in March
Trade George for 3 players
$30 mm – good player
$20 mm – defensive PF
$10 mm – average player
Who could they possibly trade George to? With his contract, he has zero value.
Here’s the roadmap Morey should have for Embiid – assuming some semblance of health will come, he will perform at a high level …….. the goal is to showcase him as much as possible, then try to trade him in the next offseason.
Hopefully some schmuck team will be desperate enough and trade for Embiid, by that time.
Same roadmap applies to Podcast / Pinky P.
Sixers Organization is the biggest circus
Embiid has been healing for almost two yrs now. Why wouldn’t he be ready this year. PG was shut down to tank. So he should be ready. Has sat a year.
Sixers are one of deepest teams. When they sign Grimes. And VJ E another NY high flyer. Could be next Vince Carter …… Sixers have talent.
The Inquirer reported yesterday that Embiid’s knee is still an issue at this point and it’s doubtful he’ll be ready for the start of the season.
Towns and Mitch starting a terrible move. If it was up to me. I would trade Towns. It’s never going to happen. So I can see Mitch being moved. His contract is up this year. Be best to invest in a PF. Who can play with Towns. Hukporti is ready to be the backup 14-16 mins a game. Jonathan Issac……..
Al, what do you think? The Knicks need Danny Wolf of the Nets. Mitch and a two-way should do it, OR send Towns for Wolf & a pick?
Joel
Embiid
Does
Not
Want
To
Play
Basketball
But he does want to be paid for not playing 😜
Exactly
Personally I think the Sixers should try acquiring basketball players who can play basketball. That’s just me though.
