October 16: Antetokounmpo’s two-way deal with Milwaukee is official, according to NBA.com’s transaction log.
October 13: The Bucks are signing Alex Antetokounmpo to a two-way deal, ESPN’s Shams Charania tweets.
He joins older brothers Giannis and Thanasis, who are both on standard contracts. This will mark the first time in NBA history that three brothers are on active roster contracts with the same team, Charania adds.
The Bucks are waiving Jamaree Bouyea to open up a two-way slot for the younger Antetokounmpo, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype tweets.
Alex Antetokounmpo has mainly spent his pro career in the G League. He played for the Raptors 905 in 2021/22 and the Bucks’ affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, from 2022-24 after signing camps deals with the NBA teams and then getting waived during training camp.
Antetokounmpo also had stints in Lithuania, Montenegro and Greece. He requested his release from PAOK in the Greece Basketball League in August, then joined Aris Thessaloniki, another club in Greece, but only appeared in two games with that team. A report surfaced last week that he was headed to the U.S. to play in the G League again.
The addition of Alex can certainly be construed as another way of keeping his superstar brother happy in Milwaukee. There have been persistent rumors regarding Giannis’ future, including a report last week that the Knicks had preliminary discussions this summer with the Bucks regarding a blockbuster trade.
What’s Kostas up to?
Also I’m assuming Bouyea gets waived
Lavar just filed to change his last name to Antetokounball.
this is very funny on a couple levels, kudos
Oh man, they really want to keep Giannis happy, huh?
Sell the stadium naming rights to poppa $1 ;)
No one talks about the kid (I guess it’s Bouyea) whose NBA dream just got crushed because a superstar insisted the team hire his completely un-NBA-talented brother. This is repeated over and over in the League, usually for buddies not family members. It sucks.
I’m sure if the Bucks thought Bouyea was going to develop into a contributor, they would have kept him.
This nepotism process is not exclusive to the NBA and I envy your sheltered life if you haven’t observed or encountered this elsewhere in your experience. It’s quite literally how the world works.
Ask yourself if you were a Bucks fan faced with the onslaught of Giannis rumors, would you be happy or sad with this transaction? Is the potential of keeping Giannis around better for the Bucks franchise than the potential of Bouyea?
World has always worked this way lol.
Not my money. I don’t care.
Don’t know anything about him except he has good size. Wish him luck.
Bouyea is actually 2 years older than Alex Antetokounmpo.
And we don’t know if Giannis had anything to do with this, or were Milwaukee acting on their own accord. Didn’t Miami draft Shabazz Napier all those years ago because they wanted to keep LeBron and he tweeted he liked the player or something?
And Druuu is right, this happens all the time everywhere in life.
He did and it’s why he won’t win another championship. Don’t give me that you’re looking out for your family crap. If you’re taking spots away from deserving players but your family, that’s an nepotism. We got a call of Spade of spade and we say the same thing about LeBron and now giannis is doing the same thing. The way he is acting is not like a winner and he is destroying the bucks. To be honest, the best thing the bucks can do is move off a giannis now so they can get as much as back as they can. They already destroy this team when they traded for Dame, they have no Future and are turning into the Lakers as we speak. Only different the Lakers are in LA And we were able to get Luka (courtesy of the NBA) That type of deal won’t happen till Milwaukee. All in all, giannis’s an all-time player top 20 of all time but only won one championship for the City. Kareem did the same thing so I don’t understand why it’s so hard to just move on from him or let him know that the team will not be able to contend but continue to trading assets at assets and signing brother is just a bad way to go
Its a 2way contract in the G-league …..
Get a grip. I doubt you care or know anything about the 13. 14, 15 player on ANY roster in NBA.
What are you talking about “deserving players”? Neither you nor I knew who this guy Bouyea was before we read this article. xD
You think Milwaukee are passing on world-beaters who can change the fortunes of the team to keep Giannis’ brothers in the squad? These are two-way players we are talking about here.
I never said anything about LeBron and his kid. I think it’s a non-story anyway. 2024 draft was so poor and shallow in talent that Bronny, who actually spent all his life working on his basketball skills, is not the worst out of 60 who got drafted.
He played 181 total NBA minutes, so he had absolutely no impact on LAL and their season; it’s not like he dragged them down or something.
And LeBron took 2 million less than he could on his extension in 2024, essentially making it a freebie for LAL to sign Bronny. A guy could be waived like anyone else on a rookie deal and that’ll be the end of it.
People spend a million times more effort trying to make points about Bronny than his actual impact merits.
Giannis never winning another title is a very safe bet. Because the chances of winning one are very slim when 30 teams are contending. It is a very very safe bet to say “Giannis is never winning a title again” or “Steph is never winning a title again” or “KD is never winning one again” or “Brunson is never winning one” etc. Probabilities are not in favour of any of those guys.
You’re not making a spectacular point by saying that.
Milwaukee can’t move on from Giannis because they don’t own their own picks until 2031. If they trade him, they will not be able to pick high in the lottery.
Get a grip because your not a kid who has worked their entire life to get a opportunity in a shot. Two-Way contracts were invented to showcase player skills and give them an opportunities to make the NBA. They were not added as g-league spots because they’re G league spots and people can get on those teams if they want to. The two is like practice squad roster spot so you can showcase what you got and what skills you have to try to earn a spot onto an NBA team. The G League at this point is a development league that every person on the team is out for themselves to showcase their skills so it’s very hard to get better in the G League. It’s exactly why guys scored 20 in the G League and can’t even average five in the NBA. It’s not baseball or the MLB. If they want that type of farm system they would have to move to where all the players on both teams are signed to the NBA team. Then they can control the players and the systems and different things like that.
Second you guys are talking I spoiled fans and that straight up. You’re in a comment section talking about who cares about the 14/15th man. Will that person spent a lot of time working on their game to get to where they’re at. Same as if you’re on your job and you’re working hard for a promotion or to be senior partner just for somebody’s brother who is never practiced law or never did any sales comes in and takes the senior manager position from you that you’ve been working for for 12 to 14 years.
So yes it does matter. Last and not least as a leader when you’re talking about leading a team that is a big part about winning a championship. So saying KD or Steph Curry not winning another championship is completely different than giannis. First of all, Kd not even in the same sentence as giannis because Kd never let a team to a championship. So let’s use Curry. Yes, you can say Curry might not want another championship because he’s 37 years old where giannis has been in this Prime for the last 3 years and is in his prime now. So to say your not going to win a championship in your Prime is crazy.
Giannis is not showing any leadership abilities or skills evident over the last couple years. How the team has been willing to bend over backwards and give him exactly what he wants and he still demanding more. If you don’t think other players in the locker room, see when players like LeBron and giannis add family members to the team. When there’s other deserving players, it’s going to undermine your role players, your second tier stars and different things like that to not want to play with you or follow your leadership.
So yes, if you want to get on your high horse and post some crap about you may not win another championship or who cares. Then you’d actually don’t understand how to play professionals, sports or what goes into it.
You’re speaking about impact as in bonny not affecting the team, it’s bigger than that. It’s about leadership as I said in my other post. The fact of the matter is bronnie. James is not an NBA player. He’s nowhere near NBA player and shouldn’t have been drafted in. Wouldn’t have been drafted. He’s taking up a roster spot and minutes because the fact he played 180 1 minutes was 181 minutes away from another player who could have showcased their skills. So however, you want to slice it. LeBron has been one of the most selfish NBA superstars that we’ve ever had. Again to me he’s top five or six NBA all-time so we’re not taking away from what he’s done. But the fact of the matter is he’s a selfish Superstar. Everything is about him and what he needs and his moment. And the Lakers are ready to move on which they’ve shown you that they will be moving on after next year
Oh stop with the Bronny crap your exposing yourself
No laker fan cares about whoes butt is warming the 14 th seat on the bench
Where was your rage for Maxwell Lewis who the lakers spent higher draft capital on ( pick 37 to 55 ) was on the lakers longer ( 1.5 years to 1 ) and is now no longer in the league ?
You wanna go back to Mark Madsen who was only kept around as a fan fave too ?
Fake rage , move on
We been over this before. You are a LeBron super fan that will defend anything.
Maxwell- was an all conference player as a freshman and avg 16.6 points a game in college
Madison- played 7 year’s for Minnesota after his two years in La. He was also top 10 in Stanfords history in blocks per game.
Good try you have zero basketball knowledge and probably haven’t played organize ball ever in you life.
Last time I will say this those spots are for kids who have put in the work to see if they can become an NBA player nobody said anything about impact. Last but not least I thought the Lakers were trying to win a championship. Championship teams have impact player as 12-14 players for injuries.
Men lie women lie numbers don’t lie!!!
Oh stop with the “ stats “
Nobodies post has anything to do with stats on this thread
Your on sone emo tip that nobody cares about and surprised that the rest of us don’t care – We like basketball here , not day time tele soaps , try twitter
Stats , yikes 😳
I will never respond to any post of your again. You have never played basketball. It shows. You actually have no idea and think pick-up ball is real ball. The fact you said nobody cares about stats when your argument is Bonny being a NBA player avg 2 points in college. You brought actually player that worked hard and got shutdown and your only reply is trying Twitter. You gotta be the biggest baby I have ever met. I will not debate a fool
Cool beans eno boy , judging by others dunking on you on the daily it’s probably in my best interest
I think twitter would be a good place for you tho , lotta other eno boys such as yourself talk Bronny non stop :)
Okay, bronny didn’t mean to offend you🤣
No this is not why they won’t win another championship. Trading for Lillard didn’t destroy them either. They needed someone else that could create offense in clutch situations since they couldn’t count on Middleton. Age and injuries as caught up with them as it does every team.
Imagine that Heat team drafted Jokic in 2014 lol
“Giannis, we will nepotize this entire organization if it means you don’t leave us, baby.”
Exactly this. More exit rumors? Sign another brother ASAP!
Bouyea is a good player who deserves a roster spot
No he is not. If he was he would be on another team. If you notice, Seth Curry was able to go from Team Team to team and didn’t have to play on his brother’s team. When the only team that wants you is the team, your brother or son or whoever plays for you’re not good enough to play in the league
Are you blind?
Bouyea’s job was toast the moment they signed Mark Sears. Teams rarely keep two players at the same position on Two-Ways. He was just insurance in case KPJ/Anthony/Rollins didn’t work at PG and all three of those guys are playing well.
I hope Giannis realizes how good he has it, no organization that wants to win will continue to sign the family. Don’t care if it is 2way, some teams know how to find contributors on 2 way deals.
You’re having a laugh? If a team out there knew that Giannis would come if they signed his relatives, all 3 of his brothers would get vet minimum deals right away, and his 50 y.o. uncle (if he’s got one, IDK) would get signed to a two-way.
3 brothers, Giannis, and 11 more players on standard deals. So 12 playable guys? Not bad at all. That’s more than twice as many as JJ Redick thought he could trust from his squad in the 2025 playoffs.
The facts about a Giannis trade …….
Facts are —— it helps the Bucks MORE at this point. So get off the Giannis hate bandwagon. Grown men jealous of athletes banking Feria ….
Milwaukee needs Nico Harrison as a GM.
Right ….. he’d trade Giannis quick. Then everyone here crying about nepotism. Would be crying about Bucks not getting enough for Giannis pol.
Anybody crying about the bucks? Not getting enough for giannis doesn’t understand how the trade market works. Either giannis is going to get screwed or the bucks are going to get screwed. Either way you’re not getting fair value for either player. One the salary is too high, so in order to massive salaries on a championship team, you’re most likely sending out good players. That in itself will turn that team into the bucks. The bucks and giannis are responsible for the State of the team that they’re in. As a player if you want to play LeBron and play GM every single player that does that ends up with either one championship and sorry ass teams and destroys the franchise. You cannot be a player coach at the same time or a player. GM players need to play and GM’s need to GM. As a player If there is a player or two that you want, I understand that. But trying to construct a team putting your family on the team trading for this player saying you’re going to leave. If the team doesn’t get better. You’re creating the drama yourself and at this point giannis has become a diva.
The Knicks are not containers to trade for giannis at all. These are filler articles. There’s no way a trade works at this time. After the bridges trade there are no pics. And trading OG and towns we’ll make the New York Knicks basically the Milwaukee bucks and they’ll be in the same situation they were in before offensive players with no defense and no money to sign any other player. So the best the bucks can do is ride this season out and make the money from the merchandise cuz they are nowhere near contenders to actually win and then try to move off giannis by trying to get something back before he ops out the year after that. A team that giannis goes to is not going to be a contender and he’s going to need a year or so get the pieces he needs to compete and by then if San Antonio and OKC and a few of the other young teams probably will have passed him by then anyways.
Last but not least, I’m not really sure giannis is going to age really well and that’s not facts. That’s me just speaking opinion so I could be wrong but I don’t believe at 33/34 giannis is going to be an all NBA player at that time. He may still be an All-Star but not enough to lead a team to a championship

Holy Airball.
I cant believe I had to do this, but my other account is not posting my posts for 24 hours if at all, and no one can apparently reply to them? What is this? Its not that serious, yall. Let me post in peace please, Gary is literally calling out my name for a reply and I then I give him one but he can never see it? Wow.
What is this, you say? Consequences, that’s what.
You mean the poster who literally threatened my life and wasnt banned did NOT do worse than me, telling someone they dont know ball? Interesting.
This site is FUBAR as far as commenting goes – at least half the time I can’t reply to multiple commenters and also it’s interesting that arc89 had to create a new account this week because his quit working.
I wish someone in their IT would fix the bugs.
Exactly. Aristotle and I love each others takes and always “yes, and” each other, showing good hoop-talking chemistry (think: podcast hosts) but we could not reply directly to each other…until now.
Maybe the best thing to do here is have everyone open a new account and use that one?
