Patrick Beverley was arrested on Friday in Texas and charged with assault of a family/household member, per TMZ Sports.
According to the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office, a “family violence incident” between relatives resulted in deputies being sent to the home. Beverley was booked and had a bond set at $40K, which he posted.
“Please don’t believe everything you see on the internet. Hope all is well,” Beverley tweeted on Friday night.
“Patrick Beverley has no criminal record. He cares deeply about his little sister — a young lady, a minor,” Beverley’s lawyer said in a statement sent to TMZ. “Given that, when he unexpectedly found her alone in the home with an 18-year-old man in the middle of the night, he was understandably concerned, as any brother would be about his sister. However, we don’t believe what followed happened the way it’s been described, and we look forward to the opportunity to address that in court.”
Jenna West of The Athletic writes that the investigation remains ongoing and that the police have not released additional details.
Beverley spent 12 seasons in the NBA and appeared in 666 regular season games, but has been out of the league since 2023/24. He spent part of last season with Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.
Seems everyday a (millionaire) athlete is arrested. Gambling, working with the mafia, attempted murder, assault
What’s your point
Seems like every day people who aren’t millionaire athletes are arrested as well.
Yeah, because Patrick Beverly is clearly an outstanding citizen. lol
He caught his 18 yesr old man in bed with his 15 year old sister in his home there’s a lot of things to hold against Pat Bev this isn’t one of them
I’ve had the good fortune of meeting Pat when he was with the Clippers and yes, he is an outstanding citizen. Any team or teammate charity event, Pat was the first to volunteer. Pat was not the kind to just “show up,” he would be fully engaged & present. He’s a great guy.
I probably wouldn’t respond well if I found an 18 year old dude with my underage sister either
There is really not enough info to comment intelligently on the matter, so why are people on here getting pissy with each other? Maybe Beverley assaulted someone and maybe he didn’t. Maybe that person deserved it and maybe they didn’t. Only facts I can see here is that I don’t know and it’s nine of my business and it’s not going to affect my life any at all. Honestly, I wonder what the point is of reporting it at all? What’s the point other than to get people riled up?
If you read this whole article and you’re against Pat something is wrong with you.
This story got flashbacks of Al Bundy written all over it.

An 18 year-old and and 15 year-old does not make the kid a pedo. Parents should be notified and both teens should be reprimanded, but assaulting him and call him a pedo is way too far.
Exactly, the kid could’ve just turned 18 or little sis is closer to 16 than 15.
I wonder if Beverly hit them from behind when they weren’t looking. He was always good at pushing players from behind after the whistle.
Jokic style
Totally different. What Jokic did was totally deserved cause he was retaliating for the same thing done to him.
Beverly hit a bunch of different people from behind unwarranted AND after a play was stopped.
A lot of explaining and justifying in these comments. Some of y’all are coming off kinda suspect. Next edition of hoops rumors: to catch a predator
Old school on this topic
We definitely need more info because this story doesn’t add up.
First, Patrick says he didn’t recognize or know the guy with his sister. Then how did he know it was some 18 year old guy? That 15-20 range is all over the place and different people look different ages. So that is clearly not what happened.
Second, the charges are specific in that he assaulted a family member. This is not a charge for assaulting the “18 year old” he claims to have found. If he had “beat up” the young fella, the charges would have been different, and included battery, which is what the actual charge for fighting is.
Third, since we know the charges for assaulting a family member, he likely took it upon himself to decide his sitter shouldn’t be with anyone, regardless of age, and in classic sociopath fashion attempted to control his sister with physical force, which is fairly believable for a meathead athlete with no education.
Fourth, why was he in his sisters house? Or why was she in his?
Nothing adds up here. Likely will never get the real story.
