February 17: The Warriors have officially signed Williams to a two-way contract, according to the NBA.com transaction log.
February 16: The Warriors are signing Nate Williams to a two-way contract, Jake Fischer of The Stein Line tweets.
Also known as Jeenathan Williams, the 6’5” shooting guard has been playing for the NBA G League’s Long Island Nets while awaiting another NBA opportunity. He was on a training camp contract with the Lakers last fall but was waived in October.
Williams, who turned 27 last Thursday, spent last season with the Rockets, first on a two-way deal and eventually on a standard contract. He got into 20 games, averaging 3.3 PPG and 0.7 RPG in 7.4 MPG, then was waived by Houston over the summer.
After the Lakers let him go, Williams hooked on with the Nets’ G League affiliate. He has averaged 18.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.8 steals in 34 minutes per game over 35 appearances. He’s made 47.2% of his field goal attempts, including 36.5% from long range.
Williams also appeared in 22 games with Houston in 2023/24 and five games with Portland the previous season. He went undrafted out of Buffalo in 2022.
Golden State had a two-way opening and won’t need to make a corresponding move. The Warriors created a two-way opening by promoting Pat Spencer right after the trade deadline.

Warriors need people who score baskets when Curry is out. If he can help it’s a good thing.
I don’t think we’ll see this guy on the big club this season. But, he seems like a good 2-way signing. Elite level defense. Good size. A capable slasher. Needs a bit more consistency in his shooting. He could be some nice depth in the coming seasons.
To me, adding solid capable guys like this the smart thing to do. He probably won’t be an All-Star. But, solid rotation guys help you win championships. Look at how important Livingston was.
Livingston was a high draft pick stud
Livingston had a devastating knee injury that derailed his career. He didn’t really become a solid rotation piece until his final years with GS.
He was an amazing player for Warriors
To me, he is one of those who wasn’t a star. But, they couldn’t have done it without him. I always appreciate those guys.
They actually need rebounding and rim protection. Why sign another guard?
Bassey would have made more sense.
Bassey can’t sign a 2-way contract. Bassey was on a 10 day contract with the Sixers. The Warriors, until the KP trade, didn’t have any roster space. If the signed him now, they might have trouble finding minutes.
76ers filled their roster with Jabari Walker.
So Bassey is available for the Warriors’ last roster spot. Considering their rebounding problems, they should sign him.
Warriors on a generational run of adding undersized guards for no damn reason – this guy isnt better than Moody or Richard. GET BIGS.
They just got KP. they also have Post and Halford. They need scoring especially 3 pt shooting.
Moody has 3 point shooting. They should have cut Seth already if he isn’t ever going to play.
Moody needs to be more consistent he needs to put together back to back 30 point games not 15 point games.
They need a young shot blocking C
The Warriors had Manute Bol for 3 seasons. They were mediocre-to-bad. You need a center that can do more than block shots.
He’s a decent approximation of Will Richard.
It seems like Dunleavy has a type. How it works out with a good draft pick, or FA, remains to be seen.
Waive Seth Curry and sign Wiseman
