Interesting chat today. This was the first time I’ve seen a national sportwriter mention that the Bulls could use their $62 million of off season cap space to improve their team.
The problem isn’t the Bulls Cap Space. The problem is the FO has no idea what to do with Cap Space. The last time these same guys had some they went Hog Wild on horrible choices. What they should do now is flip Okoro, Tre Jones, Jalen Smith and if humanly possible Patrick Williams for whatever they can get. Hope like heck Portland finishes 8th, Pray for some Ping Pong Ball luck and draft some bigs, Depending on exactly where their picks end up. It could be fixed in one off season but nobody in Chicago believes the right people are in place to make that happen. The two saddest things to watch in basketball are the Bulls FO with Cap Space and Patrick Williams trying to dribble a basketball.
Hope is not a strategy. Trading good players for whatever you can get is not what the Bulls should do. I agree things can get fixed this summer and expect they will.
