Poll: Which Injury Will Have The Biggest Impact On Trades?

The news of Ricky Rubio's season-ending injury threatens to alter the landscape of the trade market. While Rubio is not a trade candidate, the Wolves have figured prominently in trade discussions of late, so a change in Minnesota's plans could be a change for several other teams as well. A number of recent injuries threaten to have an impact on the trade market as well. Luke Adams of Hoops Rumors took a look at some of those injuries Monday. Brook Lopez, a key figure in rumored Dwight Howard trades, went down March 4 with a sprained ankle that will keep him out three weeks. Jermaine O'Neal, once thought to be part of a deal with the Wolves for Michael Beasley and someone who could be a part of a Celtics blockbuster, is considering season-ending surgery on his wrist. Richard Hamilton suffered a right shoulder sprain Monday and is out indefinitely, a source of frustration for a Bulls team with championship aspirations that's weak at the wings.

So, which player's injury do you think will have the greatest impact on trades? Let us know what you think.

Which Injury Will Have The Biggest Impact On Trades?

  • Brook Lopez 41% (353)
  • Ricky Rubio 37% (319)
  • Richard Hamilton 12% (101)
  • Jermaine O'Neal 6% (53)
  • Someone Else 5% (42)

Poll: Which Team Is A Trade Away From The Elite?

Earlier today, we looked at five Eastern Conference contenders to key an eye on at the trade deadline as teams jockey for playoff positioning.  Most people think that the Heat and Bulls are a step above everyone else in the East, and for good reason.  As we near the trade deadline, let's look at the group below those two elite Eastern Conference teams.  Which of the following likely playoff teams in the East would benefit the most by making a splash at the trade deadline?  Who is a trade away from being able to compete with the class of the East?

For very obvious reasons, I am taking Orlando out of the equation here.  Feel free to offer any trade scenarios this poll evokes in the comments section.

Which Team Is A Trade Away From The Elite?

  • None Of The Above Can Touch Miami or Chicago 31% (298)
  • Philadelphia 76ers 21% (200)
  • Indiana Pacers 17% (163)
  • New York Knicks 17% (162)

Poll: Who Is The Least Tradeable Point Guard?

Yesterday, Rajon Rondo and Deron Williams both put on historic performances that won’t soon be forgotten. Yet, funny as it may be, there’s a small possibility both of them could be traded before the trade deadline passes on March 15th. And so, as we ponder big names with franchise altering talent, let’s take a look at the point guard position (currently the deepest in the league) and ask which floor general do you consider to be the least tradeable; which guy would shock you the most if you heard his name switching teams sometime in the next 10 days.

Who Is The Least Tradeable Point Guard?

  • Derrick Rose 73% (1,674)
  • Chris Paul 9% (206)
  • Russell Westbrook 6% (145)

Poll: Which Team Is Most Likely To Land A Star?

Last night we asked you which star is most likely to be dealt at the March 15 trade deadline, and so far the results seem split between Dwight Howard, Pau Gasol and Monta Ellis, with a slight edge to Howard. So, the next question is where you think those stars could be going before the deadline. The Nets, Warriors, Rockets and Lakers all seem to either be actively pursuing big names or have been frequently linked to major trade candidates. The Knicks always seem to be lurking around the perimeter of splashy moves, too. Without regard to where superstars might sign in the offseason, which of these teams do you think is most likely to land a marquee talent?

Which Team Is Most Likely To Land A Star?

  • Los Angeles Lakers 40% (398)
  • New Jersey Nets 25% (253)
  • None of the above 16% (164)
  • Golden State Warriors 9% (90)
  • Houston Rockets 6% (56)
  • New York Knicks 5% (46)

Poll: Who Benefits From Lopez For Ellis Swap?

It’s a popular rumor floating around right now, and one that makes sense for each side; we covered it a little earlier. Golden State and New Jersey are two teams who would like to make something happen before the trade deadline passes, and making a deal involving such big names could get the attention of some attractive free agents this offseason.

Who Benefits In A Brook Lopez For Monta Ellis Based Trade?

  • New Jersey Nets 37% (534)
  • Golden State Warriors 31% (444)
  • Both Make Out Well 16% (230)

Poll: Will The Lakers Trade Pau Gasol?

Player-only meetings often happen as the result of a lengthy losing streak or a particularly embarrassing defeat, but this wasn't the case for the Lakers, who called a players-only meeting after a resounding win over the Trail Blazers yesterday. According to ESPN.com's Chris Broussard, Derek Fisher and Kobe Bryant gathered the team to try to set the tone for the rest of the season, making sure no one was distracted by trade rumors.

Many of those trade rumors have involved Pau Gasol, who has been linked to the Rockets, Timberwolves, Magic, and Celtics, among other teams. While we continue to follow today's Pau-related updates here, today's poll question is simple: Will Gasol be traded? Whether or not the Lakers should trade the Spaniard is another discussion altogether, one which you can weigh in on in the comments section. But will the Lakers trade Gasol before this season's trade deadline?

Will The Lakers Trade Pau Gasol?

  • Yes 57% (803)
  • No 43% (598)

Poll: Which Team Will Sign J.R. Smith?

J.R. Smith's time in China is coming to an end. With his team out of playoff contention, Smith's Chinese contract is set to expire this week. The CBA's leading scorer will return to America after the Golden Bulls' final game, and will become an unrestricted free agent after receiving his FIBA letter of clearance.

Smith reportedly has a list of five teams he's considering, though it's not clear if that interest is necessarily mutual, or if the 26-year-old would consider offers from other clubs. I covered a few possible destinations for Smith last week, running through his alleged wishlist as well as a couple other teams I thought would be good fits. Since then, we've heard that the Knicks are thought to be the frontrunners, while Chris Paul is doing some recruiting work on behalf of the Clippers.

With Smith due back in the NBA in the very near future, where do you think he'll end up signing?

Which Team Will Sign J.R. Smith?

  • Los Angeles Clippers 29% (485)
  • New York Knicks 27% (444)
  • Chicago Bulls 14% (242)
  • Los Angeles Lakers 14% (226)
  • Another Team 7% (123)
  • Minnesota Timberwolves 6% (95)
  • Oklahoma City Thunder 2% (32)
  • San Antonio Spurs 2% (27)
