The Rockets are now in play for free agent guard Ramon Sessions, a source tells Jeff Caplan of ESPNDallas.com. The 26-year-old is said to be seeking a starting job and the security of a multiyear deal, something that the Mavericks seem prepared to offer. 4:09pm: Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports confirms (via Twitter) that the two teams Camby is visiting in the coming days, the Heat and Knicks, are the frontrunners to land him.
3:23pm: If the questions I received in yesterday's live chat were any indication, Rockets fans aren't entirely on board with the direction of the team's offseason so far. It seems that stance may extend to the team's free agents as well, as a source tells Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida (Twitter link) that Houston is no longer Marcus Camby's preferred destination. According to Tomasson, Camby's tune has "changed greatly" this week, and he's now wary about re-signing with the Rockets, since the team appears to be rebuilding.
In yesterday's round-up of Dwight Howard rumors, we heard that the Nets and Magic were "still plugging away" in negotiations, and that the Magic are seeking cap relief in any deal. The Lakers also remain in the hunt, as Kobe Bryant would welcome the opportunity to play with Howard, even if he won't actively recruit him. - The Suns and Bulls are the two teams "most heavily in the mix" for Michael Redd, says Chris Tomasson of FOX Sports Florida.
- Marcus Camby will meet with the Heat tomorrow and the Knicks next, tweets Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. Feigen adds that Camby likely won't meet with the Rockets until there's resolution on Omer Asik.

The Rockets officially announced today in a team release that they have signed 2011 first-round pick Donatas Motiejunas to a rookie scale contract. The 21-year-old was the 20th overall pick a year ago, so he figures to receive a rookie contract equivalent to what this year's 20th overall pick (Evan Fournier) would be eligible for — if he signed for the maximum 120%, Motiejunas will make $1,361,400 in his rookie season.
The Rockets acquired the rights to Motiejunas last June in a trade with the Timberwolves. The Lithuanian big man spent the 2011/12 season overseas, playing for Prokom Gdynia in Poland.
11:18am: Mike Wells of the Indianapolis Star says the Pacers have "great, great interest" in Mayo, and that he's the team's top choice among outside free agents.
9:13am: As the Grizzlies agree to re-sign one of their free agents, Marreese Speights, another Memphis free agent continues to seek a new contract. O.J. Mayo almost certainly won't be returning to the Grizzlies, but he "may be close to something" with the Pacers, according to Steve Kyler of HoopsWorld (via Twitter).

- Antawn Jamison had dinner in Charlotte with Bobcats executives Rod Higgins and Rich Cho, writes Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports (Twitter links). The former UNC star has also been talking to Warriors general manager Bob Myers, Jamison's former agent, and will chat with head coach Mark Jackson in the near future.
- The Mavericks have reached out to Ramon Sessions for a second time and pitched a starting job to the veteran point guard, writes Jeff Caplan of ESPNDallas.com.
- Rashard Lewis will visit the Heat this weekend after having his contract bought out by the Hornets, reports David Aldridge of NBA.com (Twitter links). The Hawks and the Knicks are among other teams interested in the veteran forward.

4:58pm: Lin wants more money than the $31MM offer from the Rockets, reports Ian O'Connor of ESPNNewYork.com (Twitter links). Lin is now waiting to see if the Mavericks present him with an offer as the team remains in the hunt for a starting point guard.
10:59am: The Rockets' offer is for four years and worth a little over $30MM, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld. Marc Berman of the New York Post pegs it at about $31MM. Lin has yet to make a decision on whether to accept it.
THURSDAY, 12:28am: The Rockets have extended an offer to Jeremy Lin and he's considering it, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Houston's multiyear offer includes a significant raise in year three, designed to hit the Knicks hard in the luxury tax. Lin will mull over the offer sheet and decide whether to accept it or to keep shopping, says Wojnarowski (all Twitter links).
After losing Goran Dragic to the Suns and agreeing to send Kyle Lowry to the Raptors, the Rockets are in need of a point guard. They've reportedly made an offer to Jeremy Lin, but he has yet to accept it, and even if he does, the Knicks are a good bet to match. Now, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld, Houston is eyeing former Rocket Aaron Brooks. The team will meet with Brooks this weekend, says Kennedy.
